# Matt Walsh IS Racist

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKoPaeNCypI

[00:00] hey it's me the soy pill recently you
[00:02] may have gotten an ad for Matt Walsh's
[00:04] dumb movie no not that one no not that
[00:06] one no that's from the other Matt Walsh
[00:08] that's the one am I racist and it's not
[00:10] a daily wire exclusive quarantined off
[00:13] for the good of the population on The
[00:15] Daily wire plus it played in actual real
[00:18] life theaters for real life people it
[00:20] was the highest grossing documentary of
[00:22] 2024 edging out blockbuster hits like
[00:25] Jesus thirsts and Cat video Fest 2024
[00:29] a political viewers like Jeremy John's
[00:32] said they liked it had myself a good
[00:33] time and some good laughs the world's
[00:35] largest egg said it was very funny your
[00:38] movie is really funny and after seeing
[00:40] one too many ads I had to check it out
[00:42] it's time to sit my white down and
[00:44] listen despite the implications of the
[00:47] title No this movie is not a
[00:49] soul-searching adventure where Matt
[00:51] Walsh begins to question his
[00:52] conservative beliefs and whether they
[00:54] give him biases against certain peoples
[00:57] instead it's a Borat style mockumentary
[00:59] film film where Matt Walsh goes
[01:01] undercover and exposes the Dei industry
[01:04] as a ridiculous and dangerous ideology
[01:07] and you know what I don't hate this
[01:09] concept what sure I'm going into this
[01:11] with a bias as an anti- daily wire
[01:13] libtard but there are aspects of the DEI
[01:16] industry that are worth criticism now
[01:18] before you chew me out for being racist
[01:20] let me explain the difference between
[01:22] Dei in the literal sense and Dei as it's
[01:25] meant in the Dei industry Dei stands for
[01:29] diversity equity and inclusion what's
[01:31] wrong with that well in principle
[01:33] nothing diversity means a diverse or
[01:36] variety of backgrounds and people Equity
[01:38] means a Level Playing Field for all
[01:40] people taking into account these
[01:42] different backgrounds and inclusion just
[01:44] means making sure no one is excluded
[01:46] especially based on those different
[01:48] backgrounds are you playing some
[01:53] basketball so unless you work in the
[01:55] major Tech sectors chances are any Dei
[01:59] exposure you've had is pretty reasonable
[02:01] maybe you had a quick online training or
[02:03] saw a pamphlet or poster on the wall.
[02:06] that said if you host a company dinner.
[02:08] ask if anyone has diet restrictions.
[02:10] make sure everyone has a voice in meetings.
[02:12] don't exclusively hire one demographic of people for a whole team.
[02:17] don't discriminate against old people in your heavy manual labor job.
[02:20] now the Dei industry can be a lot more cringe and a lot less reasonable.
[02:26] this is stuff like Robin D'Angelo's book White fragility which is rooted in the truth that there are systems of racism that go beyond individuals.
[02:36] stuff like redlining implicit biases Etc.
[02:39] but then her book boils down to this there are systems of racism all white people benefit from these systems.
[02:43] we academics call this white supremacist which we explicitly acknowledge is not the definition that most people use.
[02:50] white people get mad when their work gives them mandated Dei training in which I tell them they're complicit in the white supremacist system.
[02:59] oh no why is everyone getting so defensive when I describe
[03:04] them using language that they associate with the KKK.
[03:06] I know this is hard to believe but people hate mandatory work events where they get free food.
[03:10] So they're going to get pretty annoyed when you force them into a boring PowerPoint for 3 hours and call them racist and complicit in white supremacy.
[03:21] Even if you're correct by your esoteric academic definition, the DEI industry also produces things like this adult anti-racism workbook that asks you to do the work to end racism with such activities as a calendar for how you plan on healing racism this month, racial Jerry mandering, connect the dots, a check your privilege checklist, a multi-choice quiz on when to call the police on suspicious people of color.
[03:48] The answer to all of which is never a Lavar Burton coloring page.
[03:51] Okay, wait, this one's kind of cool.
[03:52] Butterfly in the sky, I can fly twice as high.
[03:58] It's coming from a good place and it's probably rooted in truth, but as we'll soon see in the film, it can quickly spiral into some.
[04:04] of the craziest you've ever heard.
[04:06] So Matt Walsh has the perfect opportunity here to use the Borat formula, infiltrate these crazy DEI workshops, expose them, and use his liberal character to push these DEI industry folks to say even more ridiculous stuff.
[04:20] Unfortunately for several reasons, he and the Daily Wire crew fail horribly at this.
[04:24] So let's take a look at Matt's shortcomings.
[04:27] But first, I noticed the film was not simply a Daily Wire production.
[04:31] It was also produced by this company called Digital Astronaut.
[04:35] Their mission statement is to create entertaining content that brings important issues relevant to society out into the light where they can be freely discussed.
[04:45] And the only two movies they've produced are Matt Walsh's two movies, and they're founded by a guy who can't afford a tailor despite being funded by a billionaire.
[04:52] Anyway, problem number one, the framing, AKA, I'm just a guy asking questions.
[04:58] Remember that this film was marketed in mainstream theaters where people don't know who Matt Walsh.
[05:05] is which means Matt has to approach this.
[05:07] not as inherently critical of the Dei system but as just a normal guy asking questions.
[05:10] coffee yes thank you.
[05:13] how do you take it black that was awkward.
[05:15] should I not have said black that's how I like my coffee.
[05:19] wait am I racist what is racism and this may be the only framing in the movie that actually works.
[05:27] because yes if you approach this as a normal person you'll see that the Dei industry can be kind of ridiculous.
[05:34] the problem is that Matt Walsh is not a normal person he's an obnoxiously smug conservative pundit from a collection of failed screenwriters and actors who's going into this film with an agenda.
[05:44] an agenda that I think actually hurts his messaging.
[05:49] part of the problem is that Matt doesn't actually understand the people he's trying to expose.
[05:55] the easy part to show is that they say crazy stuff and charge a bunch of money for their dumb workshops and interviews but a literal monkey could expose this surface level silliness and yeah Matt.
[06:06] accomplishes this by owning a camera and meeting these people but that's about as deep as he gets to display just how dumb Matt is.
[06:12] we have to skip to the end of the movie where the lesson he learns was actually the thing that he thought the whole time.
[06:18] the anti-racist industry says that America is racist down to its bones and if that were true there wouldn't be anything we could do about it.
[06:25] white people could only wallow in their guilt and black people in their victimhood except that's not what any of these people no matter how crazy propose.
[06:35] they think the system is racist that all white people participate in it and are racist to some degree but their entire thesis is that these things can be rectified by doing the work reparations anti-racist workshops Etc.
[06:50] their problem comes from a gross misunderstanding of people that disagree with them and when doing the work incorporates a bunch of nonsense that no one who doesn't are buy into the ideology would ever do.
[07:03] take a look it's in a book Reading Rainbow.
[07:06] there's a Grand Canyon sized gap between saying that we can always be working on our unconscious biases and no single person can undo systemic racism and saying that nothing will ever change you can never undo anything so go feel guilty and self-flatulate sorry I'm white sorry I'm male.
[07:24] there's a montage in the movie where he takes a Dei course which apparently lets you take unlimited times until you pass and attends a private workshop but he sort of skips over any of the substantive messages that the people are trying to convey.
[07:40] Matt only shows you the smallest bits out of context that display what he already thinks their whole agenda is.
[07:47] I've been told because I'm a white male I'm kind of at the top of the pile how do I get down from the top if I I say I don't want that advantage.
[07:54] I don't think you necessarily can.
[07:56] there's also a scene where he pretends to be interested in the anti-racism books at the bookstore and buys them all and then reads one but to be honest I don't even think he read.
[08:07] the one Robin D'Angelo book because if he did he would have a better understanding of the ideology he's against and how to mock it but of course we knew Matt never intended on being open-minded in his movie what is a woman he asks a very smart person an open-ended question and as soon as we get his nuanced and thoughtful response Matt fast forwards through it we've got jender and what what's the difference between the two is there a difference what I think is often misleading about that characterization is allowed to be sort of messy and complicated discreet constructs studies Scholars I'll elaborate on his lack of understanding more as we combine this with his poor acting and comedy skills in problem two Matt Walsh can't act and isn't funny and fails to expose the Dei industry because No One Believes his .
[08:54] so Matt Walsh is trying to follow the Borat formula this movie has drawn comparisons to Borat and and I and I think that I mean there are some comparisons there and I'm flattered by the comparisons because borat's a hilarious film but the original Borat worked really well not only because he was a wacky character in
[09:09] wacky situations but also because Sasha Baron Cohen was able to use this sexist, racist, anti-semitic and genuinely stupid character to expose real people's prejudice.
[09:21] When he gets into these situations surrounded by people that he finds abhorrent, he's able to blend in and uses his character to get them to escalate their bad ideas.
[09:31] He got people to say that they wanted slavery back.
[09:33] Are women your slaves in Russia?
[09:36] No.
[09:36] Do you have a slaves here?
[09:39] We wish no slaves.
[09:39] We wish it would be better country there.
[09:41] Yes, there would be better country.
[09:42] We should have slaves.
[09:44] He got a room full of rednecks to chant, 'Throw the Jew down the well! Throw the Jew down the well!'
[09:51] The Borat also worked on a meta level.
[09:53] A lot of people who liked Borat didn't even like it for exposing crazy Americans.
[09:57] They just liked him for being a runchy, racist, sexist cartoon character.
[10:02] Which in and of itself exposed those audience members for thinking like Borat.
[10:04] It's genius.
[10:07] And in his newer series, who
[10:09] Is America Cohen got prominent conservatives and even lawmakers to support a kindergarten firearm defense course called Kinder Guardians?
[10:18] Typically members of Congress don't just hear a story about a program and then indicate whether they support it or not.
[10:23] I support the Kinder Guardians program.
[10:25] Don't even get me started on how he trained some of these people in self-defense.
[10:27] In America, Amica, there is one forbidden world.
[10:30] It is the N-word.
[10:33] You have three seconds to attract attention.
[10:38] Go now.
[10:38] In Matt's defense, Borat had only existed as a template for 18 years, so he didn't have a lot of time to study and learn it.
[10:45] So Matt needs to be like Borat.
[10:47] He needs to make himself appear to be one of them, agree with their ridiculous ideas, and make them expand to even more ridiculous ideas.
[10:54] The problem is Matt's lack of understanding and conservative grievances makes his undercover character a straw man too silly to be taken seriously by many of the people he's trying to fool.
[11:04] Sure, it's funny to the people in The Daily Wire audience, but a bunch of his victims, including the
[11:10] very first Workshop he thought to include sus him out extremely quickly.
[11:15] the first Workshop starts off with a grounded meditation that allows participants to be fully present in the Dei space.
[11:21] typically I like to open up the space with a brief meditation.
[11:24] please ground yourself in your seat just to allow yourself to be fully present in the space.
[11:31] you couldn't ask for a more perfect stereotypical liberal moment to just sit back and film.
[11:36] so of course Matt comes in late interrupts and draws attention to himself.
[11:41] are we meditating okay.
[11:47] sorry the circle then gives introductions including their pronouns.
[11:49] which gives Matt the opportunity to highlight any strange or awkward answers.
[11:56] but somehow he only shows two introductions.
[11:58] the the first is this incredibly normal person's incredibly normal answer.
[12:03] my name is Dan my pronouns are he him I'm feeling excited.
[12:07] the weirdest compliment I think I've ever received I was in an online dating.
[12:11] sphere and I've gotten the you look much better in person.
[12:14] he's happy endearing and makes everyone laugh.
[12:17] the second is Matt Walsh where we get our first taste of just how bad he is at this.
[12:22] he stands up for no reason if you want to stand okay.
[12:26] has a failed attempt at a pronoun joke.
[12:29] I'm Steven pronouns I'll I'll you know I have to get back to you on that.
[12:34] um tries to repeat the language of the people that he finds cringe in a way that suggests he's being sardonic because he resents this ideology and can't help himself.
[12:45] I'm feeling excited I'm feeling excited present just allow yourself to be fully present.
[12:52] and gives a madeup anecdote that wasn't really funny and makes this lady almost laugh at him.
[12:56] the strangest ever gotten is I've been complimented on the number of black friends that I that I have sometimes it comes up.
[13:01] but um that's I really want to emphasize just how bad he's doing right off the bat.
[13:06] Matt can only embody his
[13:11] misguided Notions of what a liberal would do which as we see in every scene confuses and differentiates himself from every liberal ever he's drawn unnecessary attention to himself by acting weird and out of place but he's supposed to be blending in and getting these people to escalate.
[13:28] if you wanted to make fun of pronouns he could have said his pronouns were she her given his appearance some people might be thrown off by that but because these people are incredibly respectful as we'll see later they would have been gendering him as a woman for the rest of the workshop.
[13:41] that's exactly the kind of thing that would have achieved Matt's goal of making your average non-culture War poisoned viewer see these people as over-the-top and ridiculous instead he accidentally ju opposes himself next to the most normal endearing man ever and makes himself look like a stupid.
[13:59] keep in mind Matt has full creative control over all of the editing in this film everything you see is what he thinks makes him look the best and everyone else look weird.
[14:08] the workshop leader gives Matt another opportunity to
[14:12] play off of ridiculousness if I'm going to be quite Frank when I do this work in these types of circles I'm not safe.
[14:19] now what she means by this as Robin D'Angelo talks about in her book is that when white people get faced with the idea that they may be contributing to racism or have done something to hurt others they might get uncomfortable push back and maybe make her feel uneasy not because she's afraid of getting attacked but because it can be exhausting to explain things to people who are recalcitrant but her language is pretty extreme.
[14:42] I feel unsafe in this environment is the kind of language you use when you're attending a traditional Saudi gun jumping dance.
[14:56] recital not when you're in a room full of of rich white people paying you money to teach them about racism.
[15:01] my promise to the black community is to lean into being brave and to love and inconvenient ways.
[15:10] so what do you do with this I don't know play into it mention how being in
[15:15] predominantly black spaces makes you feel unsafe cuz you're worried that your microaggressions will make them attack you.
[15:25] Matt asks a reasonable question and doesn't try to make a joke allowing her to elaborate.
[15:30] why are you not safe in the circle?
[15:32] being a an African-American and primarily white spaces is not safe for me mentally.
[15:40] but Matt goes on to immediately undermine this by giving a cringy performative statement where he fake cries and rambles.
[15:47] well I'm here on a journey towards a brighter future my promise to myself is love to love myself struggle so much with it in my life to love myself be better in so many better ways to better myself to better the world and I know that I haven't been better.
[16:06] he even includes clips of all the people immediately seeing this as weird out of place and cringey.
[16:11] he then proceeds to interrupt a bunch of people preventing
[16:15] us from seeing real cringy answers and whenever he does this incredibly rude and unfunny interrupting the circle.
[16:21] actually treats him respectfully as if he's a child causing a nuisance.
[16:26] I am here with the intention to understand and learn dig a little bit.
[16:32] I'm sorry, can I I forgot one other thing.
[16:34] I wanted to promise to the black community it's really important that we don't interact each other during the group.
[16:38] The promise that I'm making to myself is to be heard uh to that's what I was going to say.
[16:44] Right, please allow her finish.
[16:46] He's so lame that even the workshop leader made me laugh more.
[16:48] I wanted to promise we can circle back around.
[16:51] Are we going to circle back around?
[16:53] No, and we see that when Matt just shuts the up, we get some pretty good content from these people.
[17:00] What do you feel when you hear the term white people cringe about it?
[17:02] Cringe.
[17:06] Yeah, pick a word, but that's a very good one.
[17:08] A little anchor whiteness as um that lie.
[17:15] just the thing about for a moment thank you.
[17:18] appreciate that well guess not Matt had to fake cry and excuse himself.
[17:20] because he can't hold in all the fued up things he wants to scream at this woman.
[17:26] and while he's gone they Google him and find out who he is because he made it so obvious that he's out of place.
[17:32] and when he comes back they ask him to leave in the nicest way possible.
[17:34] I would really appreciate it if you left so that the people who actually want to be here and deserve to be here can get what they need.
[17:41] can you please leave.
[17:45] come with me well thank you I didn't I didn't consent to be touched.
[17:53] also he acts incredulous that they feel actually unsafe knowing who he is.
[17:58] I just want to know that like my physical safety and yours and everybody else's here is okay.
[18:02] why would your physical safety not be okay.
[18:04] implying that his very presence physically intimidates them but no Matt it's because they know you have an army of millions of rabid fans who do stuff like
[18:15] This when they get mad.
[18:18] So Matt did capture a couple cringey lines but ultimately only succeeded in making himself look like an annoying [nbsp __ ] and having me sympathize with the people people he's trying to make look bad.
[18:28] And what did he learn from this?
[18:30] That he needs to shut up and let the weird people talk.
[18:33] That he should learn to act and improvise better and really let them expand on their silly ideas.
[18:38] No, Matt decides he needs a better disguise and puts on a man bun wig.
[18:43] If I want to be an ally I need to look like one.
[18:46] But he already looked like a hipster liberal.
[18:48] You weren't discovered because you look conservative.
[18:53] You were discovered because you're a bad actor and comedian.
[18:55] Is it cuz I said I had 17 black friends?
[18:57] It might have been 15, it depends on how you count them.
[19:02] And the real reason you didn't need a disguise in the first place is because you aren't interesting or famous enough to be recognized by normal people.
[19:09] Also, wait, as part of his disguise he pulls up his pants to show his ankles.
[19:12] Was this a
[19:17] joke is this a liberal stereotype?
[19:19] conservative explain the next prominent.
[19:22] infiltration is this race to dinner?
[19:24] event now these hosts are pretty insane.
[19:27] we get to hear them say a lot of insane stuff because Matt wasn't allowed to participate.
[19:31] so he had to infiltrate as a waiter meaning he can't interrupt as much.
[19:34] you cannot separate yourselves from the bad white people.
[19:37] the Second Amendment which is literally synonymous with white supremacy.
[19:42] to be clear what's happening in this country it's Nazism.
[19:44] Republicans are Nazis.
[19:46] hey editing soy pill here this one's less crazy after Elon did this at the inauguration.
[19:51] but of course it's his movie so he has to draw attention to himself and derail everything.
[19:57] this country is a piece of.
[19:59] oh I used to be a white woman an unsuccessful one.
[20:02] all you do is talk about each other.
[20:04] talk oh my God I'm soad that's all they do.
[20:09] sorry white people are starved for these conversations.
[20:12] we are we're so starving.
[20:13] yeah we are so starving for this.
[20:15] you need to shut the up his.
[20:19] intrusions had absolutely nothing to
[20:21] their rhetoric and instead make them
[20:23] angry and frustrated and again people
[20:25] immediately sus him out as an actor is
[20:29] he an actor and he's are you an actor
[20:31] can you let us we're trying to listen
[20:33] and trying to have this conversation his
[20:35] only escalation is this moment can I
[20:37] just can I just say one last thing can I
[20:39] just propose a toast raise a glass if
[20:40] you're racist and that's the thing in
[20:43] another timeline getting these people to
[20:45] toast to their own racism could have
[20:47] been a good escalation but after all
[20:49] that it looks like they're just humoring
[20:51] him so he'll leave and let them continue
[20:53] good job Matt you once again were so
[20:55] annoying and unfunny you made me
[20:57] sympathize with the people who said this
[21:00] the entire system has to burn and I'm
[21:02] not going to even use save this country
[21:03] this country is not worth saving problem
[21:05] three Matt's Street interviews kind of
[21:07] undermine his message some of the
[21:09] infiltrations are interspersed with
[21:11] Street footage where Matt talks with
[21:13] random people for most of these his
[21:15] intention is to show that most people
[21:17] aren't on board with this Dei stuff Matt
[21:20] says something that he's heard from the
[21:21] Dei folks and people reject it just talk
[21:24] to me about uh decentering your
[21:25] whiteness why do I have to go away from
[21:28] from my whiteness what are some ways
[21:30] that you're um confronting your
[21:32] whiteness well what and this kind of
[21:35] undermines one of his major points about
[21:38] how crazy the left is like yeah most
[21:40] people do find this stuff ridiculous
[21:43] this isn't even mainstream with your
[21:45] average Democrat what is Dei maybe
[21:47] you're spending millions of dollars and
[21:49] thousands of man hours complaining about
[21:51] something that's not that big a deal oh
[21:54] Robin D'Angelo is a New York Times
[21:56] best-selling author you know who else is
[21:58] back people on your stupid fing Network
[22:01] I'll give credit to Matt the closest he
[22:03] gets to good satire is when he gets
[22:05] people to sign a petition to turn the
[22:07] Washington Monument into the George
[22:09] Floyd Monument would you mind signing
[22:12] I'll see why not okay I will that's a
[22:14] perfect example of what this whole movie
[22:16] should have been slightly exaggerated
[22:18] themes of the actual claims that you can
[22:21] get people to agree with but then he
[22:22] caps this moment off with people saying
[22:24] it's dumb so he can't even portray it
[22:26] properly would you be willing to
[22:29] can't agree with that we sign it yeah
[22:32] but the biggest issue I have with these
[22:34] Street interviews is that Matt tries to
[22:36] use them to show that racism isn't a
[22:39] real problem a lot of people pretty
[22:41] critical of uh of this country and you
[22:44] know they could be kind of a racist
[22:45] country no no no no it's funny because
[22:48] one of the people he interviews says
[22:50] that he has immediate relatives that
[22:52] were in the KKK what do you think about
[22:54] racism in society is it you think it's a
[22:56] big problem my dad my uncle my
[23:00] granddaddy or Clansman you don't have
[23:02] you're not no racist no like buddy
[23:05] that's great if you're not racist but
[23:07] people that close to you were in one of
[23:09] the most notorious racist groups in
[23:12] modern history and as much as I wish it
[23:14] was the Civil Rights Act was not a
[23:16] magical scroll that disintegrated all
[23:19] the racists and this leads into problem
[23:21] number four uh actually racism isn't a
[23:24] big deal Matt Walsh is not just asking
[23:26] questions he wants you to think that
[23:28] racism is over and not a problem anymore
[23:31] how well first it takes news clips of
[23:33] people describing the real trend of hate
[23:36] crimes increasing which is hot take not
[23:39] good and then plays a montage of some of
[23:42] the hoaxes to imply that most if not all
[23:44] of them are now there's an interesting
[23:47] paper from the doj about hate crimes
[23:49] Under reporting and the trends but the
[23:51] first thing you should know is that most
[23:53] hate crimes are classified as such
[23:55] because someone used some slur or bigot
[23:58] language during an assault and race is
[24:01] of course the number one cided
[24:02] demographic this study claims that there
[24:04] are up to
[24:06] 250,000 hate crimes a year most of which
[24:09] go unreported given the fact that the
[24:11] difference between a hate crime and a
[24:13] normal assault can be one word it's not
[24:16] that hard to believe how often it
[24:18] happens my method to prove this would be
[24:20] to tell you to go to any blue collar job
[24:22] ever and record the number of slurs per
[24:25] minute when there's no customers around
[24:27] and you're am I yeah yeah you are oh
[24:29] yeah that's rich is it is it fing rich
[24:32] is it fing Rich you want to get the out
[24:34] of my face shut the up now if you don't
[24:39] trust this papers methodology or my
[24:41] foolproof method Matt was kind enough to
[24:43] interview Wilford Riley PhD and author
[24:47] of hate crime hoax another small credit
[24:49] to Matt this is good comedic
[24:55] timing hate crimes
[25:00] Riley's book posits that a substantial
[25:02] number of the yearly reported hate
[25:04] crimes are hoaxes well out of what 20
[25:07] million index crimes a year there are
[25:10] 6,000 7,000 hate crimes no there's no
[25:12] epidemic don't the statistics show that
[25:15] anti-black hate crimes are a huge
[25:17] problem well I think that depends on
[25:18] your definition of a huge problem so
[25:21] first of all the it's not a huge problem
[25:24] number is 7,000 so that's like 19 hate
[25:27] crimes a day day is it the biggest
[25:29] problem in the country of course not but
[25:31] acting like this is an indication that
[25:33] racism is gone is ridiculous then you of
[25:36] course have to compare the 250,000
[25:39] number to the 7,000 so you can either
[25:41] trust the doj's comprehensive study or
[25:44] like this one dude now hoaxes happen of
[25:47] course and they really hang on the Jesse
[25:50] Smet one because it was blown up in the
[25:52] media which is fair cuz that case was
[25:54] really stupid he hired two black guys to
[25:57] pretend to be white Maga hat guys beat
[25:59] him up and tia noose around his neck but
[26:02] everyone should have seen through this
[26:03] story immediately because it hinges
[26:06] entirely on the fact that two white
[26:08] racist Maga guys recognized a lead from
[26:11] the all black music drama series Empire
[26:15] I heard as I was crossing the
[26:18] intersection I heard Empire holy [ __ ] is
[26:21] that Tony high tower from Tyler Perry's
[26:24] media on the Run get him the point is
[26:28] even even if we were generous and said
[26:30] half of them were made up there's still
[26:32] thousands happening every year and
[26:34] that's not good if Matt Walsh was smart
[26:37] instead of denying reality he could have
[26:39] pointed out the correct conclusion that
[26:41] the kind of people that voluntarily sign
[26:44] up for Dei trainings probably aren't
[26:47] committing hate crimes before or after
[26:49] these workshops problem 635 Matt fumbles
[26:53] so hard he could probably burn cereal
[26:55] the final thing to focus on is Matt's
[26:57] Big interview with Robin D'Angelo
[27:00] herself I briefly mentioned what I think
[27:01] of Robin D'Angelo she has ideas rooted
[27:04] in real problems like systemic Injustice
[27:07] and racial biases but she takes it to
[27:09] such an extreme that I find it insane
[27:11] that anyone ever took her seriously sure
[27:14] it's good to reflect on racist
[27:16] assumptions or not to get defensive if
[27:18] someone calls you out for doing
[27:20] something problematic but she presents
[27:22] these ideas in such a strict and
[27:24] self-affirming ideology so that anyone
[27:27] who pushes back against any of her ideas
[27:29] automatically fits her category of a
[27:32] fragile white person I know color
[27:34] blindness will make you ignorant of
[27:36] other people's backgrounds perspectives
[27:39] and history but Robin absolutely loops
[27:42] around to the okay you're so sensitive
[27:45] about this that you're actually kind of
[27:46] racist when I go to the grocery store I
[27:48] see a black person I feel almost an
[27:50] uncontrollable sense of urgency to
[27:52] signal to them that I'm okay and that
[27:55] I'm not racist and that they're welcome
[27:57] so should be a gold mine for Matt he has
[28:00] an audience with the most famous person
[28:03] in the whole Dei industry whose name you
[28:05] probably didn't know until this video
[28:07] who has some pretty stupid racial views
[28:10] this is presented as the big moment
[28:13] let's watch him it up first he asks a
[28:15] bunch of questions with nuanced answers
[28:17] that he probably cut out for example is
[28:20] it possible for a white person to not
[28:22] have privilege is there any way to get
[28:24] rid of uh White Privilege you can't just
[28:26] opt out you can do your best to
[28:28] challenge it that that in a way is
[28:30] opting out Robin correctly points out
[28:32] that you can't just make everyone treat
[28:34] everyone else the same overnight and you
[28:36] can only really change yourself in the
[28:38] short term this is what Matt later
[28:40] frames as we can never ever fix racism
[28:43] then Matt tries to roleplay he pretends
[28:45] to be an incredibly obtuse person of
[28:48] color that's mad at Robin for smiling at
[28:50] them and also not smiling at them I
[28:52] noticed uh you passed by me in the hall
[28:54] you were really overdoing the smile
[28:56] certainly would not have intended to to
[28:58] have that impact on you but I'm very
[28:59] clear that I did have that impact on you
[29:01] I would love to offer you a repair if if
[29:04] that's something you're ready for when
[29:05] I'm ready to talk I'll talk to you
[29:07] understood hi Robin this time you didn't
[29:09] even smile at all I don't feel
[29:11] comfortable with you in this workplace
[29:12] I'm a little bit confused about how best
[29:14] to proceed I I can't I can't deny that I
[29:16] am would you be willing to give me some
[29:18] guidance I don't think it's up to me to
[29:19] educate you understood and somehow Robin
[29:22] gives the most respectful and reasonable
[29:25] response to his stupid straw man
[29:27] character completely humoring him and
[29:30] looking like an amicable and
[29:31] level-headed person remember that this
[29:34] is all edited by Matt Walsh and his team
[29:36] to make her look as bad as possible and
[29:39] finally in maybe the most baffling
[29:42] moment of the entire movie Matt attempts
[29:44] to escalate by trying to get Robin to
[29:47] personally give reparations to his Black
[29:50] producer first he does it himself I want
[29:53] to pay you reparations right now will
[29:55] you accept I I won't turn it down and
[29:58] Robin sees through this performative
[30:00] [ __ ] and laughs that pay any that
[30:04] was really weird yeah the woman who said
[30:06] I feel a compelling urge to signal to
[30:09] black people in the grocery store that
[30:11] I'm an ally thinks you're being weird
[30:14] she explains herself saying yeah you can
[30:16] give him some money but reparations
[30:19] would have to be systemic to actually do
[30:21] anything and what you just did was a
[30:23] mostly meaningless gesture it just
[30:25] seemed like it's not a systemic approach
[30:28] this is of course too nuanced for Matt
[30:30] who again uses his straw man idea of
[30:32] leftist language to try to coers her
[30:34] into doing it it's not cuz I'm not
[30:36] waiting for the system I'm acting as an
[30:38] individual and I say coer cuz they all
[30:40] but Rob her in the scene by pressuring
[30:42] her to give
[30:46] money I can go get some cash for sure
[30:48] and she only does it so that they can
[30:50] move on because even she thinks it's
[30:52] stupid thanks you're welcome I think he
[30:55] genuinely could have gotten her on board
[30:57] with some sort of racial reparations or
[31:00] even a racial tax if he framed it the
[31:02] right way but this is such a big fumble
[31:05] that I truly can't believe he bragged
[31:08] about it and we didn't force her to do
[31:10] anything she does ultimately pay
[31:12] reparations spoiler alert but um she did
[31:14] that to herself uh we didn't do that I'm
[31:16] afraid to
[31:23] say I can go get some cash for sure the
[31:26] scene exemplifies I the problems with
[31:29] the whole movie he doesn't understand
[31:31] their actual positions so his attempts
[31:33] at escalation are so out of touch that
[31:35] even the craziest people think he's
[31:37] being silly they immediately see through
[31:40] his bad performance the worst things are
[31:42] said completely absent of his input and
[31:44] almost every win he gets over these
[31:47] people involves his coercion to the
[31:49] point where he may as well not have done
[31:51] it since they're only doing it to get
[31:52] him to shut up now I didn't have time to
[31:55] delve into everything like the cringy
[31:57] spoke anti- Dei rap
[32:01] [Music]
[32:04] soundtrack Matt going on TV shows and
[32:07] ruining a reporter's day tell us about
[32:09] your journey I think it's doing more
[32:11] harm than good this whole thing's a scam
[32:13] I don't know I got to
[32:15] go and every other person that saw
[32:18] through his dumb facade but you're
[32:19] stretching up like this out of your
[32:23] whiteness okay so you're decentering
[32:25] your whiteness you're stretching out of
[32:27] but don't take my word for it I
[32:28] recommend that you purchase this movie
[32:30] at full price on the Pirate Bay this
[32:32] movie could have been a good expose on
[32:34] the dumb Dei trainings being a Griff to
[32:38] exploit white guilt for way too much
[32:40] money at best it did get some good
[32:42] footage of the crazy things these people
[32:44] say but instead of playing into that and
[32:46] escalating it naturally Matt Walsh
[32:48] completely derails it whenever it gets
[32:50] good the best parts of the movie are
[32:52] when Matt isn't even on screen and even
[32:54] Matt agrees with that because his best
[32:56] moments flashback Montage barely
[32:58] features him at all these Dei industry
[33:01] Workshops can be lame but as Matt showed
[33:04] they're pretty unpopular with most
[33:05] normal people whether it's the language
[33:08] like telling people that only white
[33:10] people can be racist the performative
[33:12] exercises or ultimately the failure to
[33:14] communicate academic Concepts to the
[33:17] Layman they just don't resonate with
[33:18] most and that sucks because teaching
[33:20] about unconscious bias the downstream
[33:23] effects of historic racism sensitivity
[33:26] and inclusion of others is something
[33:27] something I strongly support racism is
[33:30] nowhere near as bad as it's ever been in
[33:32] this country but we're not postracial
[33:35] and we could do a lot better but in the
[33:36] end even if Matt did a good job of
[33:39] exposing the worst parts of the Dei
[33:41] industry it wouldn't make a huge
[33:43] difference to me because yeah Matt Walsh
[33:45] you are racist but while the left
[33:47] Democrats and protesters put all the
[33:49] blame on the police officer as per usual
[33:52] I think we need to start asking some
[33:53] questions about the personal
[33:54] responsibility of the suspect ever since
[33:57] the beginning of time teenage girls have
[33:59] been getting pregnant I'm more worried
[34:00] about you know about him
[34:03] muhamed that I am worried about Tony
[34:05] bagels or Bobby glasses or baby Shacks
[34:07] or meatball if you take away the
[34:09] Anglo-Saxon culture which is what
[34:10] started this damn country race or
[34:12] culture like what do you what do you
[34:13] promote oh you can't separate them
[34:16] they're they're the same a country is
[34:18] more than just a border what I like most
[34:21] is the is the culture philosophy that
[34:22] was distinctly Western Anglo Saxon when
[34:25] these other groups come when the
[34:27] original inhabiters habit well the
[34:29] original habites of course we Native
[34:30] America but forget about that second
[34:31] there what else has we're bringing in a
[34:33] flood of immigrants over the southern
[34:34] border non-white we're putting policies
[34:36] in place with the express purpose of
[34:38] having fewer white people in
[34:40] universities and in positions of power
[34:42] and we're celebrating the reduction in
[34:44] the white population it sounds like you
[34:47] want to replace white people black
[34:50] Americans are doing better here today
[34:52] than they would be had their ancestors
[34:54] Generations ago never been brought to
[34:56] these Shores all of us today would be in
[34:58] a worse spot if slavery never existed at
[35:01] all across the entire globe and so on
[35:03] and so
[35:04] forth you know how some people make it
[35:06] big and kick the ladder out from under
[35:08] them well I like to extend as many
[35:10] ladders as possible in a segment that I
[35:13] call oops all ladders today's feature is
