[32:11] The Book of Psalms 92, Psalms 92.
[32:14] You know, for those of you who got our invitation or the flyer for today's evening service, you saw that the flyer said that you don't have to live like everyone else.
[32:27] Okay, you don't have to live like everyone else, and that's what we're going to spend, in fact, this entire week I'm going to spend time talking about that same subject.
[32:38] We're going to talk about that same subject and we're going to look at what the Word of God says about us and how we, how it is that we're supposed to be living.
[32:52] Psalm 92 and verse 5 says this.
[32:56] I'll read from the New King James; it says, O Lord, how great are your.
[33:02] Somebody say very deep, okay, so your oh Lord, how great are your works, your thoughts are very deep.
[33:11] Now a lot of you that are watching are Christians and you're watching this and you know the aspect of the Bible or God expecting us to live by faith, and especially in the times like we are in right now with the chaos all around the world.
[33:29] What you're seeing is that people understand, especially Christian people, understand and realize that these are times for us to live by faith.
[33:35] However, even though we realize that these are times for us to live by faith, many people struggle when it comes to living by faith on a practical basis, on a daily basis.
[33:47] When things are not going the way they're supposed to go, they still have a hard time understanding practically how they're supposed to live by faith.
[33:55] And so today, what I'm going to do is I'm just going to lay a foundation for how important it.
[34:02] Is to make sure that your mindset or your thinking is in line with the Word of God.
[34:08] Now here in Psalm 92 and verse 5 it says, "O Lord, how great are your works!"
[34:13] Your thoughts are very deep.
[34:16] And certain times we've read certain scriptures like this where it talks about how deep the thoughts of God are or how the thoughts of God are way above our way of thinking.
[34:27] And we've taken that truth and we've said to ourselves, or many people have said to themselves, "Okay, God thinks at a different level and I cannot think at that same level."
[34:40] Or, "God thinks at a different level and I'm a human being, so I think at a different level, and that's just how things are going to be."
[34:44] But today I'm going to show you that that's even though God thinks higher thoughts than we do and God's thoughts are very deep.
[34:53] I'm going to show you through scripture the importance of making sure that we understand the truth of the scripture.
[35:00] And the truth of the scripture is this, that even though the thoughts of...
[35:04] God are very deep even though he thinks
[35:06] higher in higher ways than we think we
[35:09] have the capacity and we have the
[35:11] god-given capacity and we have the
[35:13] opportunity to think like God okay we
[35:17] have the opportunity and the god-given
[35:19] capacity to think like God Jeremiah
[35:22] chapter 29 verse 11 a very familiar
[35:25] scripture to many of you it says for I
[35:27] know the thoughts I think towards you
[35:29] says the Lord thoughts of peace and not
[35:32] of evil to give you a future and a hope
[35:37] excuse me to give you a future and a
[35:39] hope now we know that this is what God
[35:41] thinks about us do we know that this is
[35:44] what God wants to see happen in our
[35:47] lives John chapter 10 verse 10 another
[35:49] familiar scripture Jesus speaking he
[35:51] says the thief comes to steal kill and
[35:53] destroy but he says but I have come to
[35:55] give you life and life more abundantly
[35:58] now please understand that both these
[35:59] scriptures have nothing to do with your
[36:02] current situation or the experiences
[36:05] that you are currently going through in
[36:06] your life God scripture does not change
[36:10] based on world economics God scripture
[36:13] does not change based on world
[36:15] circumstances God's picture or scripture
[36:18] does not change according to our
[36:20] circumstances God's Word is always going
[36:23] to remain the same and it is the truth
[36:26] of the word of God in fact when we
[36:28] really understand the power of the word
[36:30] of God we will soon understand that
[36:32] circumstances in fact have to change
[36:34] according to the Word of God it is
[36:36] situations that actually have to change
[36:38] according to the Word of God amen so
[36:42] with that in mind let's go to 1st
[36:44] Thessalonians please the book of first
[36:46] Thessalonians in the New Testament all
[36:51] right
[36:52] 1st Thessalonians chapter 5 and verse 23
[36:56] first Thessalonians chapter 5 and verse
[37:00] 23 it says now may the God of peace
[37:03] himself sanctify you completely and may
[37:06] your whole spirit soul and body be
[37:10] preserved blameless at the coming of our
[37:13] Lord Jesus Christ now what I want you to
[37:16] pay attention to is that mental part of
[37:18] that verse where it says and may your
[37:20] whole spirit soul and body every one say
[37:23] spirit soul and body
[37:28] okay spirit soul and body and he's
[37:30] talking about one person but then he
[37:32] says may your whole spirit soul and body
[37:36] be preserved blameless at the coming of
[37:39] our Lord Jesus Christ now here's what
[37:41] you need to understand that every human
[37:43] being is a tripart being that you are a
[37:46] spirit you have a soul and you live in a
[37:49] physical body ok I'll say that again you
[37:51] are a spirit you have a soul and you
[37:54] live in a physical body that's how God
[37:57] has created us to be as a tripart being
[38:00] you're not just your body you're not
[38:02] just your soul a lot of people think
[38:04] that we are body and soul no there's
[38:06] three parts to us it's spirit soul and
[38:09] body you are a spirit and not just a
[38:11] soul that's why when a person dies we
[38:14] bury the body but
[38:16] we say they're not here anymore meaning
[38:19] that there are somewhere else at this
[38:21] point why do we say that even though we
[38:23] see the body there because we really in
[38:26] reality we know that the body is simply
[38:29] a shell the body is simply the earth
[38:32] suit so to speak for example when
[38:35] astronauts go into space they wear a
[38:37] spacesuit all right now the spacesuit is
[38:41] not the person the person is actually
[38:44] living inside of the spacesuit so also
[38:46] when we come into this world God gave us
[38:49] an earth suit and that is your physical
[38:51] body all right if you understand that
[38:53] say Amen all right that's again if
[38:55] you're not with me in the room that
[38:56] means like go ahead and comment with an
[38:58] amen and encourage each other as well so
[39:02] you're a spirit you have a soul you live
[39:04] in a physical body now when a person is
[39:06] born again when a person believes in
[39:08] Christ the Bible says that old things
[39:10] have passed away behold all things have
[39:12] become new
[39:13] in other words that you are a new person
[39:15] the Bible calls it a new creation in in
[39:19] the in the Greek language it actually
[39:21] says a new species of being that never
[39:24] existed before now that's the reality
[39:26] and that's the truth of who you are
[39:28] however even though the Bible says that
[39:30] you are a new person and that all things
[39:33] have become new we quickly can
[39:35] understand and realize our bodies have
[39:38] not been made new yet all right because
[39:40] whatever weight you were whatever height
[39:42] you were whatever colour of skin
[39:43] whatever issues all of that remained the
[39:46] same why even though the Bible says all
[39:49] things have been made new it stayed the
[39:52] same why because the Bible was not
[39:53] really talking about your body at that
[39:55] point it's really not even talking about
[39:57] your soul you know if you're really
[40:01] honest a lot of you will realize that
[40:03] even after the day you were born again
[40:05] you're still struggled with some
[40:08] negative thinking in fact there are a
[40:09] lot of you that are watching right now
[40:11] you still struggle with negative
[40:13] thinking even though you've been your
[40:14] Christian for a while okay which means
[40:16] your soul also was not made new now what
[40:21] was made new was your spirit that's who
[40:23] you really are okay the real person the
[40:26] person living on the inside of this body
[40:29] the spirit
[40:29] man was saved and therefore when a
[40:31] person dies the spirit goes to heaven or
[40:34] the spirit goes to hell okay so you are
[40:36] a spirit you have a soul and you live in
[40:38] a physical body now we understand that
[40:40] the body was not changed and it's
[40:42] ultimately going to die it's going to
[40:44] pass away the about the soul which is
[40:46] your mind will and emotions mind will
[40:49] and emotions that really did not change
[40:51] but what really changed is your spirit
[40:54] everyone say spirit now once you know
[40:58] and once you realize that the spirit is
[41:00] the only thing that really got
[41:02] transformed now you've got to understand
[41:05] and understand the reality that you
[41:08] still have to take care of your physical
[41:10] body and you still have a responsibility
[41:11] to do something with this mind or the
[41:14] soul that God has given you now go to
[41:18] Romans chapter 12 please a scripture
[41:20] that I mentioned yesterday Romans
[41:22] chapter 12 electorally read verses 1 and
[41:24] 2 from the New King James first it says
[41:28] I beseech you therefore brethren by the
[41:30] mercies of God that you present your
[41:32] bodies a living sacrifice okay holy
[41:36] acceptable unto God which is your
[41:37] reasonable service so to start this
[41:41] chapter Paul is saying that that we
[41:44] ought to be presenting our bodies as a
[41:47] living sacrifice okay which means we
[41:49] cannot do whatever we please with our
[41:51] bodies it needs to be a living sacrifice
[41:54] holy and acceptable to God and then he
[41:57] says which is your reasonable service
[41:59] he's not even saying that you're going
[42:01] above and beyond by doing that he's
[42:03] saying you're just doing something that
[42:05] is reasonable at that point then he goes
[42:07] on to say and do not be conformed to
[42:10] this world but be transformed by the
[42:12] renewing of your mind that you may prove
[42:15] what is the good and acceptable and
[42:17] perfect will of God
[42:19] all right now I'll read the same thing
[42:21] from the New Living Translation and the
[42:24] amplified as well just because I want
[42:26] you to I want to really unpack this
[42:27] particular verse today verse 2 in the
[42:31] New Living Translation says this it says
[42:34] don't copy the behavior and customs of
[42:36] this world but let God transform you
[42:40] into a new person by changing
[42:43] way you think now let me just stop there
[42:46] for a quick moment look at just look at
[42:48] what the scripture says let God
[42:51] transform you let God transform you see
[42:59] many of you that are watching this right
[43:01] now are praying that certain things in
[43:04] your life change many of you that are
[43:07] watching are actually asking God to
[43:09] change you that you want a
[43:12] transformation and again this is why the
[43:14] Word of God is so important and I said
[43:16] that's why yesterday when I was speaking
[43:18] and over the last few days I've been
[43:19] saying prayer should not be the only you
[43:24] know a thing that you run to it
[43:25] shouldn't be the first thing that you do
[43:28] without the word okay the Word of God
[43:31] has to be first I know millions of
[43:33] people right now all over the world that
[43:36] will be praying well I don't know them
[43:37] personally but I know in general that
[43:39] there are millions of people all around
[43:41] the world that constantly pray for some
[43:43] kind of change in their life and they're
[43:45] constantly asking God God please
[43:47] transform my life please change me
[43:50] please change me please change me and
[43:51] yet here the scripture is saying but let
[43:54] God transform which means you've got to
[43:57] give him permission which means that it
[43:59] is an act of your will it's not just you
[44:02] coming and spending a couple of minutes
[44:04] in prayer and saying God please
[44:05] transform me and expecting a magical
[44:08] situation to take place expecting a
[44:10] supernatural miracle to take place when
[44:12] it comes to your thinking he says let
[44:14] God transform you into a new person many
[44:17] of you want to become a new person I
[44:19] know you're a Christian but there are
[44:21] things that you're struggling with there
[44:23] are things that you're going through
[44:24] there you feel lonely you feel depressed
[44:26] you feel fear you feel other things and
[44:29] you want you don't want to be that
[44:31] person anymore
[44:32] you want a transformation and yet he
[44:35] says let God transform you into a new
[44:39] person how is how is God going to do
[44:41] this by changing the way you think now I
[44:48] know see that's not an exciting verse
[44:49] for many people you know what would be
[44:52] exciting let God transform you into a
[44:55] new person by zapping you with his
[44:57] power right we want the overnight
[45:01] miracle we want to pray right now and
[45:03] then tomorrow everything's changed in
[45:05] our life we want to get that job we want
[45:08] to get that promotion we never want to
[45:09] be sick again we never want to be
[45:10] depressed again we never want to face
[45:12] another challenge we cannot defeat again
[45:14] and yet the Bible says God is going to
[45:17] transform you by changing the way you
[45:19] think he says look at this the
[45:20] continuation then you will learn to know
[45:23] God's will for you see all of you that
[45:27] are struggling with knowing God's will
[45:29] pastor I don't know I don't know it's so
[45:32] hard it's so hard it's so hard but the
[45:34] only reason it's hard is because you
[45:35] don't let God transform you the only
[45:39] reason you're struggling to know the
[45:40] will of God is because you have your own
[45:42] mind made up and you want to go the way
[45:45] you want to go and you want God to
[45:48] follow you rather than you following him
[45:50] I know this is this might be a little
[45:53] tough for some of you to take right now
[45:54] okay I'll start encouraging you in a few
[45:57] moments just hang on okay but let me get
[46:00] through this because this is so very
[46:02] important because many of us again if
[46:05] you let God transform you by changing
[46:06] the way you think you will find out the
[46:08] will of God very easily you will and
[46:12] then so he goes on to say God's will for
[46:14] you then you will learn to know God's
[46:16] will for you which is good and pleasing
[46:18] and perfect God's will is always good
[46:20] pleasing and perfect there's no evil in
[46:23] the will of God all right in the message
[46:25] transitor sorry in the amplified this is
[46:27] what it says it says do not be conformed
[46:30] to this world this age which means how
[46:34] the world thinks right now in this time
[46:37] period fashioned after and adapted to
[46:41] its external superficial customs but be
[46:44] transformed how is that going to happen
[46:46] changed by the entire renewal of your
[46:50] mind by its new ideals and its new
[46:54] attitude see everyone that is watching
[46:57] and everyone that's in this room right
[46:59] now every single person on this planet
[47:01] has an ideal in their life right now and
[47:05] they have certain attitudes with which
[47:07] they live their life and here he says
[47:09] change all of that
[47:11] with new ideals and a new attitude and
[47:14] then he says so that you may prove for
[47:17] yourself what is the good acceptable and
[47:19] perfect will of God even the thing which
[47:23] is good and acceptable and perfect in
[47:26] his sight for you now let me read it
[47:29] from the message translation as well all
[47:31] right it says don't become so well
[47:33] adjusted to the to your culture that you
[47:36] fit into it without even thinking I hope
[47:41] you're getting this don't become so
[47:45] well-adjusted to the culture or to your
[47:48] culture which means we don't get so well
[47:51] adjusted to the movies that you watch
[47:53] and the and and the shows that you watch
[47:56] and what your friends are telling you
[47:57] and what the music industry is telling
[47:59] you and what the songs are telling you
[48:01] and what your unsaved family members are
[48:03] telling you what the corporate world is
[48:05] telling you don't be so we'll adjusted
[48:08] to all of that thinking he says instead
[48:10] fix your attention on God you'll be
[48:13] changed from the inside out it's not the
[48:18] outside in it's the inside out readily
[48:21] recognize what he wants from you and
[48:24] quickly respond to it readily recognize
[48:27] what he wants from you and quickly
[48:29] respond to it unlike the culture around
[48:31] you always dragging you down to its
[48:33] level of immaturity God brings the best
[48:37] out of you develops well-formed maturity
[48:42] in you amen
[48:45] all right now again when we think of the
[48:47] word conforming when you think about
[48:50] being conformed to certain things in
[48:53] your life okay go back to New King James
[48:56] Version please for a quick moment Romans
[48:58] chapter 12 and verse two again and he
[49:00] says and do not be conformed to this
[49:03] world but be transformed by the renewing
[49:06] of your mind if I can I just want to
[49:08] show you this very quick example because
[49:10] I want you to really get this yeah if
[49:13] you can just put this right here please
[49:14] oh yeah that's fine now when you think
[49:18] when you think about being conformed to
[49:21] something all right
[49:22] that means being fashioned
[49:24] by something or being uh you know shaved
[49:28] into something alright yeah just put
[49:30] this right here and if I can have the
[49:32] glass all right and another container

[49:36] all right we're really high-tech today
[49:39] all right okay now as many of you know
[49:47] all right now everyone can clearly see
[49:51] that there's water in this bottle okay
[49:53] now this water has been conformed to the
[49:57] shape of this bottle okay there's
[49:59] nothing else the water can do it is
[50:02] simply conformed to the shape of this
[50:05] particular bottle now at the same time
[50:07] the very same water that is conformed to
[50:09] this shape of this bottle if I pour it
[50:12] out into this container now all of a
[50:14] sudden that water has now conformed to
[50:17] the shape of this container now I can
[50:19] take the same water or again and up
[50:22] throw it into this glass container and
[50:26] what has happened it's the same water
[50:28] being conformed to different shapes now
[50:32] if you know again I'm not a baker I'm
[50:36] not that great in the kitchen but for
[50:37] those of you who make stuff in the
[50:39] kitchen if you're trying to make some
[50:41] cakes or if you're making or or even a
[50:43] chapati you don't just do it in any

[52:22] about is the Word of God so when you
[52:25] understand that we need to be conformed
[52:27] to the Word of God rather than what is
[52:30] taking place in the world and rather
[52:32] than what the world or the systems of
[52:34] the world are telling us then it becomes
[52:37] our responsibility to make sure that we
[52:40] are conforming our minds our ways of
[52:42] thinking to the patterns that we see in
[52:45] the Word of God and not what we see in
[52:47] the world around us okay now with that
[52:50] in mind go to proverbs chapter 23 please
[52:53] proverbs 23 and verse 7 proverbs 23 and
[52:59] verse 7 says this but as a man thinks in
[53:01] his heart so is he in other words
[53:04] whatever the case might be on the
[53:06] outside for as you think in your heart
[53:09] that's who you're really going to be it
[53:13] really as important as the Word of God
[53:16] is it really doesn't matter what the
[53:18] Word of God says until and unless you
[53:20] believe and conform your ways of
[53:22] thinking to the Word of God see again

[56:25] righteousness of God living on the

[56:34] is an American citizen who's living in
[56:36] India okay if or an American ambassador
[56:39] living in India if there as long as
[56:41] they're living in India but as long as
[56:43] they're an American citizen and the
[56:45] ambassador of that particular country
[56:47] they should not be conformed to India's
[56:51] ways of thinking are you understanding
[56:55] that they're living in India and yet
[56:57] they should not be conformed to India's
[56:59] ways of living or they should not be
[57:01] conformed to the Indian laws why because
[57:05] they need to be living from a different
[57:07] standpoint they need to be living and
[57:10] they need to be functioning in their
[57:11] office or in their status from a
[57:14] different standpoint why because that
[57:15] has come to that that status or that
[57:18] position was given to them by the
[57:20] government of America and not India same
[57:23] also with the Ambassador that goes from
[57:25] India to the US or any other country
[57:27] they're not supposed to be conformed to
[57:29] that country's ways of thinking they're
[57:31] supposed to still maintain their
[57:34] original countries ways of thinking

[57:39] representatives of the kingdom of God

[57:44] that is who we are representing then how
[57:46] that is how we are supposed to live are

[57:57] these things under control or make sure
[58:00] that you are paying attention to these
[58:01] things make sure you're focusing on
