[00:04] So that more than the preparation, it is the consistency which is a problem, right?
[00:09] So most of us, we make a crisp timetable on the very first day.
[00:12] Uh, sometimes the next day, and sometimes just after few days, we end up uh being inconsistent.
[00:17] We fail to follow their timetable, right?
[00:23] This happens again and again, and after two to three cycles, we are left with just a shattered will, right?
[00:30] This is a problem most of the students faces, but as a teacher, I do have a solution for you as well, which is that whenever we are preparing for any exam, this consistency it becomes a cakewalk when we firmly believe in the why of our journey.
[00:45] When every cell of our body it knows why in the first place we would like to join the Nabad, right?
[00:53] So Adut, for its commitment towards student welfare, have brought this very special session where our esteemed guest, he will enrich all of us with not just about the why, uh.
[01:06] Telling not just about the organization but this entire discourse, this entire discussion, it will also strengthen your why.
[01:14] Why do you want to prepare for NABARD grade examination?
[01:16] Why you should join the NABARD as an organization, all right.
[01:22] So on this note, I welcome our very esteemed guest, Mr. V. Sundaran, who have a distinguished accomplishment of retiring as a deputy general manager from NABARD.
[01:33] Uh, I welcome you, sir, and it is our good fortune to have you on our channel.
[01:38] Sir, your uh uh sir, your video is muted.
[01:43] Your audio is muted, so kindly unmute yourself.
[01:57] Am I audible?
[01:58] Yes, sir, now you are audible.
[02:00] Uh, I welcome you, sir, and it is our good fortune to have you on our channel.
[02:05] Equally very, very happy here.
[02:08] Madam, to see the young people who are willing to join NABARD, who are eager to join NABARD, first of all, I wish them all the very best.
[02:17] And I welcome them with open arms to the NABARD family.
[02:19] Yes sir, and we have a NABARD parivar, we call them.
[02:22] We welcome you all to NABARD parivar.
[02:24] We hope each and every one of you gets through this examination and joins NABARD.
[02:28] Thank you, please, please, please join me.
[02:30] Yeah, so uh sir, you have around 40 years of experience in NABARD.
[02:37] Uh, so for our students, can you please share your journey, your experience in NABARD, and also tell us what does the work profile of a NABARD Grade A officer look like?
[02:46] Yeah, Madam, to start with, this is a very good question to start with.
[02:51] Uh, Madam, um NABARD is particularly a very equal opportunity providing organization.
[02:58] There is no two opinion about that.
[03:02] And any organization, you can always look forward for contributing to the organization; only in NABARD you get the...
[03:10] Satisfaction of contributing to the economy, to the country, and to the farmers as well, this type of satisfaction you cease to get in any of the organization excepting a development financial institution like NABARD.
[03:23] NABARD touches the rural folks in every walk of life.
[03:26] This we will discuss in detail about the course of our discussions.
[03:31] But regarding my journey in NABARD, I started in 1984 in NABARD and it's a 40 years of service in NABARD.
[03:38] For various reason I had taken my first promotion only very late.
[03:43] That is why I could retire as DGM.
[03:45] Otherwise I could have retired as a CGM also if I taken my promotion for personal reasons which I had not taken it earlier.
[03:50] Uh, coming on this promotion aspects, NABARD has got a very, very good career prospect in my opinion.
[04:00] In my of NABARD, wherein I started as a stenographer and then rose to become a senior officer in NABARD, I had headed various departments in NABARD which also we will talk during the course of our.
[04:10] Discussions, but suffice to say at this juncture, anybody who wish to join NABARD will not be making a wrong decision at all.
[04:19] That's what I wanted to make it to everyone of them.
[04:21] Be it a work-life balance, or be it the satisfaction of being working for the community, or be it serving for the nation, NABARD provides you a lot of opportunities.
[04:32] Not only that, you get monetarily paid very well in NABARD, as good as the premier most institution of the country at present, the Reserve Bank of India.
[04:42] No other institution in the banking and financial sector, the private sector organization, or in the public sector organization pays as much as, and it's a very good organization to work with.
[04:54] Very well, sir, that was very enriching.
[04:58] Sir, like whenever I was in college, one of my professors, he told that whenever you are looking for any job, any profession, any career prospects, there are three things you should look into that into a career prospect.
[05:13] The three things are reputation, money, and the satisfaction, right?
[05:18] So these degrees, uh, in which you want these three things, they can vary.
[05:23] But whenever a person goes for any job, these are the three things one should look and one really looks into.
[05:30] And in the course of your answer, you told, uh, like NABARD, it works at the ground level for the farmers for climate change and a lot of, uh, projects in that respect.
[05:40] And, uh, as far as the satisfaction aspect is also concerned, this is something which concerns a lot of our aspirants as to what satisfaction they will derive out of this NABARD Grade A job.
[05:51] So, sir, can you please tell us more about the kind of projects in which a NABARD Grade A officer works for?
[06:00] And how does it, as a ground-level organization, how does the projects and the works of a NABARD Grade A officer affects or improves the life of the people, uh, in the rural areas or the ground level?
[06:12] How does it, uh, improve our?
[06:14] Society, and how does a NABARD grade officer contribute towards the society?
[06:19] Good, Madam.
[06:19] See, basically I take this question in three perspectives.
[06:24] One is, you all want to know what is the, how the NABARD grade officer contributes to the community, number one.
[06:29] And number two, what is the job profile of a NABARD officer, in number two.
[06:33] And number three, what about the satisfaction he derives, number three.
[06:37] Am I right, Madam?
[06:37] Yes.
[06:37] Anything more you wanted to add in this question?
[06:40] No, sir.
[06:42] Okay, right now only this thing.
[06:45] Yeah, yeah, we have sufficient time to deal with one.
[06:48] Is that when we talk about the serving in NABARD, as a, when the person joins NABARD as a grade officer, uh, he is put into, according to his, uh, qualification and experience and his background, he is put into the project, various projects of NABARD.
[07:06] And NABARD has got not only the departments which deal with the farmers, we have around 30 departments, not all.
[07:15] Departments deal directly with the farmers that we should understand first.
[07:19] So we should not be having any expectation that everybody who joins NABARD will be working with the farmer.
[07:27] That's one, because we have very many departments.
[07:29] Like we have technical service department, we have a department of information and technology.
[07:34] We have department of staff division, we have department of HRM, Human Resources management.
[07:38] We have department of procurement, we have department of stationary.
[07:42] So there are so many departments in NABARD.
[07:44] So one cannot, at this moment, one cannot think that he will directly be putting into the job where he will be handling the projects.
[07:53] But in course of time, NABARD has got a very good policy of staff rotation.
[07:56] Every two years or three years, one joins in NABARD and he is put into various departments of NABARD.
[08:05] This is to have a 360-degree development of the person and a wholesome development of the candidate.
[08:12] So even if you join a department like inspection or a premises department, it's.
[08:18] Not that you are not contributing to the society, but indirectly you are contributing.
[08:22] But the contribution where we expect to be directly or in a departments, I'll tell these are the departments.
[08:31] We have a farm sector development department.
[08:32] We have non-farm sector development.
[08:35] We have rural infrastructure development department.
[08:39] And we have farmers organization department.
[08:40] And we have producer organization department.
[08:42] These are a few departments where one can directly contribute to the people, but it is not so because in a batch of recruitment we recruit around 150 people.
[08:56] It is not possible to directly put all these people in these departments.
[09:00] So in course of time, in the time of rotation, one definitely gets a chance to work in this department, provided you have the background and also the acumen and also the experience to work in these departments.
[09:14] Secondly, when we talk about where we directly deal with the farmers.
[09:19] Every Nardian gets a chance to become a district development manager.
[09:23] That is, he's getting a posted in the district directly and he's a one-man army in the district.
[09:33] And he is considered as an extended arm of NABARD.
[09:36] So he is only one person of NABARD in the entire district.
[09:38] He deals directly with the collector.
[09:40] He deals directly with the Reserve Bank of India person in the department.
[09:45] He deals directly with the District Central Cooperative Bank.
[09:48] He deals directly with the regional rural banks of the department.
[09:51] He helps them to implement the policies of Government of India.
[09:54] He directly implements the policies of NABARD.
[09:59] He guides the other banks to implement the policies of Government of India.
[10:06] Okay, so this one has to wait for some time if he's joining as a Grade A.
[10:12] At least when he becomes a Grade B, all these things he will be able to take it in the district because NABARD has got more than 380 districts.
[10:20] Development officers, so each district development officer gets vacated in a course of four years of time, so everybody will be getting a chance to work in the district, provided he likes to work in that.
[10:30] It's not a forced job for them.
[10:32] If you have an acumen, if you have the interest, you will be able to serve in the district also.
[10:36] Come on, anything else in this same?
[10:39] No sir, not in the same thing, but I have a different question.
[10:43] And that is that you talked about a lot of different departments and especially the post of District Development Manager, right sir?
[10:52] In this, I also want to know what is the promotion policy of NABARD.
[10:54] How does a person get promoted and what is the growth trajectory of a NABARD officer?
[11:04] Yes, NABARD, as per the industry practices, onboards the candidates at the age of between 22 to 28.
[11:15] Even we have an officer who...
[11:20] Has joined at the age of 21 also MH the first promotion is very, very crucial in NABARD.
[11:26] One gets a chance to get promoted as a Grade B; we call them as managers.
[11:35] Once you join as a Grade A, you are designated as assistant manager.
[11:40] Immediately after four years, you get to work as a manager.
[11:42] In this post as a manager, you get to work in the district.
[11:48] You start getting this opportunity to work in the district as a Grade B officer.
[11:53] And again, this promotion to Grade B or a manager depends on two criteria.
[12:00] One, you have to have a minimum service of four years.
[12:05] And two, you should have a record which is not derogatory, which is not having any black marks.
[12:11] Black mark in the sense, it's not that everybody needs to get a total A+ grade, but at least you should not be having any black mark in the form of.
[12:21] Vigilance cases or any moral turpitude, these are the two main things which will pull you down in the case of promotion.
[12:28] Otherwise, normally all the Gradia officers get promoted or get a chance to get promotion after four years of service.
[12:36] So, in sum and substance, you are getting a chance to get promoted in NAAD at the end of the fourth year of your career.
[12:45] MH, and what about the other promotions like to Grade C, Grade D?
[12:49] What does they look like and when does they happen?
[12:54] Every promotion, every officer becomes due to become the another grade in the years of, in the, at the completion of four years.
[13:01] Minimum criteria to be to serve in one grade is four years.
[13:04] Okay, at the end of the four years you get a chance to, here again I should not be misguiding the people that at the end of the every four year you will get a promotion.
[13:15] You get a chance to become a promotion, get a, get appearing for the interview provided there are enough.
[13:23] Vacancies, MH vacancies every year in every grade at least 100 vacancies come as a for a grade for a Grade B manager and grade C manager.
[13:34] At least 100 vacancies come and we get a people of around 250 to compete with that.
[13:36] So in the course of time, if not in the fourth year, you'll definitely get a chance to again fifth or sixth year you get it.
[13:44] But there are people who get a promotion every four year.
[13:47] Joining in 24 you become a Grade B, in 28 you become a grade C, in 32 you become a grade D, in 36 this is also possible.
[13:56] But do not get distorted or do not get misguided.
[14:00] Every four year you get a promotion in NABARD.
[14:05] Okay, you get a chance to get a you get a chance to compete, okay, depending upon the vacancies, all right.
[14:12] Uh, so one more question I would like to know as there are so many departments and NABARD is a all India organization, then what is the criteria for postings, uh, whenever a NABARD...
[14:24] Grade officer whenever they get a posting, like uh, is there any CER based uh uh allocation system where a person from North Zone will get only a North zone or uh can they be uh posted anywhere in the country?
[14:36] And also uh especially I would like to ask this question with respect to the female candidates right?
[14:42] So when a female candidate or when a female Nabard grade officer when she is given a posting uh especially if she is married, then are all these circumstances taken into consideration when they are posted?
[14:57] Yes mam, mam, Nabard as you know is a all-India organization.
[15:01] MH and this recruitment is also based on the all India services, so you get all India CER Services irrespective of from where you compete.
[15:12] As a rule, Nabard does not provide the first posting in the place of the writing the examination or from the or from the place of the domicile.
[15:23] You normally do not get a posting normally unless and.
[15:26] Otherwise it's a very, very extreme situation.
[15:28] Like you said, somebody is carrying, somebody is just married, or somebody is having physically handicapped.
[15:34] Beyond a point, all those things are taken into consideration.
[15:36] But as a group, when we are talking about the entering NABARD, let's be very clear that your first posting is not normally in your zone, in your place of writing, the state capital.
[15:48] As you know that NABARD is having the offices in the state capitals only.
[15:52] So supposing if you are a candidate from Maharashtra, you will not be getting a posting in Pune or in Bombay.
[15:59] Or if you are a candidate from Rajasthan, you will not be getting a posting, your first posting, in Jaipur.
[16:03] First posting is always away from your posting.
[16:08] And if you are a female and if you are a married person, NABARD always takes into consideration during the next period of transfer.
[16:15] Or you become, you normally become eligible to get a transfer after four years or three years.
[16:19] Three years you get, or in any extreme circumstances, NABARD do consider, but please have this in your.
[16:27] Mind very clearly, will your first posting not be in your home state?
[16:31] And subsequently, you get a very good chance, especially female, to come back to your own state or to come back to your own District also.
[16:37] Okay, if you are from a district also, you get a chance to work in after first promotion.
[16:43] You get a chance to work in your District also; that is only after a period of four or five years.
[16:46] M, all right sir.
[16:50] Uh, okay, so sir, in the uh starting, I told you about my professor, and he said that you have to look for the reputation, for satisfaction, and the monetary factors.
[16:59] So reputation is something we don't even have to talk; everybody knows that NABARD is a very reputed organization.
[17:04] We talked about the satisfaction also.
[17:06] Now comes a very important factor, the monetary aspect, right?
[17:11] So everybody have this in their mind.
[17:13] So uh, can you please put some light on what does the uh overall package uh of a NABARD grade officer who has just joined the organization look like?
[17:24] Yeah, Madam, we all work for, see, though we say we want to work for the.
[17:29] Country we want to have for the par everything but the first and foremost thing in everybody's, as you rightly said, is about the monetary compensation.
[17:37] Rightly so, uh, in NABARD as a grade officer when you enter, you, we can, for this purpose of simplification, have this in three parts about the monetary aspect in three parts.
[17:53] Normally in private companies they call it as a CTC, okay, cost to the company.
[17:57] In NABARD there is no concept of CTC, okay.
[18:01] We have three components: one is your salaries, and second is your BGS, and third is your alternate PS which you get every two years or three years, and fourth is about your what do you call as a CTC, okay.
[18:18] So we'll see each one, we will discuss a little more in detail now.
[18:24] As a person wants to join in NABARD, his uh salary per se will be 70,000, 70 to.
[18:33] 75,000 will be the salary depending upon the Dess elevance on hand.
[18:38] He will be getting 75,000 in his as a salary and allowances.
[18:40] Salary means salary plus dearness allowances plus your house rent allowances or city compens allowances and also various other allowances you get as a in the in the the form of a salary which is taxable.
[18:55] So that is around 70,000 75,000 per person.
[18:58] Apart from this you get various perks perquisites.
[19:02] For example you get around 70 L of petrol Elance okay if you are in if you are a grade officer and joining in a metropolitan City you get 70 L of petrol Elance.
[19:16] And other than that you get a servant Elance.
[19:18] Every person gets around 5,000 rupees for the servant Elance.
[19:24] And all these like that we have for the you have for your uh maintenance allowances you have for your furniture allance.
[19:31] All these allowances you have all these allowances put together at around 30 to 35,000 so.
[19:37] In cash, in cash, in hard cash, you get 1 lakh 5,000 when you join the organization as a grade officer.
[19:46] It can vary from 95,000 to 1 lakh 5,000 depending upon the dearness allowance and also about the place of posting.
[19:54] For example, if a person gets posted in metropolitan cities, we have six metropolitan cities: Delhi, Bombay, Kolkata, Madras.
[20:02] Apart from that, we have three more added to that: Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Pune.
[20:06] So these are also in a way considered as metropolitan cities.
[20:09] So you will be getting anywhere between 95 to 1 lakh 5,000.
[20:14] So this is the salary component.
[20:16] Apart from this, what I told you, this salary and perquisites we have covered.
[20:21] And apart from this, what we have is every one or two years you get some allowances.
[20:26] Every year you get these allowances.
[20:29] I tell you, you get allowances for furnishing your residences.
[20:33] You get around 150,000 every once you get a confirmation.
[20:38] you get a Furnishing allowance for
[20:40] residing and every every two years you
[20:43] get a leave travel allowances which is
[20:45] around one lakh to 1 L 125,000 you get a
[20:48] Rel allowance every two years you get
[20:50] and every year you get an allowance to
[20:53] encash your ordinary leave as I we'll be
[20:56] coming back to that what is ordinary
[20:58] leave how you you can endash it we can
[20:59] come back later than that every year you
[21:02] get these allowances and after every
[21:04] every every annual year you every two
[21:07] years you get an allowances for your
[21:09] telephone reimbursement every year you
[21:11] get you get allowance for your telephone
[21:12] reimbursement after you reach a certain
[21:14] grade you get allowances for getting
[21:17] your mobile handset you get an allowance
[21:18] for your laptop all these things when
[21:20] you grow grow the letter but when you
[21:22] join as a gr officer your salary and P
[21:25] is 1ak 5,000 and apart from that you get
[21:27] an allowances for your servant you get
[21:29] the petrol allance you get a convenance
[21:31] allance and you get a newspaper
[21:32] allowance you get some seven eight
[21:34] allowances every every month so 1 lakh
[21:38] 5,000 plus these annual allowances and
[21:42] apart from this you have a gratuity and
[21:45] you have a Provident fund nabot has got
[21:48] a different Provident fund wherein the
[21:50] amount nabot contributes
[21:53] 10% when the employee contributes 10%
[21:56] nard also contributes 10% to his
[21:58] Provident fund account which is earning
[22:00] a higher rate of interest than the other
[22:02] organizations in naad The Provident fund
[22:05] earns an interest of 9.55% which is
[22:08] calculated for the your National pension
[22:11] scheme new pension scheme is there for
[22:13] that it is added and is also considering
[22:16] adding 14% of the basic pay towards the
[22:19] NPS for the people who are joining NAD
[22:21] now they are not entitled for the
[22:24] pension but they are all entitled for
[22:26] the new pension scheme of or the
[22:28] national pension SCH that is directly
[22:30] for that NAD contributes 14% of your
[22:33] basic pay and these are all not not
[22:36] considered as the cost of company these
[22:37] are all apart from your salary so what I
[22:40] told you is 1 lak 5,000 apart from that
[22:42] nabat gives you this 15% every uh city
[22:46] or a or a state capital NAD has got its
[22:49] own residential accommodation the moment
[22:51] you join Abad you get a chance to get
[22:55] your staff quarters which is a very very
[22:57] decent accommodation which is normally a
[22:59] two two-bedroom all kitchen or
[23:00] three-bedroom all kitchen depending upon
[23:02] your place of posting and for that naar
[23:04] does not charge you anything excepting a
[23:07] small fee of 1,500 rupees as a least
[23:09] inance so that comes you in in a city
[23:12] like Bombay where we have a quarters the
[23:15] cost of the accommodation is around 80
[23:17] 85,000 for that nabad charges you only
[23:20] 1,500 as your lease rentals if you for
[23:23] any reason if you are not getting
[23:25] your uh official staff quarters you are
[23:29] paid a lease rent uh for getting your
[23:32] own accommodation which is again
[23:34] substantial amount running up to 30,000
[23:36] rupees depending upon the place of
[23:38] posting you can choose your own
[23:39] accommodation or if you have your own
[23:42] accommodation nard also pays you that
[23:45] amount for you to for as a compensation
[23:48] for this post
[23:51] Elance so what I try to say is you can
[23:55] you can as a some rule you can say it
[23:59] will be around 1ak 5,000 in cash and
[24:01] other allowances on 20,000 rupees if you
[24:03] annualize it every 25,000 so 130,000 you
[24:06] can say as the annual monthly allowances
[24:09] for that's and apart from that you get a
[24:12] free medical uh medical for you for your
[24:17] dependents lifetime it is it is
[24:19] absolutely free every amount is every
[24:21] thing is repaid including your uh visit
[24:24] your Consulting doctor or operation or
[24:27] hospitalization every thing of your
[24:29] medical is taken care byat it's a very
[24:31] very fantastic scheme you don't have to
[24:33] pay a single Pisa or you don't have to
[24:36] even pay any advance you just enter
[24:38] cashless NAD will pay the bill okay that
[24:42] is again as per your eligibility and it
[24:44] is quite substantial quite
[24:47] satisfying yes uh am I or am I clear
[24:50] anything else students would like to ask
[24:52] about Sir this was very detailed and
[24:55] like uh as much details you could
[24:57] provide you have given and thank you so
[24:59] much for telling it to us in this much
[25:01] detail because this much information it
[25:04] is very difficult for us as teachers and
[25:06] for students together so thank you so
[25:08] much for telling us the entire uh
[25:10] breakdown of the salary structure in so
[25:12] much detail um sir now uh like we have
[25:15] talked for so long about the
[25:17] professional side of the nabad as an
[25:19] organization so now I would like to have
[25:21] a personal angle as well what does the
[25:24] work life balance of a nabad grade
[25:26] officer look like is it a very hectic uh
[25:28] routine Bank job or uh does the nabad
[25:31] grade officers they have a very
[25:33] fantastic work like uh work life
[25:35] experience and also if you have to rate
[25:38] on a scale of uh say 1 to 10 how will
[25:41] you rate the work life experience work
[25:44] life balance of an AB grade
[25:47] officer I would like to with your
[25:50] permission I would like to divide this
[25:51] question in two parts okay okay one for
[25:54] the benefit of the candidates and two
[25:57] for for the purpose of attending
[25:59] interview okay supposing I I assume that
[26:03] all these candidates who are aspiring
[26:05] are attending the
[26:06] interview and if by any chance they say
[26:12] and I I'm sure many of these candidates
[26:14] have already having some work experience
[26:16] and then they would like to shift to
[26:18] nabat maybe for a better work life
[26:21] balance my request to you my advice to
[26:24] you and my guidance to you is please
[26:27] please do not say that you expect to
[26:29] join abot for a easier work life balance
[26:33] please and that is not taken lightly at
[26:35] all this is from the point of view
[26:38] interview perspective for you as a
[26:40] guidance please do not say that you
[26:41] would like to join abot for a better
[26:43] work work like experience and if you are
[26:46] saying that you can book your return
[26:49] ticket and coming off the Record n has
[26:53] got a very fantastic work
[26:55] like really good I'm not saying because
[26:58] I I belong to the naad parar really say
[27:00] this because there are so many na as I
[27:03] told you earlier the naad is equal
[27:04] opportunity provider we have almost 50%
[27:07] of the female employees and 50% gents
[27:10] employees takes care of them very well
[27:13] and the mostly in most of the organiz of
[27:15] the Regional Offices or head offices it
[27:17] is a 9 to 9:30 to 5:00 job most of the
[27:22] however there are certain periods in
[27:25] nbad like our annual closing period MH
[27:28] like our Parliament when the session of
[27:30] the parliament is on or when the Senior
[27:34] Management visits the Regional Offices
[27:36] for the purpose of this session I assume
[27:39] that all of you are getting posted in
[27:41] the Regional Offices not in the head
[27:42] office for the purpose of we are getting
[27:43] it so in the regional office these are
[27:45] the three things when the parliament
[27:46] session is on normally we are at at our
[27:50] on our toes because we do not know what
[27:53] the members of parliament would be
[27:54] asking so whenever there is a starred
[27:57] question or unstarred question
[27:58] we are required to give the reply
[28:01] immediately and not all of them only it
[28:03] pertains to certain departments say
[28:06] could be about the producer organization
[28:09] or it could be about the productivity of
[28:11] a particular crop in this one region and
[28:13] not and these are all very far and few
[28:15] maybe in a year it will be or 10 or 15
[28:19] days like that okay okay apart from that
[28:21] you regular work is normally between 9
[28:25] to 9 to 5 in organm 9:30 to 5:30 in some
[28:27] Reg officers it is normally that but
[28:30] being a new officers a new entr to the
[28:32] things we expect and you to put some
[28:36] more effort for the benefit of the
[28:39] organization and also for your own
[28:41] career prospects I always tell
[28:44] people uh whenever I take sessions on
[28:47] these things I there are so many horses
[28:50] running a race okay in the horse race we
[28:53] see so many so many horses working and
[28:56] only one horse wins not the every horse
[28:58] gets selected comes first what is that
[29:02] that horse puts in if you ask me that is
[29:05] the extra effort that extra effort
[29:08] always stands noticed the extra efforts
[29:11] always pays you so if you are joining as
[29:14] a grade A this is the time most of us
[29:16] when we are joining an about as a grade
[29:18] A we are a little free we have we are
[29:22] not having much of the family commitment
[29:23] I'm not saying everybody is the same
[29:25] thing but most of us do not have much of
[29:27] the family commitment so it's a time
[29:29] where we can build our career we can get
[29:31] to know of the NAD and also we can have
[29:35] the eyes of the top Management on us so
[29:38] you get noticed if you put in some more
[29:41] extra efforts it's not mandatory just
[29:43] I'm certainly saying it is not a
[29:44] mandatory thing that you should put in
[29:45] ex first but as the demand comes as the
[29:47] requirement comes do not sh away from
[29:49] that as a normally as I see in the 4
[29:53] years very few departments and in even
[29:55] the regional officers supposing if the
[29:57] regional offic has got some 300 staff in
[29:59] a regional office maybe 10% of the staff
[30:03] are required to stay Beyond 5:30 that is
[30:07] also up to 1 hour 6:30 or so if you see
[30:10] in commercial Banks or in other
[30:12] organizations people have to sit
[30:15] mandatorily up to the final closing of
[30:18] their accounts commercial Banks they
[30:19] have to sit entirely for till such time
[30:22] they close their accounts for the day
[30:24] they are not allowed to go but in NAD it
[30:26] is not so accepting when there is an
[30:28] emergency situation like I told you
[30:29] about the Parliamentary committee or the
[30:31] top management visit to you your office
[30:33] or some other things you are free to
[30:35] between 9:30 to 10:30 between 9:30 to
[30:37] 5:30 normally maybe maybe in few cases
[30:41] depending on the place of your posting
[30:43] if you have a plum posting what like
[30:46] Madam was asking about how you can have
[30:48] the satisfaction supposing if you get
[30:49] posted in such a department like your F
[30:52] sector department or your production
[30:54] department or your infrastructure
[30:55] department where the work is continuous
[30:58] there you may you may be required to on
[31:00] your own sweet will 1 hour or so
[31:03] otherwise normally people go normally
[31:05] people go within 6:00 back 90% of the
[31:09] people go back home within half an hour
[31:12] of the close off business in cities like
[31:15] Bombay where we have the uh people come
[31:18] from far are far fling areas that people
[31:21] go by the contract bus at the stroke of
[31:22] the 5:00 we go so it is depending on the
[31:27] your place of posting but normally say a
[31:29] fantastic work life balance in naad
[31:31] where you do not have to come on a
[31:35] Saturday or a Sunday excepting I told
[31:37] you excepting exceptional circumstances
[31:39] normally you are not required to come on
[31:41] Saturday and Sunday or you are not you
[31:43] are not required to sit Beyond an hour
[31:46] that also maybe in a week of five days
[31:49] maybe two or three days you may be
[31:51] required to sit Beyond office house for
[31:52] an hour or so that's completely okay and
[31:56] it is not at all taxing and provides for
[31:58] the female employees if a female
[32:00] employees stays in the office say up to
[32:02] 8:00 or so for some reason abot takes
[32:05] care of them AB provides the shauer
[32:07] driven car services to drop them at
[32:10] their home that's a policy of nabad
[32:12] anybody who's any female employee who
[32:14] stays Beyond a certain time they are
[32:17] escorted and then dropped at their place
[32:20] by the nab's own Arrangement that is
[32:22] also a big so not to worry about the
[32:25] work life balance in Nar it's a very
[32:27] very welcome
[32:28] work it's very good atmosphere to work
[32:30] in NAD and you definitely will have a
[32:32] good work life balance going forward all
[32:35] right uh sir in this answer when you
[32:38] were telling you mentioned a point that
[32:40] every nabad grade officer or any new
[32:43] joiny they should put the best of their
[32:46] efforts to upskill themselves and to
[32:49] upgrade themselves right it is very
[32:50] important because if you want to
[32:51] outshine in any career and not just be
[32:54] any ordinary colleague then you have to
[32:56] upskill yourself and uh so in that light
[32:59] in this in this direction if we talk
[33:01] about are there any uh uh are there any
[33:04] allowances or any uh scholarships or any
[33:07] opportunities provided by the nabad
[33:09] grade uh nabard as an organization for
[33:11] the officers to pursue higher education
[33:14] or for them to pursue certain
[33:16] certifications because I have went
[33:18] through your CV and that also mentions a
[33:21] lot of um certifications which you have
[33:23] also done so uh were they provided as an
[33:27] opportunity by the nabad or does nabad
[33:29] have this policy wherein the uh wherein
[33:32] the officers they can go for higher
[33:35] education mam naad always supports the
[33:38] candidates once they come to naad pool
[33:40] we call them as nabad parar it's a
[33:42] continuous process anybody once their
[33:45] confirmation is done normally
[33:46] confirmation is done after one year of
[33:48] the officer joining once they once they
[33:50] confirmed in the services they are free
[33:52] to pursue their uh further upskilling
[33:56] there for that reimburse the entire
[33:59] course fee they
[34:00] completed and again one is that about
[34:03] the normal courses which is not which is
[34:06] a part of your while you are while you
[34:08] are in service if you pursue this
[34:10] course uh feces reimburse to you apart
[34:14] from that once you complete five years
[34:16] in nabad if you still want to upskale
[34:18] nabad gives you a sabatical or a study
[34:20] leave which is fully paid uh for two
[34:24] years we give a leave for you to pursue
[34:27] your
[34:28] courses supposing if you join any course
[34:31] like your PhD or your postgraduate thing
[34:34] in recognized University on a not as a
[34:36] distance education but as a in inside
[34:40] candidate naot gives you two years leave
[34:43] for you to pursue your course along with
[34:45] fully paid leave for the entire first
[34:47] year you are fully paid leave including
[34:48] your allowances you are paid and from
[34:51] the second year 34 of your salary will
[34:53] be paid so two years time is given as a
[34:55] study leave for the candidates who has
[34:58] got a bu buil to study buil upscale
[35:01] thems in a recognized universities apart
[35:04] from that any course normally if you
[35:06] want to pursue any like you ask me about
[35:07] the certification courses and all
[35:09] whichever you per pursued with the
[35:11] permission of n you have to first inform
[35:13] the naad organization that they want to
[35:15] pursue this course naad pays you the
[35:18] entire course fee upon your completion
[35:20] in certain courses like where the study
[35:23] leave is there amount up to one lakh is
[35:26] given as advances to pay your fees also
[35:28] AB gives you the advance to pay your
[35:30] curriculum fees also depending upon the
[35:33] course fees AB also pays the fees two
[35:36] allowances but there is one caveat in
[35:38] this is that once you offer a study
[35:40] leave and two years you have to give uh
[35:44] bond to NAD that you will be serving the
[35:45] organization for next five years but
[35:47] normally bond is not ined for other
[35:49] officers the supposing you take nabad
[35:52] leave because you are you are being paid
[35:55] by nabad for your studies for full full
[35:58] one year or the next two years also or
[36:00] even in case of a PhD where it is
[36:02] continuous even up to four years also at
[36:04] n Discretions you are given leave so the
[36:06] commitment is that once you take the
[36:09] naats leave and pursue your course you
[36:12] have to give a bond for five years
[36:14] otherwise for pursuing your general
[36:15] carriers we can always pursue your
[36:17] carrier and then can take the
[36:19] reimbursement even if you leave in
[36:21] between after two years after you Pur
[36:22] pursue one course say for example if
[36:25] anybody wants to join abat and they want
[36:27] to pursue a course in cyber security M
[36:29] so they can as an as a while working in
[36:32] NAD itself so they can pursue if
[36:34] somebody wants to pursue a course in
[36:36] agricultural engineering as a Insight
[36:38] candidate they are in naad but they want
[36:40] to pursue the course without any taking
[36:42] study leave as an assignment they can
[36:44] their course fee is fully reimbursed
[36:46] there is there is no limitation as to
[36:48] how many courses you can pursue as much
[36:52] many coures you want to pursue you can
[36:53] pursue with scholarship and when you
[36:56] talk about this scholar ship nabard also
[36:59] provides a scholarship to the uh WS of
[37:03] the supposing but you are all too young
[37:05] to get that but once your kids join
[37:09] higher education for them also nabat
[37:11] provides a scholarship but you as a
[37:13] grade A that may not be of relevant
[37:14] that's why I did not say for you the
[37:17] scholarship is the reimbursement of fees
[37:20] the course fee and if you are taking
[37:22] higher courses you are getting the full
[37:24] uh leave also but that is subject to the
[37:27] availability of because we take around
[37:29] six to 6% of the employees we give the
[37:32] study leave every year but it's again
[37:34] the discretion of the management and the
[37:35] course which we are pursuing how
[37:37] relevant the course is to nabar that is
[37:39] leave is given to you one is study leave
[37:42] other is full reimbursement of the
[37:43] course okay all right sir now uh I think
[37:47] I have asked you enough questions about
[37:48] the organization now from the students
[37:50] perspective I would like to ask like
[37:52] whenever a students uh he or she clears
[37:55] the phase two exam and sits for the uh
[37:58] nabad interview what are the top
[38:01] qualities which a which nabad interview
[38:04] panel seeks in a
[38:06] candidate yes Madam one is that about
[38:09] the if you have relevant experience that
[38:13] is taken as an additional
[38:14] qualification and if you have the
[38:17] postgraduation that is taken as an
[38:19] additional qualification and the rank
[38:22] which you have taken in your written
[38:24] examination that's taken into
[38:25] consideration these are the
[38:26] consideration
[38:28] and at the back end when the interview
[38:30] panel meets interview panel may not be
[38:32] having all these things with them but
[38:33] the interview panel looks only one thing
[38:36] M it's the right attitude of the person
[38:39] how how articulate you are what is your
[38:41] attitude towards the questions asked and
[38:44] also about your uh commitment to the
[38:47] organization how you display your
[38:48] commitment to the organization supposing
[38:50] if somebody says I'm just joining as a
[38:52] stop I'm preparing for the IAS
[38:54] examination we all do all GR supposing
[38:57] they say that I come to nabad as a stop
[39:00] gu I'm also pursuing IAS as an
[39:02] organization nabad is well aware that
[39:04] everybody who joins naad or at this age
[39:07] would like to perceive for a Greener
[39:09] pasture they may be aspiring for IAS
[39:11] they may be appearing for upsc
[39:12] examination they may be appearing for
[39:15] States state examination and also they
[39:17] may be appearing for RBA so these things
[39:19] are NAD is very well aware of these
[39:21] things but even if they ask for a
[39:22] commitment as a because the interview
[39:24] panel is required to ask you that how
[39:26] long we
[39:28] you can always say that what the answer
[39:30] expected of you is not one or two years
[39:33] can always the expected answer from you
[39:35] is sir I would like to join naad for a
[39:40] long-term
[39:41] perspective not not as a stop arment I
[39:44] would like to pursue nabad as a in a
[39:46] career in naad is for the long-term gos
[39:48] it's my always my wish my desire to join
[39:52] an organization like naad and to serve
[39:54] for the long lifetime we all have joined
[39:56] in na when we are asked questions same
[39:58] thing one person from the village he was
[40:00] as the reason to join n is that it's I'm
[40:04] out of the village but Village is not
[40:06] out of me so I would like to join as a
[40:10] person as a former person or a person
[40:12] who has got the grass level knowledge of
[40:15] the farming I would like to pursue in
[40:18] another thing what in expect is some
[40:20] knowledge some Basics about the rural
[40:23] economy that is the because we we are
[40:26] all City bre most of us are City breed
[40:28] people and we work in cities and nabad
[40:31] expects you to know something about the
[40:34] rural economy what is the crop grown in
[40:37] your area at least I'm just saying some
[40:39] few examples I'll tell you what are the
[40:41] things you are required to know what is
[40:43] a kif crop MH what is a rubby crop MH
[40:47] and what are the seasons in your in your
[40:49] state and what is the MSP these things
[40:52] you must be preparing for your uh
[40:55] examination also so these are the
[40:56] questions normally asked in the
[40:58] interview what is the minimum support
[41:00] price of a Patty of your if you are if
[41:02] you are from the Punjab or harana where
[41:05] p is what the minimum price what is the
[41:08] what in your opinion if you join AB what
[41:10] how you would like to contribute to the
[41:12] rural economy what are the ideas you
[41:14] have because the interview panel is
[41:16] consisting of very senior people they
[41:18] also would like to know from you as to
[41:22] how because they all young blood they
[41:24] also would like to update themselves and
[41:25] how if you give a if you give a
[41:27] different perspective of rural financing
[41:30] how how Abad can help or what is the
[41:33] expectation of the people in rural area
[41:36] from naad if you know that it's not that
[41:38] you have to cook up something if you
[41:39] know that it always helps in the
[41:41] interview in in in broader sense what I
[41:44] would like to say is you know about the
[41:48] uh situation of agriculture in your
[41:51] state you get to know about the main
[41:55] crops grown in your area you get to know
[41:58] about the challenges being faced in your
[42:01] area so if you have these things in
[42:05] your as a as a person who is well
[42:08] bestest in these things you score some
[42:10] brownie points in the
[42:13] interview basic knowledge about the
[42:16] rural economy basic knowledge about the
[42:18] crops basic knowledge about the pricing
[42:21] basic knowledge about the marketing of
[42:23] crops so these things are things apart
[42:25] from this there are two two
[42:28] areas which nabad is now engaged in and
[42:32] government of India also wants nabad in
[42:34] these two areas and plus one area will
[42:36] come later these two areas is naad is
[42:39] actively engaging in the data management
[42:43] because various data comes in thick and
[42:46] flow in nabad so the data management is
[42:48] one area which nabad if you have
[42:50] something idea about the data management
[42:53] that's always good and second area is
[42:55] about the technology the technology is
[42:58] one area laad is trying to catch up with
[43:00] other organizations and if you have good
[43:03] technology how technology can improve
[43:06] that is another area which you can which
[43:09] you can always impress the interview
[43:11] panel about the data and technology and
[43:14] second area is about the climate change
[43:17] so you you should have you must be
[43:19] studying definitely must be studying
[43:20] about what is mitigation what is
[43:23] adaptation and in the same breath there
[43:25] could be some questions in the interview
[43:26] panel where you can always score high
[43:28] over other is about the what is the
[43:30] climate challenge climate challenge
[43:33] which your District or your state faces
[43:36] have you observed any recently any shift
[43:38] in climate change in your area so these
[43:40] things you will get in your own State
[43:43] websites what is the climate change so
[43:45] these three areas climate change data
[43:48] technology and also about I will always
[43:51] been telling about the micro finances
[43:53] one area which naad is these are the
[43:56] areas where naad would like you to tell
[43:58] them about the uh in the areas where you
[44:00] can impress the interview panel as a
[44:04] panel what they expect from you is about
[44:06] the updating yourself about the recent
[44:08] developments in your in your state
[44:11] agriculture all right sir uh on my part
[44:14] I have asked all the questions which I
[44:16] would like to ask from you uh now at
[44:20] this point I would like to take certain
[44:21] question from our students right the
[44:23] questions which they have asked and one
[44:25] student Aditya uh ADI miman uh sorry if
[44:29] I'm pronouncing the name wrong he has
[44:31] asked a question uh does nabad gives
[44:33] posting to officers in World Bank or
[44:36] Asian development bank or any other
[44:38] International
[44:41] Organization yes nabard has got one
[44:45] scheme of deputation so as an officer
[44:49] joining in nabard you are not posted to
[44:52] any of these things but if you get an
[44:55] opportunity to work by yourself grants
[44:57] you permission to work in those
[44:59] organization by by having a lean on the
[45:02] on the job of nabat or if you want to
[45:04] work in any agency like an NGO if you
[45:06] want to work or if you want to work in
[45:08] any Commercial Bank where you have taken
[45:10] it that is possible but NAD you are
[45:12] posting is not in any of this
[45:14] organization you you are not posted to
[45:16] any of this organization at least as a
[45:18] grade
[45:19] officer okay when you
[45:21] join but you have if you get any organ
[45:24] any any any posting in this organization
[45:26] now
[45:28] helps you to retain your job in naad and
[45:31] then work in the in the organization for
[45:34] one or two years as the depression is
[45:36] there but allows you to work okay uh so
[45:40] one more student he has asked us uh uh
[45:45] after how many years one gets into
[45:47] subsidiaries of nabad like napcon and uh
[45:51] napin the student is named as OS the
[45:54] full name has not been written here and
[45:55] it is his question
[45:58] laad as you know has got seven
[45:59] subsidiaries it is not that after
[46:01] putting of service only you get to
[46:03] posting there your initial posting also
[46:05] can be in the subsidiary
[46:14] okay and cab
[46:16] increments jab and cab these are two
[46:19] courses for the uh banking sector and uh
[46:22] the student is asking on the basis of
[46:24] these certifications do we get any
[46:26] increment in The
[46:28] Bard yeah there are certain uh courses
[46:32] for which increments are given for
[46:34] example you have the Indian Institute of
[46:36] Bankers okay if you join Indian in of
[46:40] bankers and they have two examination
[46:43] part A and Part B MH and if you clear
[46:45] this examination you are given upfront
[46:48] two
[46:49] increments uh to on your job and it is
[46:52] not a very tough examination many people
[46:54] complete this this C I it's called
[46:57] certified associate of Indian Institute
[46:59] of bankers and they have five or six
[47:02] subjects in part A and five subjects in
[47:04] Part B and all multiple choice questions
[47:07] so if you clear that examination you get
[47:09] two increments up front and if you
[47:12] pursue PhD or doctorate you get one more
[47:15] increment all
[47:17] right uh so one more question is there
[47:20] and they are asking from the interview
[47:22] perspective the uh student is Tanisha
[47:25] and she's asking is PG postgraduation is
[47:28] preferred over undergraduate aspirant
[47:30] like is there any such preference by the
[47:32] interview panel regarding the
[47:34] undergraduation or the
[47:37] postgraduation always higher
[47:39] qualification or additional
[47:40] qualification helps when two things
[47:43] being equal always better current
[47:46] candidates help it having said that the
[47:49] last batch also we have taken more than
[47:52] 40% of the candidates as the minimum at
[47:56] the minimum level
[47:57] like undergraduates not a PG graduates
[48:00] we have taken also it's so it's uh not
[48:04] there are two three things which adds to
[48:06] this one is that about your ranking in
[48:09] the written examination if you have a
[48:11] high ranking in the written examination
[48:12] no matter it is your PG or things it
[48:15] does not matter unless you perform very
[48:18] badly in the interview those things
[48:20] addition could be followed up and if you
[48:23] fair fairly well in the interview and
[48:26] you have a good uh ranking and you have
[48:28] a good academics if you have good
[48:30] academics does not
[48:32] matter whether you are undergraduate or
[48:35] postgraduate does not
[48:38] matter all right having said that Madam
[48:41] it's always always the additional
[48:42] qualifications always
[48:45] help okay so thank you sir for being so
[48:49] kind uh in answering all our questions
[48:51] and sharing your experience and insights
[48:53] about nabad as an organization thank you
[48:55] so much for being there with us us and
[48:57] students uh I would like to thank you
[49:00] also thank you for uh being there with
[49:02] us throughout the interview and I hope
[49:04] now uh you have a very strong answer for
[49:07] why you should prepare for this exam
[49:09] right the why part of your preparation
[49:11] must have been uh like very uh concreted
[49:14] by uh this discussion by this entire
[49:16] discourse why you should pursue this
[49:19] organization and now I hope uh and I
[49:22] pray that you should you'll be able to
[49:24] have a very good consistency in your
[49:26] prep preparation because you have a very
[49:28] strong reason to work hard for this
[49:30] organization on this note I would like
[49:32] to end our today's session thank you so
[49:35] much sir once
[49:36] again Madam thank you very much I'm very
[49:39] very happy and uh to be a part of this
[49:42] discussions I would like to take there
[49:44] are some some of the candidates who have
[49:47] asked some questions in the chat box if
[49:49] anyone needs any more clarifications you
[49:51] can still ex I'm not unless you have any
[49:53] problem if anybody wants to have any
[49:55] specific questions answer any specific
[49:57] doubts clear we can extend it also
[49:59] because the some questions are coming to
[50:01] me on the screen yeah sir I have also
[50:04] seen those questions and most of these
[50:06] questions they revolve around the
[50:08] preparation strategy the books that we
[50:10] will take care yes and we uh as an
[50:12] organization as adut app they provides a
[50:15] calendly call wherein the mentor talks
[50:17] happen and the mentor they they address
[50:19] all these questions so that is why I
[50:21] have not taken up all those questions so
[50:23] whatever was relevant for organization
[50:26] the it's very good and just only one one
[50:29] thing to sum up uh yes apart from
[50:32] wishing all the candidates all the best
[50:35] and uh welcome on board to nabad before
[50:37] that I just wanted to summarize two
[50:39] things you need not have any two opinion
[50:43] about joining nabad it's a very
[50:45] benevolent organization a very caring
[50:48] organization having a very excellent uh
[50:51] work to life balance and giving you the
[50:54] satisfaction of apart from being being a
[50:57] professional it also gives you a
[50:58] satisfaction of working having year to
[51:01] the ground working with the grassroot
[51:03] level people it also gives a
[51:04] satisfaction and once you become a
[51:06] district development manager you are the
[51:08] boss in the district you are the one man
[51:09] office in the district which you will be
[51:11] getting a chance after your four years
[51:13] and if you have an acument for that so
[51:16] be uh conscious of this fact and you are
[51:20] joining an organization which is ranked
[51:23] for its uh commitment to the employees
[51:26] as one of the top 10 organizations in
[51:28] the country which is which a very
[51:32] very what what what you can see is which
[51:34] is a very noteworthy factor for you you
[51:36] are joining a very prestigious
[51:38] organization and the work experience in
[51:40] naad is always counted when you go for
[51:43] any other organization it's always a
[51:45] plus point in your CV if you work for
[51:47] even for two or three years in nabad
[51:49] your CV gets the maximum additional
[51:52] Advantage with this note I wish all the
[51:54] students a very very happy and the
[51:57] promising carer in nabat thank you so
[52:00] much sir thank you thank you madam thank
[52:01] you so much yes
[52:06] sir can I sign off yes sir yes
[52:17] sir all right students uh so I think I
[52:20] hope uh this this was this would have
[52:21] been a very uh insightful and a very
[52:24] enriching experience for all all of you
[52:27] and now you must have got the answer for
[52:29] why you should prepare for an
[52:30] organization like nabad in future also

[52:36] required efforts to bring such useful
[52:38] sessions to you so thank you once again

[52:42] queries which I would not I was not able
[52:44] to take up in this section regarding the
[52:47] degree regarding the final year of the
[52:49] college and regarding the strategy and
[52:51] the subjects and all these things uh uh
[52:55] adut app as an organization ation we do
[52:57] provide a calendly call option whether
[53:00] you are a student of our organization
[53:02] whether you are not a student of adut
