# FlyRank Internship - July 2026 Cohort - Kickoff

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ez7DlKSvEFY

[00:25] Hello good people of Earth.
[00:29] Um welcome to Fly Rank.
[00:34] Uh this is our first time doing this type of internship, so please absolutely bear with us through this whole process.
[00:43] I know that uh for some of you uh English is not the first language.
[00:50] Uh so please keep up with this.
[00:52] Uh we will have these as recordings and we'll also try to see if we can uh create some uh localization uh as well.
[01:01] Um today we're going to go over the program uh of the internship.
[01:05] We're going to kick things off.
[01:07] Uh you're going to get to uh learn a little bit about me.
[01:10] Uh you're going to uh hear a bit more about uh the program and what to expect over the next uh couple of um days.
[01:30] All right.
[01:33] So, um, just a second here.
[01:36] All right.
[01:39] So quick agenda as I mentioned a little bit about me, uh, quick company overview.
[01:43] We're going to do a few different sessions on Fly Rank with the rest of the team.
[01:48] Um, uh, we're going to talk a little bit about why this program exists.
[01:52] How it's going to work and how we see this work.
[01:56] We're going to touch base a little bit on the six tracks.
[01:58] Uh, we'll talk a little bit about the mentors, especially the guest mentors that you saw, uh, in this last, uh, uh, post.
[02:06] Uh, and then we'll talk about logistics, onboarding, and then we'll get into, uh, the Q&A, uh, which we'll use through this, uh, YouTube live.
[02:15] I do want to mention this.
[02:17] The reason why we're using YouTube live, we tried to look at Google Meet, we tried to look at Zoom, um, and, uh, the, uh, those platforms have limits.
[02:28] So, this is the best that we can do, and hopefully as this progresses, we're going to figure out, uh.
[02:32] What this looks like in the long run.
[02:36] So, a little bit about me.
[02:38] So, I'm Allan.
[02:40] I'm the co-founder and CEO of Flywheel.
[02:43] Uh, I've been building um companies, software for the last 25 years.
[02:48] Um, I was lucky enough to sell five different companies.
[02:50] Uh, and I was also very um proud to say that I've hired over 500 folks throughout my uh career.
[02:58] Um, [clears throat] my professional journey started um uh in high school.
[03:05] You know, I started to build websites um uh you know, for you know, folks that wanted to create a website.
[03:11] This is again in the uh in the you know, uh the internet uh boom era.
[03:17] Um, so, you can probably realize how uh old I am.
[03:23] Um, I was um I've held a few different agencies.
[03:25] We still have an agency uh called Preline Power Commerce that continued to do some amazing work on the Shopify platform and Shopline.
[03:33] And so forth.
[03:36] Uh however, Flywheel is the uh you know, primary focus of my time and and most of the teams' uh time.
[03:46] I've worked with some of the most amazing brands in the world.
[03:50] Um, was lucky enough uh to work uh with folks like Billie Eilish on her fragrance line uh through Prella.
[03:57] We worked with Paris Hilton, LeBron James, uh Ayesha Curry, Steph Curry's wife.
[04:02] Uh we worked with some of the um you know, biggest uh corporations, uh Pepsi, Condé Nast, AB InBev, and so forth.
[04:12] Uh we spent uh the last 15 years really in this e-commerce D2C Shopify ecosystem where we've really worked with some of the most amazing brands.
[04:21] We still work with a lot of these brands uh what we call D2C uh and that's something that hopefully you'll get exposed throughout the program.
[04:30] Uh I was born in Bosnia and Herzegovina um you know, when uh the uh for some of
[04:35] You that might know um uh when the Bosnian War started in '92, uh my family decided to refuge.
[04:42] We actually took refuge uh in in in Germany first and spent a couple of years uh of my childhood there.
[04:50] Um and then I spent most of my uh years in the uh in the United States.
[04:56] Uh I went to school there.
[04:57] Uh I built again a bunch of these business.
[04:59] I was a refugee.
[05:01] So, I think this is also I think a testament to seeing so many folks from so many different places.
[05:06] By the way, we have a uh we have folks here from 130 different uh countries uh which is um something that really is humbling.
[05:15] Um I know what nothing looks like.
[05:18] I know what it means to be a refugee, to be you know, poor.
[05:24] And to be honest with you, uh hopefully this is something that you guys will get to learn, but it's the way I work and uh I work with with folks is doing things frankly together uh and enabling each other as best as we can do.
[05:34] Um I was lu- lucky enough uh to move
[05:37] Back to Bosnia, uh, in 5 years ago.
[05:39] It's been 5 years already.
[05:43] I can't, uh, believe that.
[05:46] Um, and when I moved back again, from Chicago, that's where I lived, um, we ended up setting up, uh, an office here, you know, for not just for Prela, but also for Hall Caps.
[05:57] Hall Caps was acquired, um, you know, by Shop Circle, and we grew the team here to, uh, 250, uh, folks.
[06:04] I think one of the big things for me was that, uh, we proved that you can actually absolutely build world-class software, um, outside of the US.
[06:15] And I think this goes not just, you know, for folks here in Bosnia, but certainly in India, in Pakistan, in Bangladesh, and in all of these amazing countries that you're from.
[06:26] And I think that, uh, with AI and technology becoming a common commodity, that I think this is really a huge opportunity for all of you folks to be able to compete and kind of bridge that gap, um, that traditionally, uh, went towards you.
[06:39] Know, traditional VC companies and so forth.
[06:42] Um, I saw this tweet last night by Europa.
[06:46] Um, you know, we had the update, and, uh, you know, I sent the first assignment, as you guys saw.
[06:55] And, uh, I think this is how I would describe myself.
[07:00] I, when I'm committed to something, and I'm certainly committed to this cause, to enabling you through this internship, and certainly the team, uh, will do most of the work, but I will do my part.
[07:10] I will try to engage with every single person.
[07:12] I will try to, uh, create as much opportunities, uh, for all of you here, uh, through this program, and hopefully, uh, beyond, as well.
[07:24] So, quick company overview.
[07:26] So, simply put, Fly Rank is the autopilot for organic growth.
[07:31] That's how we pitch this to all of our customers, to all of our partners.
[07:37] Um, the big part about Fly Rank is that we
[07:41] Live in this really exciting opportunity of services and software.
[07:46] Uh, this is a quote by Julian Beck, uh, which I think he mentioned earlier this year, which is the next $1 trillion company will be a software company masquerading as a services firm.
[07:58] And that's essentially what we're trying to do with Flywheel.
[08:02] Is, uh, when you look at the traditional SEO market as an example, where you have a lot of different, you know, tasks around link building, around on-site SEO, off-page SEO, and so forth.
[08:16] And a lot of that has been traditionally done, again, through, you know, agencies and so forth.
[08:22] So, our goal is, again, with AI and this agentic experience to basically create a fully functional agentic experience for our merchants.
[08:33] So, I think this is what we're doing.
[08:36] Again, we have a lot of things that we are still figuring out.
[08:41] We have a lot of things that, you know, we've tried that didn't.
[08:43] Work.
[08:45] We've done some really good amazing work as well.
[08:46] Um, so, that's something that, again, as you get to meet the rest of the team, you'll learn more about Flywheel, the product, the service, the vision, what we're trying to accomplish, and so forth.
[09:01] We're a small company.
[09:03] I think it's super important to understand this.
[09:05] And I think some of the things I've said is, you know, to respect certain parts, right?
[09:12] So, again, we are growing.
[09:13] I think that's good.
[09:13] We're bootstrapped.
[09:15] So, we have not taken any VC money.
[09:19] We did win that check, by the way.
[09:23] We participated in the pitch by Deal, and we were one of the finalists.
[09:27] So, we were able to win some of that money.
[09:31] But I think it's important to understand that.
[09:32] So, we're not VC funded.
[09:35] And I absolutely believe that a VC-backed company wouldn't do this.
[09:38] As a VC-backed company, you know, they usually look the shareholder is the
[09:44] Primary objective there, right?
[09:47] So, I think it's super super important for you guys to understand that.
[09:50] So, this is our time, our money, our resources that we put towards this program, the you know, the recording, the the guys behind the camera that you don't see, you know, Ad me, Pavel, Adel who's here with me, and of course all the other folks that are working on all of these different things.
[10:06] Think it's so so important to respect, you know, what you get out of this program and understand that we are a little the little guy.
[10:12] And I think with AI we can do so much more, and I think you will play an absolute big role in this.
[10:22] So, I'm not going to read through some of the comments.
[10:24] So, we'll just, you know, touch base on at the end, but I see some of these are pretty, you know, interesting.
[10:33] So, why does this program exist?
[10:35] Well, at the you know, the the first part is this.
[10:39] So, Furqan last night also on on the last post, you know, posted this.
[10:44] Obviously, for a lot of you they're just
[10:47] Creating an opportunity.
[10:49] And again, at the end of the day, in this world, there's so much, so many things happening.
[10:55] You know, I always tell people that you know, it sometimes feels that the burn is that the world is burning.
[11:01] It's always been burning, and I think these types of opportunities, these these types of interactions where we can actually give back, you know, pay forward as they say, and enable folks and give them an opportunity.
[11:13] Give them a nudge.
[11:15] Give, you know, somebody like Furqan an opportunity to meet me, to meet Yasmine Al Hajj, Ahmed Grozdanić, John Roman, all the guest mentors, Adel, you know, folks who are in this market that they can basically take this and do something else with it.
[11:31] And if you read the intern, the you know, why why we we did this LinkedIn post, um, you'll you'll realize, um, that the folks that had that experience, um, are forever grateful.
[11:47] And I think that type of relationship and that type of bond is
[11:49] Something that is 100% worth doing this.
[11:54] As you know, I think timing-wise, it's also super important to understand that the market is shifting.
[12:02] You know, AI is real.
[12:05] AI is absolutely an opportunity, but it's also a threat.
[12:11] Um, I think traditionally when you think about some of the roles that will not exist in the next, you know, couple years and so forth.
[12:18] And again, you know, some people, you know, thought three, four years ago that getting a good STEM-based job as a developer or designer, or you know, and so forth was, you know, the best part for the career progression.
[12:31] Unfortunately, that's changing now.
[12:33] Obviously, there's still opportunities and so forth, but I think it's super super important to understand that this market is shifting.
[12:40] My personal opinion on this, by the way, is that we will go through a, you know, maybe two, three, four-year correction, right?
[12:48] Where folks will continue to, you know, part
[12:51] Ways uh with with people uh and so forth.
[12:55] But, I think the big thing is that traditionally, uh, these roles that, you know, giving an intern or giving a junior person an opportunity to do some of the tedious work, some of the low low, um, you know, uh, as they would call it low work, um, that, you know, senior, um, developers or, you know, folks wouldn't want to do, that those are diminishing and AI is absolutely eating that up up first.
[13:18] So, this is why we created this program.
[13:20] We just saw an opportunity, um, and I want to share this with you how we got here.
[13:24] Um, so we wanted to hire a few interns here in Sarajevo.
[13:27] Uh so we put up a a LinkedIn job post and we we just saw um that I think 1,200 in 2 days 1,200 people applied just for the AI internship.
[13:41] And you know it was tough for us to say well well who do we pick?
[13:46] You know, picking one or two folks out of 1,200 and again when you look at this entire program we've had over 38,000
[13:52] Applications.
[13:55] Um, it just didn't make sense to us.
[13:57] So I think the greater good of this internship isn't to give one or two people a chance is to enable folks.
[14:04] And to enable folks, frankly, in places that wouldn't necessarily have those opportunities.
[14:12] Again, we have folks here from Latin America, from Africa, from Asia, from Central Asia, from MENA, Europe, from all over the place.
[14:20] 130 countries are represented in this, and I think that is an absolute worth greater good than hiring a couple of people here in Sarajevo.
[14:35] So let's jump into the program a little bit.
[14:40] Again, um, there's a lot of things that's again a lot of questions, and I think one of the things I want to make sure that everybody here does, please, please, please read all the announcements.
[14:51] I'll show you where those are.
[14:51] You should.
[14:53] I'm getting emails through the Google Group as well.
[14:56] There might be a few folks that maybe have different emails when they registered and so forth, but we're trying to be very communicative as well of that.
[15:05] I think one of the big questions was, will I pay a fee for this program?
[15:10] I know, and I wasn't aware of this honestly, that a few folks mentioned that there's a few other programs where people were paying a fee for a certificate at the end.
[15:19] We're not doing that.
[15:21] You know, we're not here to make money off you.
[15:23] We want your support.
[15:25] We want the bond that we want to build.
[15:29] But at no point in time will we have you pay any fee for any certificate, any documents, and so forth.
[15:38] And I think this is 100% free.
[15:42] So, please don't ask me this question again.
[15:45] A couple of you also mentioned that, hey, why are they asking around, you know, posting on LinkedIn and so forth?
[15:53] And I want to say this as well.
[15:55] Uh, everything you do here is optional, okay?
[15:58] Yes, I want your support.
[16:01] I want you to support us.
[16:02] And by the way, I asked you guys this for the first assignment to go out there and tag your, you know, guest mentor, and you have done a phenomenal job.
[16:12] And that type of engagement, honestly, uh, means a lot because we're able to attract more guest mentors, hopefully some sponsors, uh, that can, um, you know, support this program.
[16:23] But everything you do is optional.
[16:25] So, you don't have to do anything that you see in there.
[16:28] Uh, by the way, we have a lot of different folks from different places.
[16:29] We have folks that are mothers, people that are actually in school.
[16:35] Uh, we have, uh, folks that, uh, have two jobs, and they just want to get into this AI, you know, world.
[16:43] So, uh, I want to be respectful, uh, certainly towards that.
[16:46] Uh, and I think this is the way to do that.
[16:47] So, everything you do is, uh, 100% optional, and then it's, um, at your self-pace.
[16:55] I also want to reiterate some of these things.
[16:58] Uh, we're going to talk about the portal here in a bit.
[17:01] So, what you gain from this?
[17:05] First thing, you get to put a real credential on your LinkedIn and your CV.
[17:10] Fly-rank, you put Fly-rank on there, and I think this gives you an opportunity.
[17:14] By the way, um, we did some research around this.
[17:18] Uh, I think just in India alone there's 15 million graduates per year.
[17:22] I think the market is around 100 million a year of folks.
[17:25] So, the market where you're competing at is absolutely big and I think you being here today, I think, is already a step up and an advantage hopefully in the progression of your career.
[17:36] So, you get to put Flywire on your LinkedIn and your CV.
[17:44] Many of you will come to us, you know, trying to complete your university degree and part of that, you know, the degree completion you need to actually go through an internship.
[17:56] We will absolutely support all of those different things.
[18:00] So, you actually get access to an internship where you get credit so that you can complete your, um, um, you know, degree.
[18:09] The way we're doing this as well and I'll, I'll touch base with you'll have access to all these different documents and so forth.
[18:15] Um, you will also get access and again this access, by the way, is free for all.
[18:19] Again, there's still folks that don't do this.
[18:21] We will do this under our cloud partner network company 10x.ai.
[18:27] That's our parent company for Flywire and everything else.
[18:32] You will be able to go through these credentials on Entropiq on these cloud courses.
[18:36] Every time you complete one of those courses you actually get a small certificate at the end and you're able to, um, upload those on LinkedIn under your credentials and obviously use it on your CV as well.
[18:50] For the folks who do complete the program, again, it, it, it is absolutely self-paced.
[18:56] Once you complete it, you will get a certificate of completion and you'll also get a recommendation letter signed by me after the cohort ends.
[19:08] My biggest thing of what you get, the benefit you get, is that you get to contribute, that you get to contribute to a real organization and a real team.
[19:18] You get to help me make Flywire Inc. better.
[19:21] You help Adel improve the marketing, the GTM funnels, and all of these different things.
[19:28] You'll get to work with Hadis and Mirza on solving some of the complex problems that again one person won't be able to do, but when we create this whole community aspect, I think we're going to be able to do that.
[19:40] And I think that contribution is something that you will absolutely never forget in your life.
[19:46] And I think the last thing is, you know, I've said this in one of the posts, uh, people pay money to watch folks like Yasmine and John Roman and Ahmed.
[19:58] Talk.
[20:00] You know, they go to a conference to listen to, um, you know, people talk.
[20:05] We're giving this to you.
[20:07] We're exposing you to these folks and we hope to get more and more amazing guest mentors that we're going to bring through this program.
[20:13] So, you get absolutely access to real, again, not just Flywire Inc., but all of these other organizations, all these different people that will, again, spend time to enable you to hopefully continue your career progression.
[20:32] The program is self-paced.
[20:34] I think this is 100% super, super important to read.
[20:36] Again, we have a nice FAQ that you should be reading.
[20:41] Um, so, we're going to run the way our team will run these sessions.
[20:45] Uh, we're going to run it for, you know, July and August.
[20:47] Again, also here in Bosnia.
[20:49] Uh, it is summer time, so a lot of people will take some time off, so we give ourselves a little bit of buffer into that.
[20:56] So, that is mostly for the live events, um, and, um, you know, for some of the the...
[21:00] things around the program and so forth.
[21:02] Again, you run at your pace. I think
[21:05] that is 100% important to understand.
[21:07] So, for most folks, that could be 6
[21:10] weeks, for some people will be 12 weeks,
[21:12] for others, because again, you'll have a
[21:14] lot of resources, you'll be able to
[21:16] watch things, you'll be able to look at
[21:18] recordings, look at different
[21:19] assignments, and so forth, you can go
[21:21] beyond that. Again, but that is 100% up
[21:25] to you.
[21:28] So, I want to just remind everybody,
[21:30] so this is self-paced. Self-paced means
[21:33] you run at your own pace. Even this live
[21:36] event will be recorded, which means you
[21:38] can watch it at night, you can watch it
[21:40] in the morning, you can watch it on your
[21:41] way to to school, you know, that is all
[21:44] up to you, right? So, we will still have
[21:46] these live sessions, that's mostly for
[21:49] us to make sure we can coordinate things
[21:51] with our team, with our guest mentors,
[21:53] and so forth. Please do join those if if
[21:55] you, you know, if you're in front of a
[21:56] computer, if you can, and listen in. I
[21:59] think also give us the support. I think
[22:01] that would be
[22:02] amazing. Everything lives in the
[22:04] internship portal. I'm going to to
[22:06] switch to that here in a little bit
[22:09] after this slide. And I'll show you what
[22:11] what you can expect on Monday, okay?
[22:14] Um
[22:15] also, it's super, super important to
[22:17] understand, we have folks
[22:19] um from every different level. We have
[22:22] beginners, we have folks that already
[22:23] have experience, and they just want to,
[22:25] you know, go through this internship and
[22:27] so forth. And some of them, honestly,
[22:28] they have two, three years of
[22:30] experience, but just can't find an
[22:31] opportunity to get into it. So, they
[22:33] have signed up for the So, when you look
[22:36] at some of the again, when you think
[22:37] about the curriculum that we're creating
[22:41] um
[22:42] you know, we have to, obviously, we're
[22:44] learning along the way, but we have to
[22:46] also make sure that this is something
[22:47] that,
[22:48] you know, it it has something for
[22:50] everybody. You know, we do want to
[22:52] challenge, and this is honestly why we
[22:54] we thought that the guest mentors,
[22:56] people like Hadis, who's a ML engineer
[22:58] working on some really crazy projects,
[23:00] Kemal
[23:01] as an example as well, and we're going
[23:03] to hopefully bolster some of these
[23:04] tracks to to allow these other folks to
[23:07] give a very unique perspective of that
[23:10] as well. Um again, every live session is
[23:13] recorded. So time zones are never a
[23:16] barrier. We will work. I saw that a
[23:18] bunch of you had some issues with the
[23:20] calendar
[23:21] um
[23:22] aspect. Again, that's not on our end.
[23:24] We'll we'll still support it, but
[23:26] sometimes you have to be signed in with
[23:27] the one that we were given. You can
[23:29] actually also
[23:31] um you know set it up through a
[23:33] different way and we're working on kind
[23:34] of working through that. So Um
[23:37] everything will be in English. I know
[23:39] for many of you English is not the first
[23:41] language, but I think it's important. I
[23:43] think as the market shifts towards this
[23:46] global opportunity, I think this is an
[23:49] amazing opportunity. So if English is
[23:51] something that you're not comfortable
[23:53] with
[23:54] um or you're struggling with,
[23:57] I think um
[23:58] um you know, use this as a challenge.
[24:01] Use it as a challenge to go out there
[24:04] and learn and and and engage. We're not
[24:06] going to judge you. I'm not going to
[24:07] judge you.
[24:08] Um you know,
[24:09] um
[24:10] my Bosnian when I moved back wasn't very
[24:13] good, but practicing with all the folks
[24:15] here in the office is it's gotten much
[24:17] better. It's still bad, but
[24:19] um
[24:20] So part of the portal which you can also
[24:22] I'll shift to quickly is you'll get all
[24:24] these different things. So again, we'll
[24:25] have live events
[24:27] which will be most likely in this
[24:29] um
[24:30] uh format.
[24:32] We're going to have
[24:34] uh in some cases weekly Q&As. In some
[24:36] cases we'll do some presentation like
[24:38] today. In some cases we'll record some
[24:41] of the sessions. We have again we have
[24:43] some
[24:44] I'm I'm not
[24:45] you know, I was never you know, thought
[24:47] that I'm going to be here talking to
[24:49] folks on a camera on a live stream and
[24:50] so forth. And many of us don't have that
[24:53] experience and so forth. So So folks
[24:55] feel more comfortable uh creating a
[24:57] recording, sharing that recording, and
[24:59] so forth. So again, we'll we'll we'll
[25:01] work with whatever with everybody else.
[25:02] Just like I told you uh that
[25:06] everything you do is optional, same
[25:07] thing with the team. I'm not forcing
[25:08] anybody to be a a mentor in one of the
[25:12] uh the tracks.
[25:13] Um and lastly, uh we mentioned this in
[25:16] the beginning of the program is the AI
[25:18] fluency will be for everybody. Again,
[25:21] it's optional for you to join for some
[25:23] of you uh that are building some really
[25:25] cool things.
[25:27] You know, it might be basic, so of
[25:29] course feel free to skip it, but there's
[25:30] a lot of folks uh
[25:32] in here today that have never
[25:35] you know, put AI to to an application
[25:38] aspect uh as well. So I'm going to
[25:40] quickly shift uh because I want to show
[25:42] you
[25:43] what the internship will look like.
[25:45] Again, this will open on Monday, and
[25:47] I'll be very honest with you.
[25:49] I took a small vacation before this
[25:52] um
[25:53] and I wanted to have enough time, so we
[25:55] need a few more days to do this. And
[25:56] again, remember this, we are running a
[25:59] real business.
[26:01] Uh this our business is not this
[26:03] internship. We're doing this to to paid
[26:05] forward and so forth. So we we still
[26:07] have to go out there, talk to clients,
[26:10] uh work on our product, uh solve
[26:12] problems, do payroll, which is today,
[26:16] all of these different um
[26:18] you know, things. So hopefully we'll
[26:21] open up the internship portal uh on
[26:23] Monday. Uh I'll be very honest with you.
[26:25] I'll be here Saturday and Sunday working
[26:27] through it. We'll have a bunch of folks
[26:29] through that. We're still finalizing
[26:31] some of the program as well, and I'll
[26:32] show you that as well. But I think it's
[26:34] super super important. So um
[26:37] By the way, FAQs um
[26:40] everything we did, and I mentioned this
[26:42] in the first video, is we're doing
[26:43] everything with AI.
[26:44] This is the only way we can do this, and
[26:46] I think this there's this is really a
[26:47] huge opportunity. And for me, you know,
[26:50] as as as as as as the
[26:52] you know, as the leader of this
[26:53] organization, it's a validator of what
[26:56] you can do with a with AI. We built this
[26:58] platform, this program with a month and
[27:01] a half ago. And everything you see, we
[27:03] had over a million people, we've got 38,
[27:05] you know, thousand uh interns.
[27:08] Um not everybody will obviously
[27:09] participate and so forth, but we've had
[27:11] 38,000 applications.
[27:13] Uh we've built the programs, the uh
[27:15] again, there's a lot of human element in
[27:17] there, but traditionally this would have
[27:19] taken us
[27:20] 6 to 12 months with 5 to 10 people. So,
[27:24] I think this is really an amazing
[27:25] validator. It's really for me a a way an
[27:29] amazing way to validate that AI is
[27:30] absolutely real. Um what we're doing
[27:33] with the FAQs, by the way, uh every
[27:34] week, uh it'll automate uh and basically
[27:37] look at the support and it'll look at
[27:39] the comments. We still have a few things
[27:40] to tweak and so forth. Um
[27:43] and it it updates these FAQs, right? Uh
[27:46] we will hope we'll hopefully will will
[27:48] actually connect this to a chatbot, so
[27:50] you can also uh have have that. Um
[27:54] Once, by the way, everybody should be
[27:55] able to log in into the portal, by the
[27:57] way, internship.flyranch.ai.
[28:00] Um
[28:00] we use LinkedIn. A lot of folks of you
[28:03] asked why we use LinkedIn for
[28:05] verification. I think it's a simple
[28:07] thing. We want to make sure that we have
[28:08] real folks in here. We don't want to
[28:11] have any you know, different approaches,
[28:14] uh you know,
[28:15] have no issues, bottom line. So, you
[28:16] should be able to log in. If you had a
[28:18] couple of you had some issues with the
[28:20] um
[28:21] um
[28:22] uh with the sign-in with LinkedIn, your
[28:25] LinkedIn profile has to have a email,
[28:27] um and it also has to be a verified
[28:29] email. So, if you don't have that and
[28:31] you're having issues, most likely,
[28:33] um you know, we'll
[28:35] we'll work.
[28:37] So, as you get in here, and again, this
[28:40] is just my June cohort. This is our test
[28:42] cohort. So, you will see the July
[28:44] cohort, you'll see all of these
[28:45] different things. The first thing I will
[28:47] ask every single one of you uh uh is to
[28:50] fill out your profile, okay? We've We've
[28:53] made some changes to the profile. We've
[28:55] added your social links. We've added the
[28:58] ability for you to upload your CV. By
[29:00] the way, this is super super important.
[29:03] Upload um
[29:05] your CV because part of this is we're
[29:07] working with a couple of different We're
[29:09] trying to get a couple of recruiting
[29:10] companies to help and and so forth. So
[29:12] again, we're trying to create
[29:14] opportunities beyond this. So having
[29:15] your CV, we're going to do some AI
[29:17] auditing and so forth and so forth.
[29:20] A little bit about you. I think it's so
[29:21] important for us to to know and learn
[29:24] not just about your professional
[29:26] aspiration but as as a human and what
[29:29] you do and
[29:31] you know, for me I'm a I love football,
[29:33] soccer.
[29:36] We still have a team and that's my
[29:37] trophy up there that my team won and
[29:39] Adam might not agree with that but fair
[29:42] and square.
[29:44] Um
[29:45] And then just please go ahead and fill
[29:46] out the profile, upload all of these
[29:48] different aspects. So that's super
[29:50] important. As you log in hopefully on
[29:52] Monday, you will
[29:54] see some onboarding tasks. Now again,
[29:56] some of these onboarding tasks are going
[29:58] to be These are not final by the way. So
[30:00] nothing you see here is final. So we're
[30:02] still finalizing that. So you'll see
[30:04] things like completing your profiles,
[30:06] understand why we're building,
[30:08] understand like where to look for
[30:09] information because again, one of the
[30:10] things we don't want to do and again,
[30:12] I'll be very honest with you.
[30:13] If you want to progress in this world,
[30:15] you have to read. You have to make sure
[30:18] that you're
[30:19] fully immersed in what you're signing up
[30:21] to. If you go through the process and
[30:23] then again, if somebody asks
[30:25] you know, two months from now and is
[30:27] this a
[30:28] you know, is there a fee to this?
[30:29] Obviously, somebody has missed some
[30:31] information. So it's super super
[30:32] important to follow all of those
[30:33] different details. Now again, whether
[30:36] you know, you go out there and get a job
[30:38] next month and so forth, the same
[30:40] applies. Wherever you go and whatever
[30:42] you do in life, you got to make sure uh
[30:45] uh to be fully immersed, to understand
[30:46] where you're what you're committing
[30:47] yourself, uh and so forth. Um
[30:50] we will have some onboarding tasks for
[30:52] AI for each track. So, for the fluency,
[30:55] uh for different tracks, so you'll see
[30:57] those there. By the way, I And again, we
[31:00] want you to follow us, and we'll talk a
[31:01] little bit about that at the end. I
[31:02] think this is super important because
[31:04] again, it creates this engagement, this
[31:05] community, and so forth. So, onboarding
[31:08] tasks on Monday, these are small tasks.
[31:10] You You should be able to run through
[31:12] them uh on the portal,
[31:14] um and so forth.
[31:16] Um
[31:17] as you get into it. By the way, this is
[31:18] super important. Announcements. So,
[31:20] every announcement we've sent through
[31:21] email will live here, right? So,
[31:23] everything we sent through email, we
[31:25] will put it here. So, if you If you
[31:27] missed an email, if you uh you know, you
[31:30] have a like me uh 10,000 unread emails,
[31:33] and you can't keep up with everything,
[31:36] uh
[31:36] just log in here, you'll be able to see
[31:39] uh all the different announcements.
[31:40] There'll be announcements related to uh
[31:42] events, to updates, to um you know,
[31:46] assignments, resources, but also the uh
[31:49] uh uh
[31:50] uh uh
[31:51] announcements that we we've actually
[31:53] shared. Like, for example, when I sent
[31:55] when we sent this one around the um
[31:58] uh this uh today's event. So, everything
[32:01] you will see, and you can already access
[32:03] announcements right now. So, if you log
[32:04] in into your internship portal, you'll
[32:06] be able to see announcements. Everything
[32:08] else opens up uh on Monday. Uh you'll
[32:11] have the ability to see the schedule.
[32:12] Again, we're going to rework a couple of
[32:13] these things uh hopefully over the next
[32:15] few days, uh but you'll see all the
[32:17] different events. We we will have the
[32:19] calendar as well. So, again, what I'm
[32:20] trying to do and what we're trying to do
[32:22] is make sure you've got a few different
[32:23] places uh to have all these different
[32:26] information. Uh same thing with
[32:28] assignments, you'll have assignments uh
[32:30] that you'll see here. Sorry, it might be
[32:31] loading a little bit slow cuz probably
[32:32] everybody's logging in right now. So,
[32:35] um
[32:38] we'll it a little bit of time. So,
[32:39] you'll have
[32:41] assignments. You'll be able to read
[32:42] those assignments and then also submit
[32:45] on some of these things. Again, we're
[32:46] still working through some of these
[32:48] kings
[32:49] and hopefully we'll be able to do that.
[32:51] Again, if you don't have a Gmail
[32:52] account, a Google Docs account, that's
[32:54] an easy way to share any type of
[32:57] you know, files and so forth. And again,
[32:59] if you have any questions around that,
[33:01] put them in the comments and we'll work
[33:03] through all of those different things.
[33:06] And as we kind of get through here,
[33:07] you'll also see some documents for your
[33:10] internship. I'll touch base have a
[33:11] separate slide for that. And then as you
[33:13] get closer to the completion, you'll
[33:15] also
[33:16] be able to see
[33:18] and generate your certificate of
[33:21] completion and your recommendation
[33:24] letter as well.
[33:26] Resources, again, this will also
[33:28] slightly change. One of the things we're
[33:30] adding is the ability for you for you to
[33:34] provide us feedback to actually comment
[33:36] on some of these resources to provide
[33:38] feedback to to your fellow interns and
[33:41] so forth.
[33:45] Sorry if yeah, but again, a lot of this
[33:47] will change, but I just want to give you
[33:48] this you will have access to this fully
[33:50] full intern portal next week. You'll be
[33:52] able to see that. Go to
[33:54] internship.flyrink.ai
[33:56] and sign in if you haven't done that
[33:59] yet. There's a few other cool things
[34:01] we're working on. We're working on the
[34:03] CV audit, the LinkedIn audit. Part of
[34:05] this is also it's going to be part of
[34:07] some of the guest mentor sessions and so
[34:09] forth. This is
[34:11] we're also going to hopefully work on
[34:12] some job opportunities as well where
[34:15] we're going to syndicate
[34:18] and curate some of the opportunities.
[34:20] Again, the best thing that we can do is
[34:22] work together in this community to to
[34:24] make sure that people understand that
[34:25] this program exists, that it's real,
[34:28] that it's full of real and amazing
[34:30] individual and talented individuals like
[34:32] yourself so that we can get more and
[34:34] more people into this
[34:38] uh uh
[34:39] opportunity to help. So again, this will
[34:41] open hopefully Monday. Keep an eye on
[34:44] it. You can already log in. You'll be
[34:47] able to see the kickoff prep if you
[34:49] haven't done that. Um
[34:51] and so forth. Um but the announcements
[34:54] is already available. So please um
[34:57] you're able to already
[34:59] um check some of these announcements and
[35:00] this is what we're going to continue to
[35:02] do.
[35:02] Uh I also want to share with you
[35:03] something we've built internally, what
[35:05] we call Intern HQ. Uh you cannot access
[35:07] this. This is just for a few uh existing
[35:10] folks here.
[35:11] Um
[35:12] and this is again, we're using AI. I
[35:15] think this is also something that
[35:17] everybody here should be proud of. We're
[35:19] we're we're building so much
[35:21] so much faster. And I think that's such
[35:23] an amazing opportunity for all of us and
[35:25] that's what you're going to be learning.
[35:26] You're going to be learning how to build
[35:27] faster. Again, traditionally when you're
[35:29] building a feature or or something part
[35:31] of a product where it took you months to
[35:33] plan, to to research, we can build
[35:37] things in days. And that's something
[35:39] that I think that exposure itself um is
[35:43] uh super important. The reason why I'm
[35:44] bringing this up is we are working on
[35:47] the program. So here as you can see um
[35:50] these are all going to be the different
[35:52] tasks. Um so
[35:54] uh we still have some stuff that we need
[35:56] to finalize. We need to tweak, but think
[35:58] about the effort that goes into this.
[36:01] This is not a small feat and again we
[36:02] started a month and a half ago. Some of
[36:04] these things were you know, constantly
[36:06] evolving and so forth. So every single
[36:08] one of these tasks
[36:11] um uh you know, will be either an
[36:13] assignment, a resource, uh and so forth.
[36:16] And again, we've got assignments again
[36:19] uh for all the different tracks. We've
[36:20] got the AI track, the ML track and so
[36:22] forth. So
[36:24] quite a lot of things as you can see uh
[36:27] that we're working on. So, again, I just
[36:29] say this with the utmost respect. Please
[36:32] be patient. We're going to work through
[36:34] this. Give us some time. I don't want to
[36:36] just put something in front of you that
[36:38] I'm not happy with, right? So, again, we
[36:41] we literally sit down evenings,
[36:43] weekends. We read through some of this
[36:44] stuff. We share with each other. I say,
[36:46] "Hey, I know you've got this big
[36:48] deadline. Power through it, but please,
[36:51] when you get a chance, I want your
[36:52] opinion on some of these things." So, I
[36:54] think that's super super important to
[36:56] understand
[36:58] of that. So,
[37:00] again,
[37:01] super super important internship portal.
[37:04] You should be able to sign in because
[37:05] you've applied. So, if you're here,
[37:07] you've signed in. It's the same place
[37:09] you where you applied. Announcements,
[37:11] you can see all announcements already.
[37:13] We open it up on Monday when we finalize
[37:15] some of these things, and hopefully
[37:17] we'll be okay. Yes, everything we see
[37:19] what you see today will be recorded, and
[37:22] that's one of the reasons why YouTube is
[37:23] actually nice because any live session
[37:25] automatically gets recorded, and we can
[37:28] easily
[37:29] rewatch it.
[37:31] All right. So, continuing here.
[37:36] The way the program, by the way,
[37:39] structured, like I said, um
[37:41] it's self-paced, but for us, we need to
[37:45] look at this in different chunks, right?
[37:46] So, starting next week, we'll have some
[37:49] onboarding. You'll meet with the the
[37:52] lead track mentors. We're going to talk
[37:54] a little bit about Fly Rank. We're going
[37:55] to show you the applications that we
[37:57] built, the the product that we've built,
[38:00] how we work, and so forth. So, week one
[38:03] and two will be that. You'll complete
[38:04] onboarding, and then we get into the the
[38:07] work, right? So, depending on your
[38:10] track, and so forth.
[38:12] And at towards the end of it, we're
[38:14] going to have a what we call a capstone.
[38:16] A capstone is basically like a final
[38:18] project, um
[38:20] and so forth.
[38:23] Again, uh you don't have to follow this,
[38:25] but this is what we're following, but
[38:27] you follow your self-paced
[38:30] uh program.
[38:32] Um
[38:36] If if you wouldn't mind, Adela,
[38:37] internship.flyrank in there for the
[38:40] access portal.
[38:44] Uh I've went through this, so uh you you
[38:46] you will see this in there, but this is
[38:48] just an overview, but again, it's
[38:49] internship.flyrank.ai.
[38:51] You can go in there today. Uh again,
[38:53] that's how you applied, and I know some
[38:55] of you
[38:56] uh you know, uh might be confused about
[38:57] that, but that's that's where you're
[38:59] going to go. So, hopefully that's clear.
[39:00] Again, rewatch it if you need. I'm not
[39:02] an AI.
[39:03] [laughter]
[39:04] I wish. Uh
[39:08] [clears throat]
[39:09] Internship documents. So, for some of
[39:11] you, not everybody, um a bunch of you
[39:13] have requested different types of
[39:15] documents. Of course, an acceptance
[39:17] letter.
[39:18] Um you your your your your university um
[39:22] have some requirement forms and so
[39:23] forth. Progress report, where supervisor
[39:26] will do that. And then of course, at the
[39:28] end, the completion and so forth. So,
[39:31] what we're doing, uh we're standardizing
[39:33] this. Everybody will have access to it.
[39:35] Um so, obviously the acceptance letter,
[39:38] uh most of you already saw. You can have
[39:40] that. We've we've added the the the
[39:42] duration to be flexible because again,
[39:44] everybody will be on that self-paced
[39:48] program. Self-paced meaning you are on
[39:51] your own, you know, pace, on your own uh
[39:54] rhythm. Um
[39:55] For the university docs, we've uh we've
[39:58] evaluated all the different um you know,
[40:00] documents you've shared. We're going to
[40:01] basically be able to generate these for
[40:03] you. Again, please give us some time. Uh
[40:06] we're still working through all the
[40:08] different kicks kinks through all the
[40:10] different uh variations and so forth. Um
[40:13] your activity in the in in the
[40:15] internship portal will actually be your
[40:18] progress report. So, when you uh and
[40:22] you'll see this next week, when you uh
[40:23] watch a um
[40:26] [clears throat]
[40:26] uh a live session or a recording, you'll
[40:29] be able to mark it as done. When you
[40:31] complete a a resource, you'll mark it as
[40:33] done. When you complete an assignment,
[40:34] well, then you you'll mark it as done.
[40:36] So, your activity on the portal and on
[40:39] your work will basically automatically
[40:41] generate these progress reports, whether
[40:44] it's a weekly report, logbook, or you
[40:47] know, if you need a monthly report,
[40:48] it'll generate it for you so that you
[40:50] can give it to your um you know,
[40:52] university supervisors and so forth. And
[40:55] on the completion, by the way, this is
[40:57] something that we're we're we're
[40:58] building um
[41:00] is you'll get not just a certificate of
[41:04] completion, but we're going to give you
[41:05] a full progress report of of your
[41:08] engagement, of um all the things that
[41:10] you've done, which is something that you
[41:12] can present to your university, which
[41:13] again, it'll be very detailed and I
[41:15] think will absolutely
[41:17] um you know,
[41:18] um
[41:19] check those requirements. And I do want
[41:20] to say this, um
[41:22] we've held internships in different
[41:23] formats. This is a real thing.
[41:26] You know, we might not be able to talk
[41:27] on on a one-to-one basis, but the
[41:29] curriculum, the exposure that you get
[41:32] for this is absolutely a quality type of
[41:35] internship. Now again, if you have an
[41:37] internship opportunity somewhere else,
[41:39] we absolutely urge you to get that.
[41:42] There's a lot of different uh
[41:43] opportunities and we absolutely are
[41:45] happy with that. So, make sure that in
[41:47] if you don't have that, to take an
[41:49] opportunity
[41:51] um of that.
[41:57] We've mentioned Anthropic courses.
[42:00] So, this will be done through Skilljar.
[42:02] Uh you will actually get a um
[42:05] uh 10x.ai email. We're working on that.
[42:07] We'll basically set it up as a uh
[42:09] forwarding email. Um again, we can't
[42:12] spend uh, we don't have that much
[42:15] resources to to give everybody a Google
[42:17] uh, Workspace license. Uh, but these are
[42:20] honestly important. So, there's 19 free
[42:22] courses that you you get to do. Um,
[42:25] again, everything is optional, but I I
[42:27] recommend that you do every single one.
[42:30] And at the end of your completion,
[42:31] you'll have your uh, your certificate
[42:34] and so forth. We are in touch with as a
[42:37] as a as a Claude partner network
[42:38] partner, we're still we're still in
[42:40] registered status. We're working for our
[42:42] select uh, status. Um, and we're we're
[42:45] hoping to to get them to support this
[42:47] program so that we can hopefully offer
[42:49] some of the this this tier two, tier
[42:52] three uh, certifications as well. That's
[42:55] a separate conversation and hopefully
[42:57] we'll get uh, to to that aspect at some
[43:00] point in time.
[43:02] Um, we've built this program around free
[43:05] tiers. So, you don't need a ChatGPT Pro,
[43:08] a Claude, you know, Max uh,
[43:11] subscription. You don't need to spend
[43:13] hundreds and hundreds of dollars.
[43:15] Um, we can't either, by the way. So, the
[43:17] program is built around the free tier.
[43:20] There's some amazing tools and as part
[43:22] of our AI fluency track and all the
[43:24] different lead mentors, they'll show you
[43:25] the the the the the free tools that
[43:28] exist out there
[43:30] and how to utilize them. So, when you're
[43:33] doing your assignment, nothing should
[43:35] really take uh, for you to have a paid
[43:38] version of something. So, I think this
[43:40] is again, in some cases, if we run into
[43:43] some issues, for example, with the
[43:44] machine learning interns, uh, you know,
[43:46] there's a few um, tiers with Google um,
[43:49] you know, cloud and so forth that again,
[43:51] we we're double we've double-checked,
[43:53] but some of that stuff might, you know,
[43:54] require some additional things. But
[43:56] again, the program is built around free
[43:57] tiers, doesn't require you to um, you
[44:01] know, have the
[44:02] a very specific model or or something
[44:05] like that.
[44:09] And again,
[44:10] this internship is more than just the
[44:12] assignments, the live events, and so
[44:14] forth. So,
[44:16] uh we want to prepare you for for the
[44:18] for the world beyond Flywire Rank. And
[44:20] again, for some of you that do,
[44:22] hopefully one day get an opportunity to
[44:23] be part of this, uh you know, here in a
[44:26] different scheme, certainly uh those
[44:28] opportunities exist, but our goal is to
[44:30] also give you exposure and so forth.
[44:32] Having guys like, again, I go back to
[44:34] Yasmin Ali, who was a professional
[44:36] LinkedIn uh coach, um
[44:39] and, you know, branding mastermind. So,
[44:41] having those folks where they will teach
[44:43] you and and show you how to position
[44:46] your LinkedIn profile, how to, you know,
[44:48] improve your CV, how to uh just look
[44:50] really professional, and how to be uh
[44:53] again, from a uh uh professional
[44:55] perspective, a desirable uh person to
[44:58] work with, right? So, we're going to
[44:59] work through these different CV audits,
[45:01] the LinkedIn audits. Uh we're working on
[45:03] this curated job portal, which we hope
[45:05] that it will actually expand um with
[45:08] more and more partners, with recruiting
[45:10] firms. Again, we've reached out to a lot
[45:11] of people in the beginning. We're going
[45:12] to continue to do this. So,
[45:14] um
[45:15] we're also adding some cool things.
[45:16] Again, part of this is also we're doing
[45:18] some experime- experimentation on our
[45:19] end, is we're going to grade people
[45:22] internally and give you a ability to
[45:24] also create some healthy competition and
[45:26] so forth. We have some really cool
[45:28] ideas. Some of those ideas might not
[45:29] work out. Uh one of those I mentioned
[45:31] here is a mentor match. Again, if we can
[45:33] actually build a really amazing
[45:34] community and and with guest mentors and
[45:37] you and creating a an opportunity kind
[45:39] of create this way to match with
[45:41] mentors. Uh plus, we're working with on
[45:43] on all these different things around
[45:44] perks, awards, um and uh so forth.
[45:48] Again, this is beyond just coming in
[45:50] here, doing a couple of assignments. The
[45:52] community is being part of something and
[45:54] contributing um
[45:57] um
[45:58] to the greater cause of Flywire Rank.
[46:01] This is the most important slide that
[46:04] everybody here needs to understand. For
[46:06] most of you, it's a it's a no-brainer,
[46:08] but it it has to be absolutely uh said.
[46:12] You have my respect, and I expect yours.
[46:16] And I expect your respect not just
[46:18] towards me. That's the easy part. Uh I
[46:20] expect your respect towards the entire
[46:23] community, to all the guest mentors, to
[46:26] all the lead mentors that are giving
[46:28] their time, to each other, which is the
[46:30] most important thing. So, please,
[46:33] please, please, treat this program with
[46:36] respect. This is not a spam. This is not
[46:39] a scam. This is not This is a real
[46:42] opportunity. Uh I I went to bed at 4:00
[46:45] a.m. to prepare for some of these
[46:47] things. I'm tired, but I'm here cuz I
[46:50] respect your time. I respect all the
[46:52] folks that go beyond this to do this.
[46:54] So, respect is the utmost
[46:58] ingredient
[47:00] uh in in the success of this program and
[47:03] in the success of your career. So,
[47:05] please, please do that.
[47:06] Um
[47:08] So, absolutely no harassment, spam,
[47:09] abuse, please. When we open up some of
[47:11] the community aspects like Discord and
[47:13] so forth, super important. We have uh we
[47:16] have um people from many different
[47:19] backgrounds. We have very people that
[47:21] are very conservative, uh you know,
[47:24] ladies that are covered. Uh so, please
[47:26] uh respect everybody's culture. I do
[47:29] that, and I expect the same from
[47:31] everybody else, okay? So, uh the best
[47:34] thing to do is
[47:35] commit yourself to this program, commit
[47:38] yourself to what you can get out of this
[47:41] this exposure and all of the things that
[47:43] we've been mentioning up to this point.
[47:45] And if you do that, and you you do that
[47:46] with respect, and you you you come here
[47:48] to help others. And by the way, helping
[47:50] others is how you learn
[47:52] because that helps you validate all the
[47:54] things that you know. And I say this uh
[47:56] to the team, and I I say it every single
[47:58] day. The greatest thing about working is
[48:01] the teamwork, the ability that you have
[48:03] folks that will help you. I don't have
[48:05] all the answers. I'm not the smartest
[48:08] person in in this in this room.
[48:10] You know, but I know how to bring people
[48:13] together. I know how to um you know, ask
[48:15] and work together and and hopefully
[48:17] Progate will do that. And that
[48:19] opportunity, by the way, you have as
[48:21] well. In this community um and so forth.
[48:31] So, again, some of this might seem a bit
[48:34] redundant. I think it's super super
[48:35] important. So, portal opens on Monday.
[48:38] You can already access it, but you can
[48:39] only see the announcements. Everything
[48:41] else, again, we're going to work on it
[48:43] Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
[48:44] And Monday morning, hopefully, it'll be
[48:46] open. Uh we will already schedule by
[48:49] tomorrow, you will you will start seeing
[48:51] on the calendar uh and in the
[48:53] announcements the next uh events. So,
[48:56] for example, next week Steve Wiedeman,
[48:58] uh our SEO expert, will do our first
[49:00] guest mentor session. Uh our track
[49:03] leads, which we'll touch base on here um
[49:06] quickly,
[49:07] uh will uh do the the program overview.
[49:10] They'll they'll get to meet you. You'll
[49:12] get to meet them. You'll get to go over
[49:14] the program. And then we're going to
[49:15] continue. We'll try to get as much of
[49:18] the
[49:19] uh events scheduled ahead, so maybe 2
[49:21] weeks ahead. But again, with with
[49:23] vacations, people time, sometimes people
[49:25] are sick as well. Uh we have to respect
[49:27] that. So, we want to make sure that we
[49:29] have that flexibility. So, super super
[49:32] important uh to understand that.
[49:39] And again, self-paced on your own
[49:41] schedule.
[49:46] Uh
[49:47] onboarding this rest of the week. So,
[49:49] it's Wednesday. You've got Thursday,
[49:51] Friday. Take the weekend off if you
[49:54] have. Um make sure you you you connect
[49:57] with us. Uh again, subscribe on YouTube,
[49:59] by the way, all the live sessions will
[50:01] be there. It'll show you the the time
[50:03] zone in your time zone, so that's
[50:05] actually nice uh little
[50:07] um you know, hint or hack to to do that.
[50:10] Fill out your profile, import your CV,
[50:13] even if it's not perfect, import it.
[50:15] We'll we'll actually have AI audit
[50:17] these, provide feedback, and then
[50:19] hopefully as we get more of these
[50:20] recruiting firms to help us, we can work
[50:22] on improving that. Subscribe to the
[50:24] calendar if you haven't done that.
[50:26] Again, we're going to have a few
[50:27] different ways to do that, but it it is
[50:30] most likely an issue on how you're
[50:31] signed in.
[50:33] Um and so forth.
[50:36] Quick touch base on the tracks and we're
[50:39] we're going to be done here in about
[50:40] 10-15 minutes, then we can go through
[50:42] some of the questions and see um you
[50:44] know, what we can answer through that as
[50:47] well.
[50:50] So, we have six tracks. Again,
[50:53] um
[50:54] they're broad tracks, and we did this on
[50:56] purpose, by the way. We didn't want to
[50:57] do a a vibe coding track uh because I
[50:59] think it's important for everybody to
[51:01] understand um
[51:04] I think
[51:05] being
[51:06] enabled by AI or having a you know, be a
[51:09] much more impactful utilizing AI, you
[51:11] need to have a broader understanding of
[51:13] things. So, the general AI fluency, I
[51:15] think this is just there's so many
[51:16] amazing tools, so many ways amazing ways
[51:19] to uh
[51:20] again, engineer uh through AI, and I
[51:23] think everybody should go through
[51:24] through this track. You got some amazing
[51:26] folks uh that you'll meet uh and so
[51:29] forth. Uh front-end engineering and
[51:31] back-end engineering, again, we we did
[51:32] separate these separate these two. Um
[51:35] you know, in the future, this might be a
[51:37] full stack. It depends, but I think
[51:40] um
[51:41] front-end um
[51:43] is still an art. It's not just a
[51:45] technical aspect. Uh being a front-end
[51:47] developer, in my opinion, is probably
[51:49] one of the hardest things because you
[51:50] have to be a marketer because you have
[51:51] to work with pixels. You have to
[51:53] work with designers and understand what
[51:55] pixel perfect really means and build
[51:58] these experiences that again through
[52:00] responsive, mobile, desktop, different,
[52:02] you know, browsers. So, I think it's
[52:04] really a bigger headache than just kind
[52:05] of building back-end solutions, to be
[52:07] honest. So, we kept it separate because
[52:09] we got some amazing mentors that will
[52:11] give you some exposure to that as well.
[52:13] The back-end AI engineer, pretty
[52:14] straightforward. Uh this again will be
[52:16] more of a full stack opportunity as
[52:19] well. The machine learning one, which
[52:20] again we have the most amount of
[52:23] machine learning interns, which is
[52:24] something that I'm very excited about
[52:26] because I think there's so many
[52:28] questions I have for the team that we
[52:30] haven't gotten to you because again
[52:32] we're still a small team
[52:34] to hopefully help us solve some of these
[52:36] bigger questions around uh
[52:40] you know, machine learning and how we
[52:41] can adapt that towards Fly Rank itself.
[52:45] And then we have UI UX design, which
[52:48] again a lot of folks think that um AI
[52:52] can just do everything now. It's it's
[52:54] getting much much better, but still
[52:56] having those core foundations,
[52:58] understanding what to look for and you
[53:00] still have to have an eye for some of
[53:02] these things. So, I think it's super
[53:03] super important to be exposed to some of
[53:06] these folks. And then on the AI
[53:08] marketing side, which you're going to
[53:09] get
[53:10] an amazing
[53:12] team to support you and give you
[53:15] opportunity to understand how we're
[53:16] doing things, how we're trying to solve
[53:18] things. And again, we're not perfect.
[53:20] We've got a lot a lot of things to
[53:21] figure out. Um a lot of things to
[53:24] um really just get better at and
[53:26] hopefully this exposure to all of you
[53:28] and what you've been doing will also be
[53:31] part of that. Um
[53:34] and then we also have these two small
[53:36] modules, which is really going to be
[53:38] more through guest mentoring, which is
[53:40] the career career readiness and
[53:42] professional foundations. So, folks like
[53:44] Yasmine are going to help with making
[53:47] sure that you're professionally sound
[53:49] and ready for your career.
[53:57] This is real work,
[53:59] real impact. Um,
[54:01] we the what I told to the team to do is
[54:04] I didn't want to create a program that
[54:07] um
[54:09] I didn't want to create a program
[54:11] that
[54:13] is theoretical. You're doing that. Some
[54:16] of you have obviously most of you have
[54:18] gone through school and so forth and I
[54:21] didn't want to do that. And I want to
[54:22] make make it easier on us as well. So,
[54:24] uh what I said is whatever you're doing
[54:26] today, whatever you know, problem we're
[54:29] trying to solve, whatever we're trying
[54:30] to
[54:31] um
[54:32] you know,
[54:33] do ourselves, that's the curriculum.
[54:36] Right? So, don't go out there and if
[54:37] you're talking about marketing, don't go
[54:38] out there and talk about newspapers or
[54:41] you know, TV advertising because that's
[54:43] not what we do, right? And talk about
[54:46] the things that matter to us and that
[54:48] that you're good at and that's the
[54:50] curriculum. And I think that's a really
[54:51] an important part. So, I think this is
[54:53] why this internship in my opinion is
[54:55] very very valuable.
[54:58] Um, again, in some of the assignments
[55:01] and resources and so forth,
[55:04] um
[55:05] you might think that it's not that
[55:07] applicable, but it's important to
[55:09] understand that some foundational things
[55:10] we do want to cover and again,
[55:11] especially because um if you remember
[55:13] from earlier is we have folks from many
[55:16] many different places and um we want to
[55:20] make sure that we you know, this is
[55:23] beneficial for uh everybody.
[55:31] The first track, AI fluency, you are in
[55:34] amazing hands with Leo um
[55:38] uh and Eldin.
[55:39] Um so, they will take you through this.
[55:41] Uh you're going to learn around
[55:43] prompting, what tools to use, how to
[55:45] basically ship end-to-end.
[55:48] Uh part of this is by the way um so,
[55:51] uh one of the things I told them to also
[55:53] do is that
[55:54] we should be able to your capstone
[55:56] project, your main project should be
[55:58] something that everybody can walk away
[56:00] with, right? So, yes, part of that is
[56:01] the the contribution to um you know,
[56:05] Flywire Inc. and some of the things
[56:07] we're trying to solve and do better, but
[56:09] it it should be something for all of
[56:11] you. And many of you probably have your
[56:13] own website, uh your own portfolio,
[56:16] maybe your own kind of brand, but the
[56:17] goal is to basically enable you
[56:20] uh and the rest of you to do that. And I
[56:22] think that's the future, by the way,
[56:24] that um
[56:26] you know, careers, most of these
[56:28] careers, most of your careers are going
[56:30] to be these you know, you're going to
[56:31] work on your own. You I'm not saying
[56:33] you're going to be a freelancer, but
[56:34] you're going to be somebody that um
[56:36] you're going to have to have your
[56:37] portfolio, you're going to have to show
[56:38] showcase things. People will not go
[56:40] through this traditional hiring process
[56:42] anymore. And I think having this uh is
[56:44] going to be super super
[56:47] um
[56:47] valuable.
[56:49] Uh the front-end engineer again, Evan,
[56:51] uh who I've worked with
[56:54] 15 years. He's is our CTO uh here at
[56:58] Flywire Inc. Um
[57:00] uh he's in Greece, he's in Athens,
[57:02] Greece. So, if you're uh in Greece, uh
[57:04] you know, say hello to him. Um
[57:07] um
[57:07] and he'll be supported by Leo and Adnan.
[57:10] Adnan here in Sarajevo, Bosnia, who's in
[57:12] the is a one of the solutions uh
[57:15] architects uh in our Prela company, and
[57:17] then Leo. And the reason why Leo is also
[57:19] here is because some of these things
[57:20] basically overlap as well. But, you'll
[57:23] you'll get exposed to some of the work
[57:25] that we do across Shopify, Shopline, uh
[57:27] which is uh hopefully going to be one of
[57:29] our first sponsors for this program, and
[57:32] you'll also get exposed to that uh to
[57:34] all the things around this modern tech
[57:35] stack that we consider Tailwind,
[57:37] Bootstrap, React and view. I'm sure
[57:39] there's a lot of other things and if you
[57:40] ask shout out to Admir Shahid, I'm sure
[57:43] he'll put Rust in here somewhere. So
[57:46] So um
[57:48] but you'll be able to really understand
[57:49] what this pixel perfect aspect means um
[57:53] of this. So
[57:56] Yeah, everybody goes to AI Fluency. So
[57:58] again, again, optional but you can go
[58:00] through it.
[58:01] Um back in engineering, Hadis who
[58:03] recently joined us, he was on a bit of a
[58:06] stint
[58:07] uh on his own but uh realized that uh
[58:10] this is the place to be and then Akis
[58:12] who also worked with um
[58:15] um you know, for very very long time. So
[58:18] both of these folks are amazing. Hadis
[58:19] will lead the program, Akis will be
[58:21] supporting uh behind the lines but
[58:23] you'll be able to really uh help us
[58:25] hopefully, you know, push some nice uh
[58:28] features around APIs, data models, rag
[58:32] agent loops, all the different things
[58:33] that kind of overlap uh with building uh
[58:36] in today's uh AI software world.
[58:41] [clears throat]
[58:42] Mirza who's very excited um
[58:45] uh
[58:47] he's my personal trainer even though I
[58:49] don't go to the gym often these days
[58:51] because I've been busy through this so
[58:54] uh but he's uh super excited about uh
[58:56] seeing you all um
[58:58] uh for the machine learning track. This
[59:00] is our biggest track uh so Mirza will um
[59:03] get absolutely as much support as we can
[59:05] through the different guest mentors,
[59:07] through different aspects and so forth
[59:08] but he's absolutely capable and and
[59:10] ready and excited. I'm sure uh you have
[59:12] also seen him on LinkedIn and so forth.
[59:15] Um we have a lot of questions. We have a
[59:17] lot of lot of questions around
[59:20] data. We by the way consume 70 million
[59:23] records per day
[59:26] into our data pipeline. So we we we're
[59:28] sitting on a lot of data, a lot of
[59:30] opportunity to um
[59:33] uh analyze uh
[59:35] and do all the amazing things. So, this
[59:37] is something that I'm personally really
[59:38] really excited to see what you guys will
[59:40] find and help us hopefully build a
[59:42] better better product.
[59:46] Uh Ernad uh will be leading our uh UI
[59:49] and UX design um
[59:51] uh
[59:52] uh
[59:53] track uh amazing human
[59:56] again, very hard-working. By the way,
[59:58] he'll be supported uh by uh Pavel uh
[01:00:01] who's actually behind the camera, uh
[01:00:03] Admeet as well, uh that are supporting
[01:00:06] this as well. Uh and and we also have
[01:00:08] Mirza uh that will uh hopefully chime in
[01:00:10] and support some of you. So, again,
[01:00:12] design uh you know, certainly being
[01:00:14] impacted by AI and you know, everybody
[01:00:17] uh can create things. We're also going
[01:00:18] to have some amazing mentor uh guest
[01:00:20] mentors like Ayat as you guys saw to to
[01:00:22] to to do some amazing things. So, I
[01:00:24] think here, um
[01:00:26] the way I'm looking at this is that
[01:00:28] hopefully we'll get you uh to help us
[01:00:30] contribute of how to build designs at
[01:00:32] scale through all of the different
[01:00:33] things that we need on a marketing side,
[01:00:35] landing pages, websites, and so forth.
[01:00:37] So, you're going to get a lot of amazing
[01:00:39] exposure uh and support there as well.
[01:00:43] Uh last not but not least, uh Adel uh
[01:00:46] who's who's here and and somebody that
[01:00:47] again I've I've uh
[01:00:49] speak so highly of um
[01:00:52] and I'm thankful for the last you know,
[01:00:55] four and a half years that he's been,
[01:00:56] you know, by my side. Uh this is going
[01:00:58] to be a really cool track. Uh we have
[01:01:00] some really cool things. But, we have
[01:01:01] some really cool experiments that we're
[01:01:03] going to work together uh and hopefully
[01:01:06] figure out. I think
[01:01:08] this internship is an enabler to AI SEO
[01:01:12] and it's something that we hopefully are
[01:01:14] able to validate frankly together. So,
[01:01:17] you're going to get access to all the
[01:01:18] things that we do. Again, we do, you
[01:01:19] know, we we run meta ads, we run Google
[01:01:22] ads, we run
[01:01:24] um you know, obviously we're doing a lot
[01:01:25] of things on the SEO content side,
[01:01:27] socials, and so forth. So, you'll be
[01:01:28] able to contribute and also be guest
[01:01:31] authors. So, that you know, even leaving
[01:01:33] this internship after you're gone, if
[01:01:36] your article is published, they'll be
[01:01:37] published forever. So, I think this is
[01:01:40] some really, really exciting uh and
[01:01:42] amazing opportunities.
[01:01:44] Um interactions with me, um I will do my
[01:01:48] best to give you as much time as I can.
[01:01:50] Uh we will try to do these weekly Q&As.
[01:01:53] Um I'll most likely have Adel and Tariq
[01:01:55] run some of these Q&As. We'll keep it
[01:01:57] open to the team as well. I'll try to do
[01:01:59] a few. Um
[01:02:01] again, I'm I'm also very busy. I'm as as
[01:02:04] a CEO, I I I don't want to say that, you
[01:02:06] know, uh I work the hardest, but I I do
[01:02:09] I'm committed to this cause. Um I'm
[01:02:11] committed to doing this internship, so
[01:02:13] there's a lot of things. Uh by the way,
[01:02:15] I've I've built this entire internship
[01:02:17] platform uh by myself. There's still a
[01:02:20] lot of folks that uh absolutely support
[01:02:22] this, but
[01:02:23] um my job is to to run this company, to
[01:02:26] to create opportunities, to help folks
[01:02:29] uh do that. So, but I will be around. Um
[01:02:32] I do have a couple of sessions I would
[01:02:33] like to do around mindset. Um
[01:02:36] and uh basically being prepared. So,
[01:02:39] hopefully we can schedule those in.
[01:02:41] Uh and again, I want to also open up
[01:02:42] some of these office hours um that we
[01:02:45] get to sit down with folks, maybe in a
[01:02:47] smaller group, and we can chat. And
[01:02:50] that's something that I I want to
[01:02:51] hopefully try and schedule throughout uh
[01:02:54] this cohort and community.
[01:02:56] I'll quickly run through this. If you
[01:02:58] haven't seen the uh the last LinkedIn
[01:03:00] post, um
[01:03:02] first of all, thank you for your support
[01:03:04] on that. That's so amazing to see how
[01:03:05] fast we can amplify that post with your
[01:03:08] contribution and and tagging those
[01:03:10] folks. They're They're They're so in
[01:03:13] awe. They're so excited to hopefully
[01:03:15] present to you and and through that. So,
[01:03:18] again, I mentioned Yasmine knowledge.
[01:03:19] I'm so excited, so happy I get to see
[01:03:21] him tomorrow, uh so we can hopefully
[01:03:24] align on the schedule on this, but
[01:03:25] having somebody like him, again, people
[01:03:27] I'd pay money to be in this community.
[01:03:30] So, you get it for free. I get to pay
[01:03:32] and you get it for free. Um so, super
[01:03:34] excited about Yasmine. Um John Roman, uh
[01:03:37] which has been a customer of mine since
[01:03:41] 2017. He's been a customer at Wolfpoint,
[01:03:44] at Prella, at uh um
[01:03:47] I forgot all the other companies. We had
[01:03:48] Hull Caps, uh at Shop Circle, Circus
[01:03:51] Now, um
[01:03:53] you know, uh
[01:03:54] and at Flyrank. And somebody that,
[01:03:57] again, I certainly consider as a friend,
[01:03:59] but as an amazing
[01:04:01] uh enabler of all these things. So, so
[01:04:03] much so much knowledge around
[01:04:05] e-commerce, around marketing. They have
[01:04:07] wanted They They have a Netflix show, by
[01:04:09] the way, if you haven't watched. I don't
[01:04:10] know if it's available in some
[01:04:12] countries, but something that you should
[01:04:13] watch.
[01:04:14] Ahmed, who is a partner, uh is a friend,
[01:04:18] he's a he's a brother.
[01:04:20] [laughter]
[01:04:21] Uh he just uh had a baby and want to
[01:04:24] congratulate him on on on doing on
[01:04:26] having a baby uh with Eleni. Uh somebody
[01:04:29] that uh is uh one of the
[01:04:33] biggest enablers of of me, uh of my
[01:04:37] crazy ideas, including this internship.
[01:04:39] Uh
[01:04:40] and um somebody that uh certainly helps
[01:04:43] us uh intro clients, people, and so
[01:04:46] forth. Super super excited. Dr. Deepak
[01:04:48] uh Bucha, I haven't met him uh yet, but
[01:04:50] the team is really really excited uh to
[01:04:53] to have him be part of this program, so
[01:04:55] really uh important. Steve Weideman, uh
[01:04:57] which uh has the session uh next
[01:04:59] Thursday.
[01:05:01] This is who I learned from. This is
[01:05:03] where I learned um
[01:05:04] you know, SEO from, you know, 15, 20
[01:05:07] years ago. It's been a long, long time.
[01:05:09] So, I'm so happy
[01:05:11] uh to to reconnect with him uh and so
[01:05:13] forth.
[01:05:14] Eyad
[01:05:15] I'm so um
[01:05:17] um happy for folks like Eyad to say,
[01:05:20] "Hey, you know what? I believe in what
[01:05:22] you're doing and I'm going to give you
[01:05:23] my time." So, he proactively reached
[01:05:25] out.
[01:05:26] So, I'm really really excited to all the
[01:05:28] things he's going to share with you all.
[01:05:30] Anes, who is one of our friends here in
[01:05:33] our Sarajevo community, works at an
[01:05:35] amazing company called Teleperformance,
[01:05:36] big company, 5 10,000 people.
[01:05:39] And he's in charge of
[01:05:41] AI governance, security, compliance.
[01:05:43] When we talk about AI, nobody talks
[01:05:45] about governance, security, and
[01:05:46] compliance. So, I think this is really
[01:05:48] really
[01:05:49] amazing sessions. I look forward to some
[01:05:51] of these sessions. Um
[01:05:54] Alessandro, worked with him at Shop
[01:05:57] Circle. He was one of the GMs
[01:05:59] on one of the apps that
[01:06:02] you know, we've managed. An amazing
[01:06:03] person. He's a He's a developer by
[01:06:06] trade.
[01:06:08] You know,
[01:06:09] we both obviously left
[01:06:11] Shop Circle, Circus, whatever it's
[01:06:12] called.
[01:06:14] And
[01:06:16] you know, he went to become a web 3.0
[01:06:18] CTO. So, you'll get some
[01:06:20] aspects on um
[01:06:23] you know, crypto, building blockchain,
[01:06:26] and some really really cool things.
[01:06:30] Hadis Muhammadovic, this is one of our
[01:06:31] ex
[01:06:33] you know, colleagues. He's He's at a
[01:06:35] company now here called Symphony, one of
[01:06:37] the biggest you know, tech firms here in
[01:06:39] Sarajevo, working on some really amazing
[01:06:41] projects. He's an ML engineer studying
[01:06:44] in the in the states. So, really excited
[01:06:46] to have him support Mirza and so forth.
[01:06:49] Kemal, one of the most amazing enablers
[01:06:52] of a developer community here in
[01:06:54] Sarajevo.
[01:06:56] An amazing human. Looking forward to
[01:06:58] have him also share his experience.
[01:07:00] Again,
[01:07:01] works on a lot of different cool data
[01:07:03] projects, ML projects, and so forth. Uh
[01:07:06] Yasmin, uh I met um
[01:07:08] in um
[01:07:10] uh at uh through BloomTech. Um
[01:07:13] uh I was at one of the conferences and
[01:07:14] he did amazing and I just wanted him to
[01:07:16] be part of this. Uh Neeraj uh bhai,
[01:07:19] Kemcho bhai, so for any of you
[01:07:21] Gujaratis, maro nam Alen Che, tame
[01:07:23] Kemcho, got to throw that in there. Uh I
[01:07:25] speak a little bit of Gujarati and uh
[01:07:27] Neeraj bhai uh has been a partner in in
[01:07:31] all of the businesses that we've we've
[01:07:33] done uh over the last 15 years and
[01:07:35] forever grateful to him and the rest of
[01:07:37] the bio
[01:07:39] uh
[01:07:39] um that supported me uh throughout these
[01:07:43] uh years. Uh Nadim, who is one of the uh
[01:07:46] uh folks running BloomTech, which is
[01:07:48] again another uh amazing company here in
[01:07:51] um in Sarajevo. So, really excited to
[01:07:52] see uh his uh and I met Sreehar in at
[01:07:56] the in Paris at the
[01:07:58] uh you know, Pitch by Deal and I see
[01:07:59] this young kid, you know, he's 18, 19
[01:08:03] and he's in a nice suit and he uh he's
[01:08:07] pitching and I'm pitching against him. I
[01:08:09] beat him, by the way, but I've got some
[01:08:10] experience on him.
[01:08:12] Um but I was so in awe. He's uh he's
[01:08:15] he's uh he's he's an undergrad at
[01:08:17] Harvard, has two companies sold, um you
[01:08:21] know, uh is running now Archangel and
[01:08:23] him and uh Tai He uh
[01:08:26] um
[01:08:26] are amazing and I think it's important
[01:08:28] for you see to see a different
[01:08:30] perspective, right? You might see my ex-
[01:08:32] perspective of AI and my experience of
[01:08:34] 25 years, but I also want to put you in
[01:08:37] folks that are doing things, you know,
[01:08:38] that are your age, that are they're
[01:08:40] figured certain things out. So, I think
[01:08:41] those types of sessions are absolutely
[01:08:44] absolutely going to be amazing and
[01:08:47] hopefully something that you can figure
[01:08:48] out um
[01:08:51] through that.
[01:08:52] All right, I see a lot of questions
[01:08:54] around uh
[01:08:55] community.
[01:08:57] Um
[01:08:58] [clears throat]
[01:08:59] So, yes, we will open up Discord. Uh
[01:09:01] we're working on it. Part of this is
[01:09:03] also we don't we don't want to just open
[01:09:04] things and just
[01:09:05] you know, all hell breaks loose
[01:09:09] with different channels and so forth.
[01:09:10] So, we do want to create structure.
[01:09:12] Again, I want I want to make sure we we
[01:09:13] don't disrupt the day-to-day of the
[01:09:15] business, right? I don't want Adel
[01:09:16] sitting here and reading every single
[01:09:17] message in Discord. We can't do that,
[01:09:19] right? So, we want to make sure we we
[01:09:21] have a plan to do that. But yes, Discord
[01:09:24] is coming. This is where we'll be able
[01:09:27] to have some of these. And again, what I
[01:09:29] ask of you is to make sure in Discord to
[01:09:31] support each other. You know, I might
[01:09:33] not have time or Adel or the rest of the
[01:09:34] team have time to basically um
[01:09:39] answer your questions, but with each
[01:09:41] other, you guys absolutely
[01:09:43] can.
[01:09:46] How you can support us. So,
[01:09:50] I don't ask for much.
[01:09:51] Uh this program
[01:09:54] is 100% free.
[01:09:58] What I want from you
[01:10:00] is just show us your love.
[01:10:03] I will give you as much
[01:10:06] opportunity as we can absolutely create
[01:10:08] the list, but show us your love. Follow
[01:10:09] us on LinkedIn, on YouTube. Help us
[01:10:12] elevate the the amazing thing we're
[01:10:15] trying to do with Flywire. Including
[01:10:17] this internship. So, give us your love
[01:10:19] love, your support.
[01:10:23] And engage. Engage with me, with the
[01:10:25] team, with the guest mentors, and and so
[01:10:28] forth. Uh
[01:10:30] and support each other. And I think that
[01:10:32] is so so important that if you support
[01:10:35] each other, I think this program becomes
[01:10:37] a valuable experience for every single
[01:10:41] one of us.
[01:10:46] [snorts]
[01:10:46] Testing out some cameras.
[01:10:52] So, what that happens next?
[01:10:54] Again,
[01:10:56] uh we're working on the curriculum.
[01:10:58] Um,
[01:10:58] uh, next week we'll schedule those
[01:11:00] sessions, most likely Tuesday,
[01:11:01] Wednesday, Thursday. Again, everything
[01:11:03] is uh, recorded. Uh, you will get to
[01:11:06] meet your mentor. They'll go over the
[01:11:08] program. They'll go through all the
[01:11:09] resources, the tasks, the live events,
[01:11:13] the guest mentors, which we've
[01:11:14] announced.
[01:11:15] Uh, sessions will start. So, on Monday,
[01:11:18] uh, you'll get access to your portal.
[01:11:20] You'll see your assignments, your tasks,
[01:11:22] and you start working through it. Again,
[01:11:25] building this, we're still iterating.
[01:11:27] Part of this is also, I think, super
[01:11:28] important lesson in product 101, which
[01:11:31] I'm sure uh, Boulay will agree uh, with
[01:11:35] this is iterate, right? And that's what
[01:11:38] we're doing. This program is constantly
[01:11:40] evolving. It's better today than it was
[01:11:42] yesterday. And that's a mindset that
[01:11:44] everybody has when you think about
[01:11:46] building with AI, that just gets
[01:11:48] completely
[01:11:50] um, streamlined even further.
[01:11:52] And we hope to hopefully open up Discord
[01:11:55] again sometime next week. Uh, so give us
[01:11:57] some time
[01:11:59] around that.
[01:12:01] So, again, I want to thank you all
[01:12:03] um,
[01:12:05] for joining this live session. I want to
[01:12:08] thank you for the folks that will
[01:12:09] actually watch this recording.
[01:12:12] Um, support us. We're doing our best.
[01:12:14] We're going to you you're going to learn
[01:12:16] so much. You're going to learn so much.
[01:12:18] And again, our goal here is to give you
[01:12:21] an opportunity beyond this.
[01:12:23] Um,
[01:12:24] AI is absolutely real. Uh, AI uh, for
[01:12:28] many folks is a threat. Uh, we just want
[01:12:31] to turn that into a
[01:12:33] uh, opportunity. So,
[01:12:35] we're going to go through some questions
[01:12:37] uh, here through the comments, maybe for
[01:12:39] about 5, 10 minutes. And then what we'll
[01:12:41] do is any questions that we don't
[01:12:43] answer, they will be added to the FAQs.
[01:12:49] So, ask away while I drink some water.
[01:12:55] Bosnia USA Bosnia today rooting for
[01:12:59] Bosnia.
[01:13:00] [laughter]
[01:13:16] Uh for the UI/UX experience, uh you
[01:13:19] don't need much. Again, if you have
[01:13:20] experience, great. Uh you'll get a
[01:13:22] different perspective, you know,
[01:13:24] UI and UX is very subjective, right? So,
[01:13:27] you'll
[01:13:28] uh you'll get a different perspective if
[01:13:30] you have experience, you'll get get a
[01:13:32] different exposure to how we do
[01:13:34] projects. For example, we do a lot of
[01:13:35] e-commerce projects, right? So, we talk
[01:13:37] when we talk about UI/UX, we also talk
[01:13:39] about conversion rate optimization, how
[01:13:40] to optimize, you know, so again, as a
[01:13:42] designer, it isn't just about, you know,
[01:13:45] making things look nice, it's about
[01:13:47] making things look functional, making
[01:13:49] making sure that you're good marketer.
[01:13:50] So, I think you're going to get a lot of
[01:13:51] different um uh uh
[01:13:54] experience and exposure. Uh yes, you can
[01:13:57] use GitHub for your projects. Uh I think
[01:13:59] that's the easiest way for for most of
[01:14:01] you. For others, you can might use like
[01:14:03] if you're on the marketing track, you
[01:14:04] might use a Google Doc document, we
[01:14:06] might use a
[01:14:07] uh Netlify or some of these other uh
[01:14:10] platforms. So, we'll align on some of
[01:14:12] that, but again, it's it's it's um
[01:14:14] pretty um
[01:14:16] um important. Is Flywire looking to
[01:14:18] retain engineers from the internship?
[01:14:21] The The simple answer is yes. Uh we hope
[01:14:24] we we hope that we can continue to grow
[01:14:26] like any other business. Um we we we
[01:14:29] need help today. Again, it's just a
[01:14:31] question of budget, growth, and other
[01:14:34] aspects. So, you know, everybody here
[01:14:35] has certainly an opportunity. Again, not
[01:14:37] making any promises, but it's something
[01:14:39] that I think is uh important. Um
[01:14:42] you can switch tracks, you can join Uh,
[01:14:45] so
[01:14:47] you'll have the AI fluency, everybody
[01:14:48] will do that track, and then you'll have
[01:14:50] the other track. So, you can do AI
[01:14:51] fluency and machine learning, AI
[01:14:53] fluency, and so forth. Uh, we might open
[01:14:55] up all the tracks to everybody. Again,
[01:14:57] we still haven't figured out a lot of
[01:14:58] things. You get to attend every session.
[01:15:00] So, if you if you're a designer and you
[01:15:02] want to uh, uh, you know, join a Mirza's
[01:15:05] or Hadis's um, sessions, you can
[01:15:08] absolutely do that. So, I think that's
[01:15:09] super, super,
[01:15:11] um, you know, important to have that
[01:15:12] type of exposure. And I I I encourage
[01:15:16] you to do that. Uh, because I think the
[01:15:17] most uh, as more and more people you get
[01:15:20] exposure to what's happening on the
[01:15:21] other side, I think you'll you'll
[01:15:23] realize how uh,
[01:15:25] you know, things work, and you can
[01:15:26] certainly become more um,
[01:15:28] impactful.
[01:15:30] Hadis is your back end track. Uh, yes,
[01:15:32] Hadis Hadzic. Uh, we call him Holeb.
[01:15:35] Um,
[01:15:38] the live calendar will be on the portal
[01:15:40] as well. You also have it in your Google
[01:15:42] calendar, your iCal. You can basically
[01:15:44] uh, download it.
[01:15:50] I'm a slow reader, so please
[01:15:56] Uh, we we Google Meets we can't do. We
[01:15:58] will do YouTube Lives because Google
[01:16:00] Meet has a uh, 100 people limit, I
[01:16:02] believe. Microsoft Teams is maybe like
[01:16:05] 250. We had the same issue with with our
[01:16:07] uh, previous companies, Hal cabs and uh,
[01:16:10] Shop Circle, we could have 250 folks,
[01:16:12] and we couldn't get everybody in there.
[01:16:14] Uh, maybe for some of the smaller
[01:16:15] session, absolutely.
[01:16:20] Discord, everybody will get an invite
[01:16:22] uh, through email, uh, and we'll most
[01:16:25] likely have a QR code that you can uh,
[01:16:27] join as well.
[01:16:30] Kithana, thank you so much. Really
[01:16:32] appreciate the support.
[01:16:35] The road map for ML track is coming on
[01:16:37] Monday. Mirza finished it. I want to
[01:16:39] review it. And again, this is super
[01:16:41] important. We don't just throw stuff out
[01:16:42] there. We want to make sure we're
[01:16:43] aligned. Uh but we're almost there. So,
[01:16:46] hopefully you'll see that uh Ahmad.
[01:16:51] Uh the teams The team will introduce
[01:16:53] themselves.
[01:16:54] Um
[01:16:55] maybe the team can come up uh after uh
[01:16:58] behind me and just wave, but uh
[01:17:01] certainly feel free to do that if you're
[01:17:02] watching the stream, but uh they will
[01:17:04] introduce themselves in their in the
[01:17:05] subsequent sessions as well. So, I I
[01:17:08] really uh look forward to for you guys
[01:17:10] to meet them.
[01:17:12] Uh the letter of recommendation you only
[01:17:14] get if you complete the program. Okay?
[01:17:16] So, again, you got a way in, and this is
[01:17:18] a super super important. We didn't pick
[01:17:20] one person, two people.
[01:17:22] Uh we picked um
[01:17:25] you know,
[01:17:26] everybody to get a chance, and uh you
[01:17:29] know, there they are. They're
[01:17:32] So,
[01:17:33] uh
[01:17:38] Yeah, the letter of recommendation you
[01:17:39] basically get when you complete the
[01:17:41] program. The certificate you get when
[01:17:43] you complete the program.
[01:17:45] So,
[01:17:46] there they are.
[01:17:49] Uh yes, back end uses Express. Um
[01:17:52] so, yeah.
[01:17:53] Uh should be okay.
[01:17:56] We have Again, we have a few different
[01:17:58] back ends, so um yeah. There's a few
[01:18:00] other things we do.
[01:18:02] Everybody loves Edin Ja'far. Uh he's
[01:18:04] absolutely
[01:18:06] uh amazing.
[01:18:09] Thank you, guys. You can join multiple
[01:18:11] tracks from AI and another track. We're
[01:18:13] going to figure out everything else.
[01:18:16] Uh again, the internship is self-paced.
[01:18:18] We're running it July and August on a
[01:18:21] 2-month cohort, but in again, you can
[01:18:23] finish it sooner. You can watch
[01:18:25] sessions. You don't have to. You can
[01:18:26] watch some of the recordings. If it
[01:18:28] takes you 6 months to finish it, finish
[01:18:30] it.
[01:18:31] Uh and I think that's such an important
[01:18:32] part. Even if you're busy with school,
[01:18:34] with work, with all the different
[01:18:35] things, with life. Life happens. Um
[01:18:39] it's so important to have that mindset
[01:18:41] to push uh through some of these uh
[01:18:44] things.
[01:18:47] Real projects with real people, that's
[01:18:50] what you're going to be working on. We
[01:18:52] want to use this as an opportunity to
[01:18:55] make
[01:18:57] to contribute. So, 100% again, please
[01:18:59] watch this video if if your English is
[01:19:01] not your first language and maybe I'm
[01:19:04] talking faster in certain parts, please
[01:19:07] watch it, go through the presentation
[01:19:09] which we will share uh as well and I
[01:19:11] think it'll answer most of your
[01:19:13] um questions.
[01:19:22] From Lebanon, do you believe this is a
[01:19:24] worldwide benefit? This is absolutely.
[01:19:26] Again, um AI
[01:19:28] knows no borders, it shouldn't know
[01:19:31] borders. We shouldn't be we're the same
[01:19:33] people, we come from different, you
[01:19:35] know, backgrounds and so forth, but at
[01:19:36] the end of the day, we all bleed the
[01:19:38] same blood. So, 100% this is for
[01:19:42] everybody and I think this is going to
[01:19:43] be
[01:19:44] 100 times bigger than any other
[01:19:47] internship program.
[01:19:55] Okay guys, again, a lot of questions. Uh
[01:19:58] I don't know if we're going to be able
[01:19:59] to answer all of these, but what we'll
[01:20:00] do is we'll take all this, we'll run it,
[01:20:03] we'll run it through the team. Uh we'll
[01:20:04] run it through all the questions that we
[01:20:06] already have cuz I see some of these
[01:20:07] questions are that. So, again, thank you
[01:20:10] so much. Welcome to Fly Rank, okay?
[01:20:13] Welcome to, I believe, a really unique
[01:20:16] experience that you'll get to ex-
[01:20:17] experience and once you're part of Fly
[01:20:19] Rank, you'll always be part of Fly Rank
[01:20:21] and we look forward to your contribution
[01:20:24] uh to this.
[01:20:25] Um again,
[01:20:28] Monday, portal opens.
[01:20:30] Uh Uh, events will be scheduled this
[01:20:32] week for next week and beyond. So,
[01:20:35] please keep an eye out on the calendar,
[01:20:37] the portal, and hopefully everything
[01:20:39] else will
[01:20:41] uh, will be absolutely clear.
[01:20:43] Thank you, everybody.
[01:20:44] And
[01:20:46] see you soon.
