[20:45] for that good price. At no point did I

[20:46] feel I was buying a particularly cheap

[20:48] shoe. I paid my 90 odd pounds and got a

[20:50] fantastic value shoe for that. In terms

[20:53] of dislikes, obviously not the easiest

[20:54] shoe to get hold of. You've got to

[20:56] purchase it via AliExpress or Taobao.

[20:58] You can check out our special Chinese

[21:02] buying that. And obviously price

[21:03] fluctuations with this one is a bit of

[21:05] an issue, but overall an absolute gem of

[21:08] a shoe. If you're looking to try a

[21:09] carbon-plated running shoe for the first

[21:11] time, I'd really recommend starting your

[21:13] search here. Next up, we have the Puma

[21:15] Deviate Pure, Puma's plateless speed

[21:18] shoe. Very similar to something like the

[21:21] Adidas Evo SL. A daily shoe that has

[21:23] more of a speed focus. Great for those

[21:26] tempo runs, interval sessions, and it

[21:28] can also eat up those daily miles, as

[21:30] well. Set me back 130 lb, a 38-mil

[21:34] stack, 8-mm drop overall. Really nice

[21:37] and lightweight, as well, 263 g. What I

[21:39] really liked about this shoe, it's

[21:41] light, it's fast, it's fun. Didn't we

[21:43] say that about the Evo SL? This shoe

[21:45] definitely ticks those boxes. The Nitro

[21:47] foam, 100% PEBA foam here, is absolutely

[21:50] fantastic. Amazing grip and stability,

[21:53] as well. Really makes it feel quite

[21:55] nippy, run those corners. Really

[21:58] versatile shoe. Handles all sorts of

[22:00] different paces and distances with ease.

[22:02] And finally, really good price point.

[22:04] That's why it's in the value section. In

[22:06] terms of some negatives, slightly narrow

[22:08] fitting with this. Wider-footed runners

[22:10] are probably going to be best avoiding

[22:12] this one. The tongue did slide down a

[22:14] little bit in my testing, as well, but I

[22:16] did fix it after just slightly

[22:17] relocating those laces. But, overall,

[22:19] really good fun, lightweight, versatile,

[22:22] and fast, as well. Very easy to

[22:24] recommend the shoe at this price point.

[22:26] Moving on, let's have a chat about the

[22:27] worst shoes I've tested in 2026.

[22:29] Starting out with the Nike Pegasus 42, a

[22:32] very dull and uninspiring update they

[22:35] launched this year. Pretty heavy, quite

[22:37] a hard foam, as well. Plus, the price

[22:40] hike, unfortunately, makes it a very

[22:42] tough shoe to recommend, or a very tough

[22:45] running shoe to recommend. It's a really

[22:47] cool-looking shoe. You can wear it

[22:48] casually, walking around, comfortable

[22:50] for a long amount of time, but walking

[22:52] around only. This shoe went casual very

[22:54] quickly for me. So, I think one to

[22:56] avoid. Next up was the New Balance Elip.

[23:00] Crikey, this shoe was boring. I was

[23:01] really looking forward to this one. A

[23:03] really exciting concept, essentially a

[23:05] more affordable version of the 1080, and

[23:08] don't we all need that right now? But, a

[23:10] big marketing budget, big flashy launch,

[23:13] but in the end, the product for me just

[23:15] fell a little bit short. A shoe that

[23:17] definitely felt quite cheap. New Balance

[23:19] said it was cheap, but £130 isn't really

[23:22] that cheap. Too much strong competition

[23:24] at this price point. Essentially,

[23:25] everyone should really just go out and

[23:26] buy an Evo SL or that Puma Pure.

[23:29] Fantastic shoes. So, anyone buying a New

[23:31] Balance Elips, I think really are being

[23:33] a little bit short-changed with that

[23:35] one. And then, next up was the Hoka

[23:37] Skyward X version 2. Oh, this update was

[23:39] so boring for me. I absolutely loved

[23:41] that purple colorway. That was amazing.

[23:43] But, the whole update just left me

[23:45] feeling a little bit disappointed. After

[24:03] some that definitely are, and some that

[24:05] should be coming out in the second half

[24:07] of the year. So, we'll start with the

[24:08] Asics Metaspeed Sky and Edge update

[24:10] should be later on this year. The Hoka

[24:12] Clifton Pro, the Adidas Evo SL 2. That

[24:16] might just well break the internet if

[24:18] that one gets launched. Nike Alphafly

[24:20] version 4, pretty sure that's going to

[24:22] come out for some of the autumn

[24:23] marathons. The New Balance SC Elite

[24:25] version 6, and maybe, well, I've heard

[24:27] it's from pretty good authority, the

[24:29] Asics Megablast version 2. That could

[24:32] break the internet as well. I'm really

[24:34] excited to get that one later on this

[24:35] year because really, the Asics Megablast

[24:38] is one of the best shoes of all time.

[24:40] Now, talking about one of the best shoes

[24:41] of all time, let's have a chat about my

[24:43] best shoe of the year so far in the

[24:45] first half of 2026. So, the shoe I've

[24:47] done the most miles in so far this year

[24:49] has been the Asics Superblast version 3.

[24:53] But, I think it would be a little bit

[24:54] different if I had had that Dynafit in

[24:56] earlier on this year because that's now

[24:58] the shoe that is rapidly catching that

[25:00] one up. It's one of the best shoes I've

[25:02] ever run in. It's absolutely amazing

[25:04] just how good that shoe is. It's not

[25:06] perfect by any means, but I really think

[25:08] that's the best shoe of 2026 so far.

[25:11] Really excited to see what will reign

[25:13] supreme at the end of the year. So, get
