# THE DOCTRINE OF TRINITY | DAY 5 | 40 DAYS OF SPIRITUAL GROWTH DRILL | PASTOR MAVIS ORJI

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A38pela-k9I

[00:00] Today, um, I have talked about the existence of God.
[00:03] We're able to push that through, trying to show us that the Bible doesn't prove it, but we have Bible doesn't try to explain uh prove the the existence of God because it assumes that God exists, but there are places in scripture we can use to do that, which we have done.
[00:19] We talked about the omniscient nature of God, the omnipresent nature of God, the omnipotent nature of God.
[00:24] And I said that these are the non-moral attributes of God, incommunicable attributes of God.
[00:32] So, these are attributes of God that we have taken time to look at.
[00:39] So, for today, we want to look at something that also is foundational and technical in nature.
[00:45] Sometimes you think you know it, but you realize that you have not gotten a hold of it the way you should.
[00:52] And that is the doctrine of the Trinity.
[00:58] Please pay attention.
[00:59] Do not assume.
[01:01] Don't assume.
[01:03] Over the years, you know, when we start our faith, sometimes where we were brought up, where we were trained, those who taught us in the earlier part of our Christian walk with God can unconsciously or ignorantly teach some heretic things.
[01:20] And we have embraced them.
[01:22] And some of these heretic things, they look so simple, straightforward.
[01:23] It feels like this is it.
[01:26] But if you look very deep on the inside and study more about the heretic himself who was trying to buttress that particular view or point, you realize that the person still doesn't underscore what scripture is trying to explain.
[01:40] So, let's look at Trinity this morning.
[01:42] Trinity.
[01:43] Trinity.
[01:45] Unity in diversity in God.
[01:50] The most misunderstood One of the most misunderstood doctrines in the Bible is the doctrine of the Trinity.
[01:55] Now, if you want if we organize a group of maybe
[02:02] 10 15 Christians now and you want everywhere to just get hot and a little bit disconnected, you know, in few minutes, just tell every what each person to explain what they understand by the doctrine of Trinity.
[02:19] And people will start giving various explanations.
[02:20] Some of these explanations, they feel like they are very good, they are nice, but some of us don't even know the foundation and the basis and some of the theologians that tried to establish some of these truths that actually the church did not accept the early church fathers did not accept it as um Bible doctrine.
[02:38] They did not accept it as true.
[02:41] They saw it as heresy.
[02:43] Yes, so we need to understand and I'll show us a few of those that many of us would have been using for several years only to realize today that they are not exactly that way.
[02:52] Yes.
[02:55] So, the doctrine of Trinity states that God there is one God who eternally exists.
[03:04] He eternally exists in three distinct persons.
[03:07] Please follow me carefully.
[03:07] There is one God.
[03:13] One God eternally existing in three distinct persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
[03:20] And each fully God.
[03:25] Now, that's where it comes.
[03:29] One God eternally existing as three distinct persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
[03:37] And each, that is the Father or the Son or the Spirit, exists fully as God.
[03:43] That is the Father is God, the Son is God, the Spirit is God.
[03:50] And they share divine nature as God, yet expressing themselves in three expressing themselves in three different persons.
[04:01] Now,
[04:04] It's not a contradiction.
[04:07] It is just an amazing truth of scripture.
[04:11] And that's what I will try to show us carefully this morning.
[04:14] It is not a contradiction.
[04:15] I'll say it again, one God existing in as three distinct persons.
[04:23] And each of the person of this Godhead is fully God.
[04:31] That's it.
[04:32] That's what Trinity is about.
[04:33] In Deuteronomy chapter 6:4, it established the fact that it is one God.
[04:40] That is a foundational monotheism scripture that basically explains that he says, "The Lord your God our God, the Lord is one."
[04:49] Deuteronomy chapter 6:4, "The Lord our God, he is one one God."
[04:58] Yes.
[04:59] Matthew chapter 28:19, let's look at a few stuff scriptures here and there.
[05:05] Since we're trying to give good explanation to things.
[05:09] Matthew chapter 28:19, we begin to see Jesus himself speak about the Trinity very clear, very clear.
[05:19] Matthew 28, please every scripture carefully, every scripture carefully so that we don't mix it up.
[05:25] Matthew 28 verse 19.
[05:30] He said, "Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost."
[05:42] Jesus is speaking here.
[05:44] The Son himself is saying, "When when go teaching the disciples, you know, making disciples of all men, baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit."
[05:54] Did he say baptize them baptize them in the names of the Father?
[05:58] No, in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
[06:00] So, name is singular meaning that it is one.
[06:05] God, yes, expressing himself as Father, Son, and Spirit.
[06:11] In John chapter 1 verse 1, we see John, you know, trying to expound on the um um the subject of Jesus being the word of God, and he said the word in the beginning was the word, the w o r d, and we know that the Bible says that Jesus is shows that Jesus the word of God.
[06:29] And the word was with God.
[06:34] The word was with God, and the word was God.
[06:34] Look at that.
[06:37] In the beginning was the word.
[06:46] In 2 Corinthians chapter 13 verse 14, Apostle Paul trying to give the apostolic benediction, he invoked the three persons of the Godhead.
[06:57] He said, "The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the"
[07:05] Holy Spirit, co-equal, co-eternal.
[07:12] The attributes I mentioned earlier, omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent, three of them share both three attributes together.
[07:20] The Son is omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient, the Spirit like that, the Father like that.
[07:27] Yes.
[07:30] And um the word Trinity does not really appear in scriptures.
[07:33] That means we cannot see any place in the Bible where you see exactly Trinity, but the reality is described and woven in every aspect of scripture from the Old Testament into the New Testament.
[07:44] Let's look at the Old Testament a little bit.
[07:45] In Genesis chapter 1 verse 26, God said, "Let us make man in our own image."
[07:51] Wow, that's serious.
[07:54] Who's God talking to?
[07:55] Of course, God cannot be talking to the angels to come make man, you know, with him.
[07:59] No, God would only have been saying that to the son, which is the word, and
[08:07] The spirit.
[08:10] Now, some people have different beliefs about that or or it is the um um how do they put it now?
[08:17] That it is also a plural form that is used for um kings, as it were.
[08:21] When the king says like my um um how do they put it now?
[08:26] You know, his royal majesty is trying to express something and he's saying us, the kingdom, us, referring to his throne.
[08:36] And his majesty, his position, his office.
[08:38] That cannot be exactly what the scripture is saying here because in many other places in scripture, we now see that God goes ahead to buttress this same point.
[08:46] In Genesis chapter 11 verse 7, you see it.
[08:49] When the Tower of Babel was being built, he said, "Come, let us go down and there confuse their language."
[08:56] You see?
[08:56] So, God is working God is moving like us.
[08:59] He's not moving as, you know, um the singular word.
[09:04] He's using the word plural us.
[09:06] And that expresses the fact.
[09:09] That yes, there is one true Godhead, but there are distinct personalities in the Godhead that God must be referring to.
[09:16] In Isaiah chapter 6 verse Isaiah chapter 6, uh, I'll try to see how simple I can make this, but I I'll try to see how simple I can make this.
[09:29] Isaiah chapter 6 verse 8.
[09:32] Look at what the Bible says there.
[09:35] He says, "Also, I heard the voice of the Lord saying, 'Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?'"
[09:45] Then said I, "Here am I, send me."
[09:50] Can you see that?
[09:50] Us.
[09:50] The word All these are in the Old Testament.
[09:53] In Isaiah chapter 63 verse 10, you know, the Bible says they rebelled.
[09:58] God says that his people, they rebelled and they grieved his Holy Spirit.
[10:02] God is speaking here now.
[10:06] That means.
[10:09] From the Old Testament, you can see a God distinct, the Father and his Holy Spirit distinct.
[10:14] Yes.
[10:14] So, the NIV puts it that way, apparently suggesting that both the Holy Spirit is distinct from God himself, and that the Holy Spirit can be grieved.
[10:24] In the New Testament, we see that they grieve not the Spirit of God.
[10:28] We see it in the New Testament and the old.
[10:30] In the Old Testament, he also says it there likewise.
[10:31] Yes.
[10:35] Um Malachi, if you look at Malachi chapter 3, from verse 1 to 2, look at what the Bible says there.
[10:39] Let me show you.
[10:40] We're trying to show the Trinity in the Old Testament, then we'll bring it to the New Testament.
[10:44] Malachi chapter 3, verse 1 to 2.
[10:47] It says, "Behold, I will send my messenger, and he will shall appear."
[10:52] You shall prepare the way before me.
[10:55] And the Lord, whom you seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom you delight in.
[11:02] Behold, he shall come, saith the Lord of hosts.
[11:05] Can you see it now?
[11:08] The Lord of hosts is saying the.
[11:10] Lord whom you seek shall come.
[11:12] But, who may abide the day of his coming, and who shall stand when he appeared?
[11:17] For he is like a refiner's fire, and like the fuller's soap.
[11:22] Glory to God.
[11:25] So, we can see that in the Old Testament.
[11:27] And again and again in the Old Testament, we continue to see all that here and there.
[11:32] For instance, um there's a Trinitarian application or implication as it were in Isaiah chapter 48 verse 16.
[11:38] Isaiah 48:16 and you will look at it very well, you will see that Trinitarian implication.
[11:51] Isaiah 48:16.
[11:51] Look at what the Bible says here.
[11:54] Come, he said, come you near unto me.
[11:58] Hear you this.
[12:00] I have not spoken in secret from the beginning.
[12:02] From the time that it was, there I am.
[12:08] And now, the Lord God.
[12:12] The Lord God and his spirit has sent me.
[12:18] Look at this now.
[12:19] Look at this.
[12:27] That shows you something.
[12:29] So, the Lord God on one side, spirit on another side, and he said has sent me.
[12:36] Glory to God.
[12:36] Then when we get into the New Testament, it becomes very clear, the Trinity, so clear in the New Testament.
[12:43] When Jesus was baptized, the Bible says the heavens were opened and he saw the spirit of God descending like a dove in a bodily form and a lightning upon him and he said, "Lo, a voice came from heaven and saying, 'This is my beloved son.'"
[12:56] The voice from heaven, of course, that's the voice of the father.
[13:00] He now said, "This is my beloved son."
[13:03] And remember, the spirit was coming upon him as a dove.
[13:05] Look at it now.
[13:07] The spirit coming upon Jesus, the son, which is God, as a dove.
[13:10] The spirit lightning.
[13:13] Upon him.
[13:15] And the father speaking, saying, "This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased."
[13:19] Hear him.
[13:22] So, God the father is speaking from heaven.
[13:24] God the son is being baptized and then spoken to from heaven by the Father and God the Holy Spirit is descending from heaven to rest on God the Son as a confirmation and empowerment for his ministry.
[13:35] Yes, yes, we see that practically in scripture.
[13:38] Matthew chapter 28 verse 19 also he said to them go and baptize them in the name of the Father, Son, and in the Holy Spirit.
[13:47] And you see that benediction also shared that Apostle Paul speaking the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit.
[13:53] So, we cannot but agree that there is such a thing as the Trinity in the Bible.
[13:59] So, let look at some of the controversies and we begin to forge ahead this morning because why do you need to know this?
[14:09] You see we're in the dispensation of knowledge and people.
[14:14] Have a lot of questions and arguments as to our faith and we must be able to give them answers.
[14:20] You cannot just carry your Bible and you're going to church on Sunday morning I'm a Christian I'm a Christian.
[14:24] You cannot explain your faith.
[14:26] You cannot explain the basic tenants, the basic doctrines, the foundational things of the Christian faith.
[14:30] It doesn't make any sense.
[14:32] You must be able to explain them.
[14:35] Yes.
[14:35] Now, the first heresy or the common heretic analogies that people usually give and they're a little bit misleading.
[14:43] Over the years, I must say that I've also found myself then where I I will use those illustrations, but I I usually would use them with an understanding also just that people who sometimes don't give the clear explanation of what they're doing to say that oh, no, this explanation I'm giving at this time, this is what it really means.
[15:04] For instance, whenever I want to explain the theory the Trinity, we use the water example.
[15:10] Water to say that oh, water exists in three states, solid, liquid, and gas and
[15:15] Is the same water.
[15:17] We can use that example, but you see that God in these three modes that we have explained.
[15:24] It's not three persons.
[15:26] It's not one three separate persons simultaneously.
[15:31] That same water as it were cannot exist as solid, liquid, and gas simultaneously.
[15:40] That's the difference.
[15:40] And that will now be modalism.
[15:42] That's another, you know, um, how do I put it now?
[15:47] It's not the um doctrine that the early church fathers accepted.
[15:52] Modalism is what you'll be talking about if you're trying to explain the Trinity in that context.
[16:00] Yes, if you try to explain Trinity in that context, it will no longer be Christianity.
[16:03] It will now be modalism.
[16:04] And what is modalism?
[16:04] Um, modalism is a 2nd century theological doctrine that teaches God is one person.
[16:10] Yes, who manifests in three different modes or.
[16:17] Forms, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
[16:20] Rather than existing eternally as three distinct persons.
[16:24] So, modalism does not say God is existing as three different persons.
[16:29] Rather, it says that God is manifesting himself as three different persons.
[16:34] So, you see, it's very close.
[16:35] So, if care is not taken, you'll be mistaking modalism for um the doctrine of Trinity.
[16:43] Yes, one person agreed, but they said it is three modes.
[16:47] Denial of the eternal existence of God.
[16:50] That means three of them did not exist distinctly eternally, but it is one God in three modes.
[16:55] That's modalism.
[16:58] So, we use that explanation sometimes.
[16:59] We think that we are very correct, but it's also wrong.
[17:01] We have also seen people use the egg example.
[17:03] Many of us are going to be surprised at some of the things I'm sharing this morning, but you need to you need to hold on to that.
[17:10] The egg example where we talk about the um yolk.
[17:13] You now say, "Oh, it is one egg, but it has the yolk, it has the shell and the"
[17:22] Egg white.
[17:23] But, don't forget that it is one egg, but the yolk does not exist in full and carry all the attributes of the white or the shell.
[17:32] So, it is still limited in its way of explaining the Trinity.
[17:35] I'll explain why I'm saying that it's limited in the way it explains Trinity, and that is also modalism.
[17:40] It's also modalism that will bring the fact that God is existing as like a a man who is father, husband, son.
[17:48] Yes, we agree that he is father, husband, son, but son son, as it were, does not carry the attributes of father.
[17:59] Father does not carry attributes of husband, and three of them do not exist distinctly at the same time as one.
[18:06] You see the difference right now.
[18:11] Yes.
[18:12] You see the difference.
[18:12] So, that will be modalism.
[18:13] So, you have to be able to understand Trinity in a different light.
[18:15] Let me explain it now.
[18:17] This is The best way to ex- One of the best ways to explain it is Look at me now, human.
[18:24] Have spirit, soul, and body.
[18:27] Even though my spirit is distinct from my soul and my soul is distinct from my body.
[18:38] My spirit, soul, and body cannot exist simultaneously together in one place like that.
[18:48] I don't know if you understand what I'm saying now.
[18:49] Cannot.
[18:49] Because if I am existing as a spirit, soul, and body, I stand whole as one.
[18:55] When my spirit is separated from my soul, what happens?
[18:57] Death.
[19:01] When my body is separated from my spirit, rather, what happens?
[19:03] Death.
[19:05] That means I cannot exist separately as body without spirit, spirit without soul.
[19:12] But God can exist like the son came to this world.
[19:15] Yes, and the spirit is still in existence.
[19:18] Yes, and the father is still in existence.
[19:21] Yes.
[19:21] That is why it is the mystery of godliness.
[19:23] It is a very deep.
[19:26] Mystery, even though God has given us a little bit insight on how to explain the Trinity.
[19:30] So, if I try to use the human explanation of my spirit, soul, and body, I must also not forget that I am still limited because my body cannot exist separately from my spirit, separately from my soul, and my body have all the attribute of my spirit, attribute of my soul, and the body itself.
[19:47] But in the Godhead, the best explanation is what I just given to us.
[19:51] And if you did a little bit of mathematics, the set theorem.
[19:53] In the set theorem, you have a circle like this, three circles, and the three circles have a meeting point where everything in A, B, C is locked up at the center of everything.
[20:08] Every all the attributes of A, attribute of B, attribute of C at the middle, you see it there.
[20:14] Then A is existing separately, B is existing separately, C is existing separately, but three of them are equal, eternally existent, simultaneously manifesting, and doing.
[20:28] different functions. It is It is It's a
[20:31] powerful mystery. Every explanation we
[20:33] try to use, none of them will be able to
[20:36] fit in perfectly, else we'll begin to
[20:38] move into another theological doctrine
[20:40] that is called Modalism. Yes.
[20:44] So, during the Nicene Decree in 325 AD,
[20:49] they were trying to answer the question
[20:50] as to whether Jesus is fully God. That's
[20:53] another question that we tried to
[20:54] answer. Can you see How can you say that
[20:56] Jesus is fully God? That would be heresy
[20:58] that Jesus cannot be fully God. Jesus
[21:01] was created by God. Jesus is the first
[21:03] creation of God. That's not true. That's
[21:06] not true. At the Council of the bishops
[21:09] in the decree
[21:12] in the
[21:12] what the Nicene Council, they were able
[21:15] to come to the fact that that will be
[21:17] heresy to say that Jesus was created.
[21:22] You know, that he was the first creation
[21:23] of God. And Jehovah Witness
[21:28] denomination still teach that Jesus is
[21:30] the first creation of God. Yes.
[21:33] Some other
[21:34] movement, Pentecostal movement also
[21:37] teach that Jesus Christ is the first
[21:38] creation of God. But that's not what the
[21:40] Bible shows us. If we look straight into
[21:43] the Bible, we will see that in the
[21:44] beginning was the word and the word was
[21:47] with God and the word was God.
[21:51] The Jehovah Witness Bible say and the
[21:52] word was a God. No, and the word was
[21:56] God. It wasn't a mistake. It's clear
[21:59] that way. So, Jesus is fully God in the
[22:02] sense that he is the word of God and you
[22:04] cannot separate God from his word. He is
[22:07] 100% God. He said it, I and my father
[22:11] are one. He made it very clear. He
[22:14] didn't try to, you know, water anything
[22:17] down in any way. He made it very, very
[22:19] clear. I and my father are one. So, we
[22:22] see it in John chapter 1, we see it in
[22:24] Colossians chapter 1 also verse 15.
[22:28] Wow, time runs so fast, man.
[22:33] Colossians
[22:36] Let me try to just give us this one.
[22:37] Colossians chapter 1
[22:39] verse 15 to 20.
[22:41] It says, "Who is the image of the
[22:43] invisible God, the firstborn of every
[22:45] creature. For by him were all things
[22:47] created in heaven and on earth, visible
[22:49] and invisible, whether they be thrones
[22:50] or dominions, principalities or powers.
[22:52] All things were created by him and for
[22:56] him. And he is before all things and by
[22:59] him all things consist. And he is the
[23:02] head of the body, the church, who is the
[23:03] beginning, who is the beginning, the
[23:06] firstborn from the dead, that in all
[23:08] things he might have the preeminence.
[23:10] For it pleases the Father that in him
[23:12] should all the fullness dwell. And
[23:15] having made peace through the blood of
[23:16] his cross, by him to reconcile all
[23:19] things unto himself, by him I say,
[23:21] whether they be things in earth or
[23:23] things in heaven. Glory to God. So, you
[23:25] see that Jesus Christ is fully God. He
[23:29] is fully God.
[23:31] That is where the doctrine of Trinity
[23:33] begins to blow the mind of a lot of
[23:35] people, because only a being that is
[23:38] 100% God and 100% man can save man from
[23:41] sin. And only Jesus qualified to save
[23:44] man because he's 100% God, 100% man. By
[23:47] the time Mary was pregnant, Joseph was
[23:49] not involved. So, it was God himself and
[23:53] given the human body that Mary came
[23:55] with. And eventually when Jesus was
[23:57] born, the child that was born was God,
[23:59] 100% God, 100% man. Angels showed up
[24:02] from heaven down to meet the shepherd to
[24:05] tell them salvation has come.
[24:07] Because God has come to deliver his
[24:09] people. Yes, that is why he is God. He
[24:11] can He finds a way to express himself in
[24:14] such a dynamic and wonderful, you know,
[24:17] a such a dynamic and wonderful creation
[24:19] called Jesus, 100% God, 100% man. Then
[24:23] the Holy Spirit also, that's another
[24:25] one. The problem here is that
[24:27] one of things I'd like to emphasize
[24:28] while I wrap up is that the Holy Spirit
[24:30] has been forgotten by many churches.
[24:33] Now, we have some groups of church
[24:35] Christians who have forgotten the Holy
[24:37] Spirit. They do everything and they
[24:38] don't remember the person of the spirit.
[24:40] Everything they discuss, the Holy Spirit
[24:41] is totally out of it. They just talk
[24:43] about Almighty Father, Almighty Father,
[24:44] oh Jesus, oh Jesus. Many people don't
[24:47] emphasize the Holy Spirit. He is
[24:48] forgotten by the church. And one of
[24:51] things I realized about the Holy Spirit,
[24:52] even in my practical teachings, is that
[24:53] as soon as you start talking about the
[24:55] Holy Spirit, you will see dramatic
[24:57] manifestations of God. I tell you the
[24:59] truth. The Holy Spirit is the one who
[25:01] brings the manifest presence of God. So,
[25:03] if you want to see God in a place,
[25:06] discuss the Holy Spirit. But, many
[25:08] churches have forgotten the discussion
[25:10] about the Holy Spirit of God, hence they
[25:12] see the less manifestation of His
[25:14] presence. Many believers pray throughout
[25:16] the day and they say, "Oh mighty Father,
[25:17] uh praise God. Oh Lord Jesus." Nobody
[25:20] mentions the Holy Spirit. Don't forget
[25:22] He's a distinct personality. Yes, He
[25:24] might not be jealous of course. There's
[25:26] no jealousy in the Godhead. There's
[25:27] perfection in the Godhead. But, you will
[25:29] be missing out on the benefits and the
[25:31] things that the Holy Spirit would have
[25:32] done for you as a person. Jesus said
[25:36] that when the Spirit of truth comes, He
[25:37] will guide you into all truth. So, who's
[25:39] teaching us today? Who's showing us the
[25:41] revelation of the things of God today?
[25:42] It's the Holy Spirit.
[25:44] So, the Holy Spirit is not a feeling.
[25:46] He's not just an emotion. He's not a
[25:47] force. He's not just an energy. He's not
[25:49] just the spirit that has gifts and give
[25:51] gifts to the body of Christ. That's all.
[25:53] No. No. One of the things that we have
[25:55] missed so much, why many people are
[25:57] living lives that does not depict true
[26:00] Christianity, is because they do not
[26:01] know the Holy Spirit as the person who
[26:02] shapes the character of the believer.
[26:04] They know the Holy Spirit as somebody
[26:05] who gives us gifts. So, you hear them
[26:06] speaking in tongues. Rako seketeleba
[26:09] babanamara. The person speaking in
[26:10] tongues is committing fornication. You
[26:12] don't know the Holy Spirit.
[26:14] You cannot be speaking in tongues by the
[26:18] spirit and at the same time you're
[26:20] committing fornication. At the same time
[26:23] you're stealing. At the same time you're
[26:25] living a wayward terrible life. No. The
[26:28] assignment of the Holy Spirit in your
[26:30] life, if you know Him and yield to Him,
[26:33] is that He will shape your character.
[26:35] One of the persons One of the things the
[26:37] Holy Spirit can do for you is to shape
[26:38] your character. In your marriage, He
[26:40] will shape your character. In your
[26:42] business, relating with people, He will
[26:44] shape your character. But, many people
[26:46] know the Holy Spirit as dispenser of
[26:48] gifts to speak in tongues. Holy Spirit
[26:50] as dispenser of gifts to heal the sick,
[26:52] to deliver the oppressed, but they have
[26:54] failed to know him as the transformer of
[26:57] the human nature, the one who transforms
[26:59] you so that Christ is formed in you.
[27:02] Christ is evidently seen in you. God the
[27:05] Holy Spirit is God's agent of change and
[27:08] transformation. That's why he lives in
[27:10] us today. That's why God sees and knows
[27:14] that we can live the holy life. That's
[27:16] why he's called Holy Spirit. If you say
[27:19] you carry the Holy Spirit, you cannot be
[27:21] living an unholy life. If you say you
[27:24] carry the Holy Spirit, you'll be
[27:26] manifesting holiness as part of your
[27:29] life every single day. It is the lack of
[27:32] the consciousness and the awareness of
[27:35] the Holy Spirit and his workings,
[27:37] yielding to his workings in our lives
[27:40] that leads us to start living our lives
[27:42] anyhow. Many believers are like that
[27:43] today. They just go to church. They're
[27:45] not conscious of how they dress, how
[27:47] they appear. They appear anyhow, and
[27:49] they carry the Holy Spirit. They talk
[27:51] anyhow. Foul language, abusive language.
[27:54] They carry the Holy Spirit. They sing
[27:56] gospel song now, and they're enjoying
[27:58] it. Next moment, they're already in the
[28:00] midst and in the abyss of a worldly
[28:02] song, and they say they carry the Holy
[28:04] Spirit. How do you expect that a Holy
[28:06] Spirit and an evil spirit will be
[28:08] flowing from one person's mouth, whether
[28:11] in singing, in communication, and
[28:12] everything? It shows that something is
[28:14] very wrong. It shows that there is no
[28:16] awareness and the consciousness of the
[28:18] person of the Holy Spirit.
[28:21] It's not
[28:22] the consciousness is not there. People
[28:24] believe that they are Yes, Jesus Christ
[28:25] as God Almighty has saved them by the
[28:27] blood of Jesus Christ, but they do not
[28:29] know that through the Holy Spirit, he's
[28:31] sanctifying them daily. They are not
[28:33] willing to yield. So, people have been
[28:34] in church for 2 years, 3 years, 4 years,
[28:36] 5 years, 6 years, sometimes 10, and
[28:39] they're still living the same old life.
[28:41] Jealousy, bitterness, anger, malice,
[28:43] unforgiveness, you You sexual
[28:45] immorality, a lot of things eating deep.
[28:48] Why? They are not yielding to this third
[28:51] person of the Trinity. Many of them do
[28:53] not know him. The day you open up
[28:56] yourself and begin to have an intimate
[28:58] connection and relationship with the
[29:00] Holy Spirit, your life will be in the
[29:02] path of total transformation. I
[29:05] guarantee you. The reason you are not
[29:07] able to break through from certain
[29:08] addictions and many things is because
[29:10] you don't know the Holy Spirit. If you
[29:12] know him, he is the cleanser. I I is the
[29:15] cleanser. I I don't know what better way
[29:17] to say it. I would have just said he's
[29:18] the he's the bubu n'ishe
[29:22] of our faith. He does all things
[29:25] powerful. He can change your character.
[29:27] He can manifest the fullness of the
[29:29] power of God in your life, shape you,
[29:32] teach you what to do, direct you. In
[29:34] fact, Jesus said he would teach you all
[29:36] things.
[29:37] All things. Glory to God.
