# The Master Explains Simply, Part-1 | Sant Baljit Singh Ji

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B32RUMkXPUU

[00:08] My beloved children,
[00:12] I bow to the Supreme Father's Primordial Power that resides within each one of you.
[00:19] Accept my salutations.
[00:32] Today, as we all know, it has been said that we have gathered on the birth anniversary of our revered Grand Master, Param Sant Shri Kirpal Singh Ji Maharaj.
[00:52] On this auspicious occasion, we have assembled together.
[01:03] My children, whoever has a birthday also has a day of death.
[01:12] Whoever is born will also die.
[01:15] This is the law of nature.
[01:20] But about such great souls, it has been said: 'They are beyond birth and death; they come for the welfare of humanity.'
[01:39] Such great souls come only for the good of others.
[01:45] They truly have neither a birthday nor a death day.
[01:56] However, we use these two days—birth and death anniversaries—as an opportunity to gather together in the company of Saints.
[02:15] To remember, repeat, and reflect upon their teachings.
[02:29] Because they come only for the welfare of souls like us who have lost our way.
[02:40] They awaken us, make us aware, guide us, and teach us that this world is a web of illusion (Maya).
[02:56] Do not become entangled in it.
[03:05] But there is one thing that should become absolutely clear to all of us.
[03:18] Nothing will be gained by blaming Maya, nor is there any need to condemn it.
[03:28] Some of the points I speak about today I will also speak about in Nagpur and in Nawan Nagar, because they are important.
[03:35] Every word of the Masters is important.
[03:49] As I said, by blaming Maya you will achieve nothing.
[03:54] Finding fault with Maya you will achieve nothing.
[04:00] It is written: 'Maya is the great deceiver.'
[04:06] It is said that Maya deceives everyone.
[04:12] But this is said only to help you understand.
[04:20] Now, if you choose to be deceived, that is your own weakness.
[04:32] If you do not wish to be deceived, you will not be.
[04:38] Only two realities pervade this creation: Maya (illusion) and Brahm (The Absolute Reality).
[04:52] They are spoken of as two, only for the sake of explanation.
[05:00] In truth, both are forms of the Supreme Father who created this universe.
[05:09] Both are manifestations of Him alone.
[05:14] Maya did not come from somewhere else; the Supreme Father Himself assumed the form of Maya.
[05:25] People say, 'Mother is Maya,' but this too is an expression of the Supreme Father.
[05:35] He alone is the Mother; He alone is the Father.
[05:42] Nothing exists apart from Him.
[05:42] There is nothing else in this creation.
[05:47] He is Maya, He is Brahm, He is the Guru, He is God, He is the disciple, He is the mind —everything is Him.
[05:54] Do not create divisions.
[06:02] Otherwise, you will create more than two.
[06:07] The truth is One; we must become one with the One.
[06:12] You may say, 'This is Mother, that is God.
[06:12] This is Maya, this is Shankar, this is Kaal, this is Brahm, this is Vishnu, this is Ganpati, this is Hanuman.'
[06:19] Whatever exists, its only Him.
[06:25] Insects, creatures, roots, water, earth, sky, the netherworld—
[06:34] Soil, rivers, mountains, flowers, leaves, bees, flies, mosquitoes—everything.
[06:41] Within this creation, nothing exists apart from the One.
[06:50] Stop making distinctions within your mind, the mountain of duality arises.
[07:03] 'Should I go this way or that way?'
[07:14] For me, the Mother is the Father, and the Father is the Mother.
[07:21] Like two sides of one hand—one side is Mother, the other is Father.
[07:28] There is only One Energy in this universe.
[07:36] That same Energy assumes different forms.
[07:44] It alone has taken every form.
[07:44] The Masters have said that - you too (humans) are Divine.
[07:51] Now Mahadev is a Power, how can He be lesser than us who are mere human?
[07:56] For me there is no distinction; the One exists in every form.
[08:03] Every form is acceptable to me.
[08:09] If your father appeared before you in a different form, would you deny that he is your father?
[08:20] He alone has assumed all forms.
[08:20] Stop creating divisions.
[08:28] End the inner conflict within your mind.
[08:34] Whether this way or that way—there is nothing except the One.
[08:41] He alone exists; there is no second.
[08:50] 'The Divine pervades all the three worlds.'
[08:50] He is all-pervading.
[08:51] 'Savaya' means overflowing fullness—the One fills every realm and every form.
[09:13] Whether Ganpati, the Divine Mother, Shiva, Vishnu, you or I—
[09:19] whether a donkey, a fish, a tree, or an insect—He dwells in every form.
[09:26] Stop making distinctions.
[09:31] End the war within yourself.
[09:31] People say that I brought the deities.
[09:36] Where would I bring them from?
[09:36] They existed long before us.
[09:43] They have always existed prior to us.
[09:57] God creates nothing in vain.
[09:57] 'True is the creation of the True One.'
[10:11] Everything in creation has arisen from the Truth.
[10:18] Truth alone created it, and Truth alone pervades it.
[10:24] We call it unreal only to teach you not to run after Maya.
[10:45] You enroll in school and send your children there.
[10:52] A child may not question why he or she is being sent to school, but after school you enter college.
[10:56] At seventeen or eighteen, why do you enroll in college?
[11:03] To study.
[11:10] You enroll in order to learn.
[11:17] Isn't that right?
[11:22] Yes, to study.
[11:28] But you do not enroll merely to take examinations.
[11:34] Examinations are part of the process.
[11:43] Those exams reveal your ability.
[11:43] Only after passing them do you receive your degree and certificate.
[11:43] Likewise, we are here to become complete—to realize the Complete Brahm.
[11:50] We too must pass through tests.
[11:58] Who tests us?
[11:58] God does.
[11:58] What must we pass?
[12:05] We must rise above Maya.
[12:05] Maya is He, and Brahm is also He.
[12:10] As I said, two aspects abound in creation: Maya and Brahm.
[12:18] Exactly, Maya is visible; Brahm is invisible.
[12:27] 'Behold the Unseen and remain absorbed in love.'
[12:30] The Masters tell us to behold the Unseen—that which cannot be seen with the eyes.
[12:37] Remain lovingly absorbed in That.
[12:45] Deepen your love and devotion toward That (God).
[12:58] That is why the Masters say, 'Whatever is seen shall perish.'
[13:05] Whatever is visible will certainly pass away.
[13:11] Whatever is seen is perishable.
[13:11] Renounce the mind's delusion.
[13:11] You are here today; tomorrow you will not be.
[13:18] You too will pass away.
[13:20] You too will depart.
[13:20] Buildings are built and eventually crumble.
[13:31] Do not chase what is visible.
[13:37] Pursue Brahm, the Invisible—not Maya.
[13:37] That is the whole point.
[13:47] Read all the Gurbani and all the Vedas and scriptures.
[13:47] (crux is this...)
[13:54] Think of this world as a stage where a drama is being performed.
[14:01] There are five principal characters: Maya, Brahm, and the mind, the Guru, and the individual soul (atma).
[14:22] The entire teaching revolves around these five.
[14:27] Guide the mind toward Brahm, not toward Maya.
[14:35] Become Gurmukh (devoted to Guru) Follow the Guru's guidance.
[14:42] It is as simple as that.
[14:42] Yet you fail to understand even this simple truth.
[14:50] For countless lifetimes you have wandered through the cycle of 8.4 million births, trapped in Maya.
[15:05] No one is forcing you into this trap.
[15:11] It is your own choice.
[15:13] If you wish, walk away from it.
[15:16] Leave it behind and move forward.
[15:22] When you go to the vegetable market, you know why you are there.
[15:32] You came to buy cauliflower, potatoes, or tomatoes.
[15:38] You buy only what you need.
[15:43] Vendors may call out, 'Take these eggplants! Take these gourds!'
[15:48] But you simply say, 'No, thank you,' and keep walking.
[15:56] No one can force you against your will.
[16:03] Be clear in your mind about what you truly want.
[16:12] If you want Brahm and not Maya, walk out of this marketplace.
[16:19] Seek Brahm.
[16:21] If someone is lost, you search for them.
[16:26] If your son, wife, daughter, buffalo, or goat is lost, you look for them.
[16:33] But God has never been lost.
[16:39] It is you who have turned away from Him, being manmukh (mind oriented).
[16:46] God is everywhere, but you are looking only where you wish to look.
[16:52] You choose to see Maya.
[16:55] Maya has many forms.
[17:00] Some are attached to a husband,
[17:04] others to a wife, daughter, son-in-law, money, or a car.
[17:09] Others are attached to land, houses, or status.
[17:15] Others are attached to gold, silver, or business.
[17:21] Maya appears in countless forms.
[17:31] 'Maya, the great deceiver, sits like a serpent with its hood spread; whoever serves it is bitten by it.'
[17:39] When a snake bites, its poison spreads.
[17:44] Likewise, the poison of Maya leaves you spiritually unconscious.
[17:51] The Masters called this spiritual unconsciousness 'bikh' (poison).
[18:00] Now, its clear Maya & Brahm too is the same One.
[18:00] The Guru says: conquer your ego (haumai).
[18:06] Destroy your ego; overcome your sense of 'I'.
[18:11] This is explained only to help us understand.
[18:18] Gurbani says: 'Injecting the poison of egotism, the world was created.'
[18:26] Even this ego has been placed here by Him in this creation.
[18:33] You did not create it yourself.
[18:39] It is part of the test—to see where you become trapped.
[18:45] You are free to walk out.
[18:45] You can break these bonds.
[18:50] They are your own; no one has tied you.
[18:54] Maya has not bound you.
[18:59] Money has not bound you; wealth is not tied to you.
[19:03] Riches themselves are not attached to you.
[19:03] You are the one who is attached.
[19:10] Look even at your buffalo or goat.
[19:10] It has a rope around its neck with your name on it, doesn't it?
[19:15] If someone asks whose buffalo it is,
[19:22] They will say, 'It belongs to Tukaram (common Indian name).'
[19:22] Everyone knows whose it is.
[19:31] But if you take hold of that buffalo, goat, or bull, and the rope slips from your hand, does the buffalo run after you?
[19:49] No—you run after it.
[19:49] So who is really bound to whom?
[19:54] Think about it.
[19:59] You say, 'It is mine.'
[19:59] But the buffalo says, 'I do not belong to you.'
[20:05] It simply goes wherever it wishes.
[20:10] Even an animal is not attached to you, yet you, as a human being, are attached to it.
[20:17] That too is a form of Maya.
[20:26] Maya has countless forms and attracts you in many different ways.
[20:32] This is the examination.
[20:38] You must pass by rising above Maya.
[20:42] Maya never calls anyone to come to it.
[20:45] You look at it, become fascinated, and spend your life chasing it.
[20:51] You are attached to your wife, then your children,
[20:55] then your grandchildren.
[21:03] Reflect on your life.
[21:09] Review how you spend each day.
[21:15] Suppose you are a farmer.
[21:23] Or perhaps you have a job or run a business.
[21:23] What do you really do each day?
[21:31] You wake up, bathe, eat breakfast, pack your meal, work, return home, eat, and rest.
[21:42] You spend a little time with your children, sleep, and repeat the same routine the next day.
[21:56] Tomorrow is the same as today.
[22:06] Life goes on like the bull walking in circles at the oil press.(stuck in a rut)
[22:14] It keeps moving all day but never reaches anywhere.
[22:19] That is the condition of most of us throughout life.
[22:29] [Applause]
[22:37] We never tire of repeating the same routine until life passes by.
[22:43] We continue suffering while doing the same things.
[22:49] There is nothing truly new in our lives.
[22:54] A farmer does not even get a weekend off.
[23:00] Someone with a job may take the family to a movie on a holiday.
[23:03] Or take the children to the park and have ice cream.
[23:09] That is all.
[23:12] Our entire life follows the same routine into which we have settled.
[23:18] We keep moving like the bull circling the oil press—going round and round.(stuck in a rut)
[23:24] Yesterday we were alone; today we have married and must care for a spouse.
[23:31] Marriage was our own choice. No one forced us into it.
[23:43] Now it has become a bond.
[23:49] And once you create these bonds, instead of breaking them, you speak of keeping them for seven lifetimes.(Indian tradion of seven sacred wedding vows, usually percieved for seven lifetimes).
[23:56] That is what people say,but
[23:59] The Guru tells you otherwise that is to become free from bondage, yet you say, 'May this never end.'
[24:04] You do not wish to let go.
[24:14] Reflect on this.
[24:18] All who spoke before have departed. I too will go, and so will you.
[24:25] The cycle will continue.
[24:31] If you wish to understand the essence,
[24:36] read all the Gurbani, the Vedas, and the scriptures.
[24:42] The conclusion is simply this:
[24:46] There is the Guru and the disciple—the individual soul (jiv/atma).
[24:55] You have come to the Guru for liberation.
[25:01] The Masters said: 'There is nothing merely to say or hear, nor anything outward to do.'
[25:09] Those before us spoke and departed; so did those before them.
[25:14] Guru Nanak, Kabir, and all the saints came and went.
[25:21] The essence is: 'Die while living, and you shall not die again.'
[25:28] One who dies to the ego while alive is not born again.
[25:35] That is liberation.
[25:42] The wise need only a hint. My words may sound stern.
[25:49] Some people find them difficult to hear.
[25:57] Strong medicine is given according to the illness.
[26:09] Each person receives the treatment they need.
[26:15] Some receive a sweet pill, others a bitter one, and some even need an injection.
[26:19] Sometimes a doctor must even amputate a limb.
[26:25] The doctor does not do so out of hatred.
[26:30] When the doctor gives an injection, you may cry out in pain.
[26:36] During the coronavirus period, everyone saw such vaccinations.
[26:40] They were shown on television.
[26:50] Does that mean the doctor is your enemy because the injection hurts?
[26:55] No. Even surgery is done for your benefit.
[27:01] Everything the doctor does is for your welfare.
[27:08] Likewise, even the Guru's stern words are spoken for your good. What relationship do we share?
[27:20] It is a spiritual relationship.
[27:26] I have no enmity toward you; I speak only for your benefit.
[27:31] The saints spoke and departed; one day I too will be gone.
[27:36] Today you may garland me and applaud.
[27:42] Someday you may place a garland on my photograph as well.
[27:46] Meanwhile, who knows in what form you may return—human or otherwise.
[27:52] You will clap again, but if you learn nothing, what is the use?
[28:03] You do not walk according to the Guru's teachings.
[28:09] The Guru says: break these bonds. You created them; no one else can bind you.
[28:18] No one has the power to bind you.
[28:24] These bonds take many forms, just as Maya takes many forms.
[28:29] Maya appears as husband, wife, son, and daughter.
[28:32] It appears as son-in-law, home, wealth, gold, and silver.
[28:37] It also appears as jobs, status, and ego.
[28:43] Power, status—'I am this minister, I am that minister.'
[28:51] These are all forms of Maya.
[28:57] Whatever attracts and entices you is Maya. That is the essence.
[29:05] Whatever is visible and tempts you is Maya.
[29:13] You see garbage too, but you are not attracted to it.
[29:17] Yet someone else may collect garbage because it earns them a living.
[29:24] That is how they make money.
[29:30] Their preference is different from yours.
[29:36] They are attached to garbage; you are attached to something else.
[29:41] This attachment—feeling that you cannot live without something—
[29:46] is bondage.
[29:51] How can one who is bound ever fly?
[30:01] A parrot inside a cage cannot fly; the cage is its bondage.
[30:08] Even if you remove the cage but tie a string to its leg,
[30:13] it still cannot fly. You are meant to soar on the inner journey.
[30:20] It is an inward, higher journey—not a physical one.
[30:24] The same One is above and below.
[30:31] The same One is outside and within.
[30:43] He pervades everything completely.
[30:51] This creation is full of Him because He Himself is Complete.
[31:13] There is no place where Brahm, where God, is absent.
[31:21] Nothing exists in creation apart from God. Whatever the form, it is God alone.
[31:33] Wherever you look, see only Him. The unseen is God, and the seen is also God.
[31:41] But the Masters say: 'Behold the Unseen and remain absorbed in love.'
[31:50] See the Unseen. The unseen is Brahm; the seen is Maya.
[31:56] Maya is bondage. Become free from bondage.
[32:06] 'Those absorbed in Maya are consumed by Maya.'
[32:09] Those who chase Maya become lost in it.
[32:18] They become trapped and crushed by it.
[32:28] Do not run after what is seen. Remain absorbed in the Unseen; Brahm pervades the three worlds.
[32:40] Look toward the Unseen Brahm—the Invisible, the Alakh Niranjan.
[32:45] When a holy mendicant comes to your door asking for alms,
[32:51] they often say, 'Alakh Niranjan.'
[32:57] They are reminding you to behold the Invisible.
[33:05] The Invisible is stainless—Niranjan, pure and without blemish.
[33:24] 'His form is radiant white; His realm and throne are white.'(Shvet varn hai desh, singhasan shvet hai)
[33:32] In the language of the saints, 'shvet' means white or pure.
[33:38] That realm is pure and radiant.
[33:43] His throne too is pure white.
[33:51] Even saints seeking alms repeat these words.
[33:55] They are awakening us with the message of Alakh Niranjan.
[34:03] Look toward the One who cannot be perceived by the eyes.
[34:10] That is what you should seek. But instead you say:
[34:16] 'My little child, my cow, my buffalo, my house, my husband, my possessions...'
[34:24] You remain absorbed only in what is visible.
[34:29] Who has ever been without a family?
[34:36] Did Kabir Sahib not have a family? Did Guru Nanak Sahib not have one?
[34:41] Which of the Masters was without a family?
[34:45] He had wife , but no child (Sant Thakar Singh Ji),
[34:52] He told me....that having no children of His own was better for Him,
[34:59] No problem, He could spare more time to devote to God and earn the wealth of the Divine Name.
[35:06] Those who came to earn the wealth of God's Name received more time for it, but you people...
[35:17] 'You came for the Lord's Name, yet became busy carding cotton (doing futile work).' You came to meditate on the Divine Name,
[35:24] but instead became occupied with worldly affairs. Family cannot truly bind you.
[35:33] Guru Nanak Sahib lived with a family.
[35:42] He had sons and a wife, yet he traveled from village to village and country to country.
[35:52] He tried to awaken and guide us ignorant souls.
[35:59] He said: Wake up! The purpose of life is something higher.
[36:06] The purpose is not merely what we are doing now.
[36:11] The cause of your suffering is identification with the body. Again and again you take birth in a body and accumulate karma.
[36:18] You perform actions that lead to receiving another body. Guru Nanak Sahib said, 'No embodied being is truly free from suffering.'
[36:25] Whoever possesses a body cannot be completely happy.
[36:30] Everyone experiences some form of suffering.
[36:36] Whether spiritual, material, physical, or otherwise, suffering exists.
[36:42] No embodied being is entirely free from pain.
[36:48] This body is received according to one's karma.
[36:54] If your karma is good, you may receive a human birth; otherwise another form.
[37:01] Yet within all forms resides the same soul, and the soul is of the Divine.
[37:10] Imagine a solid brick of gold.
[37:17] Take a little gold from it and shape it into an ornament.
[37:25] Make it into a nose ring, for example.
[37:31] Take more gold and make a ring.
[37:37] Take more and make a bracelet or bangle.
[37:43] Take even more and make a necklace or a crown.
[37:48] Now all these objects appear different.
[37:55] One is placed here, another there.
[38:00] One is worn on the neck, another on the head, yet all are gold.
[38:07] Only their names have become different.
[38:15] And their functions or uses are different.
[38:20] Their purposes vary.
[38:25] What is worn in the nose is not worn in the ear.
[38:30] What is worn in the ear is not worn in the nose.
[38:34] What is worn on the hand is not worn on the neck, and what is worn on the neck is not worn on the head.
[38:38] Each has its own place.
[38:43] Such is the creation. In every form it is still the same gold.
[38:52] Likewise, it is the same Divine in every form—whether Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh, or Ganpati.
[38:59] Whether Ramesh, Tukaram, Bholaram, or Baljit.
[39:05] Whether Kirpal Singh Ji, Thakar Singh Ji, Krishna Ji, a dog, or a snake.
[39:11] Whether a scorpion or a fly—it is all fashioned from the One.
[39:22] There is no second reality.
[39:30] It is said that Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh will also pass away.
[39:35] This is explained symbolically: Shankar represents one quality,
[39:42] and Brahma represents another.
[39:49] Vishnu represents yet another aspect of nature.
[39:57] 'He Himself created Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh and assigned them their roles.'
[40:05] Responsibilities were entrusted to each of them.
[40:11] Brahma creates, Vishnu sustains, and Shankar transforms and recycles.
[40:23] He alone has assumed all these forms.
[40:30] Do not become lost in such distinctions. He arranged creation in this way, yet He remains One.
[40:37] You must pass the test. You must rise above Maya. First recognize the disease...
[40:42] Why are you caught in the cycle of birth and death? Why are you wounded and suffering between birth and death?
[40:48] Why do you suffer? Why do you weep? Why are you not at peace?
[40:53] What is the reason? Once you understand the disease, the treatment can begin.
[40:59] What does a doctor do? You go to him crying in distress.
[41:05] Visit a hospital and see how many people are suffering in different ways.
[41:12] The doctor says, 'Go and get these tests done.'
[41:16] The tests reveal the illness, and once the illness is known, treatment can begin.
[41:27] Medicine is prescribed, and by taking it you recover.
[41:34] In the same way, the Guru is also a doctor.
[41:41] You suffer and wonder what to do. You go here and there seeking help.
[41:48] Then some wisdom dawns and you decide to go to a Guru.
[41:57] You visit a Guru or a Saint and say,
[42:01] 'Master, I am suffering; I have these troubles.' The Guru replies, 'Repeat the Divine Name.'
[42:08] The Guru gives you a 'gur'(a method)—a guiding principle.
[42:12] The Guru gives a method, a discipline, a path, and a way to follow.
[42:19] If the Guru has given you a method or instruction,
[42:26] telling you what to practice and how to proceed, then follow that path.
[42:39] But what do you do? You listen to the Guru,
[42:48] yet you do not practice what you have heard. Thus your visit bears little fruit.
[43:01] Instead, other things seem more attractive to you.
[43:08] The Masters said: 'The company of Saints brings supreme peace.' Why do you not seek such company?
[43:21] If you wish, I can sit here forever.
[43:27] But will you remain here as well?
[43:33] Within two or three days everyone will leave, and I will be left alone.
[43:41] Isn't that what happens every year?
[43:49] When everyone has gone, then I too depart.
[44:00] 'The company of Saints is supremely blissful.' Why then do you not keep such company?
[44:08] In the company of Saints there is no loss.
[44:14] By meeting and beholding them, one is uplifted and blessed.
[44:20] A true Saint will not cheat or exploit you.
[44:26] They speak only for your welfare and benefit.
[44:31] Whatever they do is for your good. They guide you toward what is right.
[44:36] They tell you how to free yourself from suffering and from the cycle of birth and death.
[44:55] Yet you still do not follow the guidance.
[45:00] When the Guru tells you what to do and gives you a method and path,
[45:06] he shows you the way to walk.
[45:13] If you follow it, liberation will come and your life will be fulfilled.
[45:18] The suffering and confusion accumulated over countless lifetimes will be healed.
[45:22] Your condition will improve and your welfare will be assured.
[45:35] [Pause]
[45:38] Yet you do not act. The mind says, 'Yes, Guru Ji has spoken; I will do it later.'
[45:45] 'The children are still young.'
[45:50] 'When they grow up and I have more free time, then I will practice.' The mind is very clever.
[46:00] But do not even blame the mind.
[46:04] To place blame, there must be someone separate to blame.
[46:13] Apart from the One, nothing else truly exists in this creation.
[46:18] If there is no second, whom will you blame?
[46:22] The issue is that you are mind-oriented (manmukh).
[46:30] You follow the dictates of the mind, and the mind controls you.
[46:37] The mind says, 'Wait, there is no hurry. Guru Ji has already told us...'
[46:44] You heard Guru Ji's words, didn't you? 'Yes, I will do it.'
[46:50] 'When the children grow a little older and I have more free time, then I will practice.'
[47:00] But as the children grow older, responsibilities increase.
[47:09] Then you say, 'After the children's marriages, I will follow Guru Ji's teachings.'
[47:14] 'Once their marriages are done, I will do what Guru Ji advised.'
[47:19] The daughter is married, the son is married.
[47:26] Then the mind says, 'Let them settle down and have children; then I will practice.'
[47:34] Soon they have children too, and you become busy caring for them.
[47:41] The mind keeps finding excuses. But do not blame the mind; as I said, it too is part of the One.
[47:47] The Masters said: 'O mind, you are the embodiment of Divine Light; recognize your true origin.'
[47:55] Recognize yourself, O mind—you are a form of Divine Light.
[48:03] What do our teachings say?
[48:09] Wherever you focus your attention, the Supreme Father can be experienced as Divine Light. The mind too is His subtle expression.
[48:19] Do not blame the mind. The teaching is simply: do not follow the mind's whims.
[48:24] The mind's function is to generate thoughts.
[48:28] Everyone and everything in creation has its assigned role.
[48:34] Children in your village play with a ball or a football, don't they?
[48:41] You have seen them playing, haven't you?
[48:49] Tell me, they play, don't they?
[48:56] When one team tries to score a goal,
[49:02] the other team naturally tries to stop them.
[49:09] They block, tackle, and push. Then you complain:
[49:16] 'They are stopping us from scoring!'
[49:23] 'They pushed us aside!'
[49:27] If you are strong enough, accept the challenge.
[49:32] At worst, you may fall down. Get up again.
[49:38] If someone blocks your way, do not become entangled—move past and continue.
[49:42] If you have determination, you can still score the goal.
[49:48] Instead of blaming others for stopping you,
[49:54] understand that these examples are meant only to teach and explain.
[50:02] Neither Kaal nor anyone else truly stops you.
[50:07] The opposing team exists to challenge you. If you have strength, score the goal.
[50:12] The Masters had that strength and reached their goal.
[50:16] You can do the same. [Applause]
[50:21] Why blame anyone else?
[50:27] Yet the mind always looks for someone else to blame.
[50:33] A husband comes to me and says, 'I would meditate, but my wife does not allow me.'
[50:45] Why would the wife object?
[50:50] She fears he may become detached and leave worldly life behind.
[50:54] She worries he may leave her.
[50:59] Likewise, many daughters come to me in tears and say:
[51:05] 'Maharaj Ji, I want to meditate, but my husband does not let me.'
[51:12] His fear is understandable. Why would he encourage it?
[51:18] If you become free from attachment, lust, and anger,
[51:26] then his expectations from marriage may no longer be fulfilled.
[51:32] His purpose in marriage is different.
[51:36] Neither husband nor wife should become a source of conflict.
[51:43] Yet each blames the other for not allowing devotion.
[51:48] So I tell them:
[51:51] 'When you are lying quietly in bed, meditate inwardly. Why make a display of it? Why create conflict at home?'
[52:01] Someone may take away your outer freedom and external liberty,
[52:07] but no one can take away your inner freedom. Within, you remain free.
[52:17] I am seated within you.
[52:22] I am present among you and within you. Only I know what is happening inside me.
[52:27] People asked Kabir Sahib:
[52:32] 'You tell everyone to meditate and remember God, but who has the time?'
[52:38] 'You yourself spend the whole day working at the loom.'
[52:44] Kabir Sahib was a weaver and spent his days weaving cloth.
[52:50] People came to him for Satsang(spiritual time) while he continued his work.
[52:55] He had a household, a wife, children, and worldly responsibilities.
[53:00] 'Then when do you find time for devotion?' they asked.
[53:08] 'You tell everyone to serve God and meditate upon Him.'
[53:13] 'When do you yourself go to God?'
[53:20] Kabir Sahib replied, 'Yes, I work all day, but my state is different.'
[53:26] 'Whether I rise, sit, eat, or drink, all of it is service and worship.'
[53:32] In other words, whatever I do, there is a constant awareness within me.
[53:41] That awareness keeps my attention and consciousness connected to the Divine at all times.
[53:49] My remembrance remains linked with God continuously.
[53:52] 'Whether I rise or sit, it is all circumambulation of the Divine.'
[53:59] When you go to a temple, you walk around it in reverence, don't you?
[54:05] I recently visited Triambakeshwar(JyotrLing in maharashtr)) and saw people doing exactly that.
[54:10] They bow inside the temple and even bow outside near its walls.
[54:16] They keep circling the temple in devotion.
[54:21] But once they return home, they forget.
[54:27] They become absorbed again in family, work, farming, and business.
[54:32] Then when will they continue that inner circumambulation and remembrance?
[54:46] Devotion to God is not a matter of a few minutes or hours.
[54:53] It is eternal and continuous.
[55:05] It is unbroken and everlasting.
[55:14] Divine devotion cannot be fragmented into pieces; the Infinite is not attained in fragments.
[55:20] Yet you yourselves are fragmented and scattered.
[55:25] Part of you is attached to spouse, children, land, position, or wealth.
[55:30] You are divided among many attachments.
[55:41] And only the Complete can unite with the Complete.
