[00:01] All right.
[00:02] So, Jimmy, give me a couple of words that describe Keith Davis.
[00:07] I the the word that really comes to my mind is is support.
[00:09] He has always been very supportive of the industry and especially to Wedgeworth.
[00:16] Um he's always been hope there with a helping hand when we needed it as far as getting materials in.
[00:26] Uh, one time that comes to mind where we had u a load of uh several containers of of uh boron held up at the port because it hadn't gone through customs and and uh Keith was able to get me material and keep us going.
[00:44] So that's the kind of support that I'm talking about.
[00:47] So you have worked in the industry with him for 30 years, 40 years at least.
[00:54] You know, uh I've been in the business for 45 years.
[00:58] So I I think he's
[01:01] been there since he was a young kid.
[01:04] It's a family-owned business.
[01:06] Over that time, you've seen the industry face a number of challenges.
[01:11] How was Keith as a leader in the industry and helping address some of those challenges?
[01:16] He's he's always been um helpful across the board with industry from the standpoint of always there a helping hand and um been a leader and in getting things settled out and and uh and and in the right going in the right direction.
[01:38] When it comes to being a competitor, how is Keith as a competitor?
[01:43] Uh, I would say Keith is a a good competitor.
[01:45] Um, from the standpoint we're all in it to make money and that's uh I think that Keith is going that same path as Wetro Assist.
[01:55] And then talking as a competitor, what kind of values do you see him instill in
[02:01] both company and others?
[02:09] I tell let me can I tell you something personal?
[02:11] Uh I'm you know Wedsworth is a member of independent a which uh his he has been involved in independent a way from way back and and and independent a goes back to the 60s and 70s with some very iconic people Florida industrial people.
[02:33] and I was on the board of directors and he came to me and asked me if I'd become chairman of the board of independent a.
[02:41] lo and behold told you know I'm thinking man me and uh he he instilled a lot of confidence in me by by asking me to do those things.
[02:53] That's great. That just is the kind of leadership he had that he helped other people.
[02:57] Oh yeah, certainly.
[02:59] So what about you know the industry has had its challenges. One of them was with
[03:03] ammonium nitrate.
[03:06] Um do you remember back to when we were working after 911 on the safety and security aspects?
[03:10] What kind of role did Keith and take to help steer because he was fertilizer committee chair then?
[03:15] Yes, he took a leadership role and and uh some of the things that that were proposed were out of the question like special you know having two drivers in a truck and and le and it had to be less than a certain percent nitrate to to be where it would not be hazmat.
[03:37] So he was a leader in in taking care of those type things.
[03:41] What about um how he approaches the business in terms of his personality?
[03:46] How would you describe his personality as a business competitor?
[03:50] I would say very friendly.
[03:53] I mean that's he was very personable and always been very friendly and um never talked down anybody.
[03:59] He's always there to help and again through independent a he is trying
[04:04] to do his best to help uh actually help his competitors buy better.
[04:13] That is perfect.
[04:13] Let me see.
[04:15] There was one other thing to ask you.
[04:18] Um was there a time that things went really right that that Keith could be responsible for or was there a time that things went really wrong and you saw Keith step up to the plate?
[04:30] Again, I refer back to having containers tied up uh and couldn't get materials, which was going very wrong for us, but he stepped up and was able to get the materials from a a different location to help us continue to go.
[04:44] And then when Keith sees this video, what's one thing you want to make sure he takes away from it?
[04:49] I am proud to be his friend.
[04:54] Mic drop.
[04:54] Very good.
[04:55] Okay.
[04:56] M. Uh-huh.
