[00:00] Hello you guys, you are now listening to

[00:02] 15mins Cafe on 15 men.

[00:08] Today 15

[00:22] minut that's right you guys you are now

[00:24] listening to John and

[00:26] Patrick and today we are going to be

[00:30] talking about drinks yes drinks you know

[00:35] summer times we have to eat and drink

[00:38] yes well Summer's been very very kind to

[00:41] me I gained 2

[00:45] kilograms yeah of course in

[00:49] taian oh yes so our bubble tea stores

[00:52] are very famous but I actually didn't

[00:54] gain weight from bubble tea oh and

[00:58] what's that I think I gained weight from

[01:00] Drinking all sorts of other drinks ah.

[01:04] And also iced latte, I think I drank too much milk ah.

[01:06] Yeah, yeah, that's my problem this time around.

[01:11] So I started dabbling my fingers in espresso.

[01:13] I bought a new espresso machine and I'm learning how to make espressos at home.

[01:18] And you know, sometimes I'm drinking espresso and then you feel like, oh, that's very hot and I want something to cool me down.

[01:26] And then I thought, okay, I'm going to start drinking iced lattes.

[01:29] And then I got hooked.

[01:32] And then I think I drank one cup too many iced lattes.

[01:34] Oh, as for me, you know, the things that gain my weight is tofu pudding.

[01:42] Yes, tofu pudding.

[01:47] And I just talked about tofu pudding the other day.

[01:51] Really?

[01:54] So what kind of flavor of tofu pudding would you like to choose?

[01:57] Um, in the last episode we talked about the different topics for tofu pudding.

[01:59] And for clim...

[02:02] She's on ja so J people do tofu pudding.

[02:05] On soy milk, so it's soy on soy, I call it soy on soy.

[02:09] And then for us here in Taipei, it's mostly either mung beans, red beans, or pearl barley, or, um, you know, the brown sugar soup.

[02:19] So personally for me, it's peanut, pearl barley, brown sugar soup.

[02:22] Yeah, so it's, you know, you got to go with the basic stuff, and then not too much of a fluff on top, you know, because you want something not very chewy.

[02:30] Um, not too much in the mouth, but at the same time, you don't want to miss the texture.

[02:35] So something soft, hard, and in between, I think, yeah, peanuts would be the best choice.

[02:44] Yes, so tofu pudding is also quite evil because of the sweetened brown sugar soup.

[02:49] I think, I think tofu itself is relatively healthy, yeah, but it's the sugar.

[02:58] Yes, for me, it's the lactose in the milk.

[03:00] And if you...

[03:03] Drink a lot of milk, there's also sugar in the milk.

[03:05] But that sugar is not white sugar or brown sugar.

[03:09] That sugar is called lactose.

[03:11] Oh, so it's like if you eat too many fruits, then fruits also contain a lot of sugar.

[03:18] So sugar from fruits are called fructose.

[03:24] Fructose, yeah, fructose, right.

[03:28] So if you over consume fructose, you also get chubby like me, yeah.

[03:31] A lot of fruits are getting sweeter recent years, right, like grapes.

[03:37] Oh, all fruits in Taiwan are sweet.

[03:41] People don't sell fruits that are not sweet in Taiwan.

[03:44] That's not the way we do it, yes.

[03:47] So summertime, when we talk about drinks, we have to talk about drinks that can make us healthy.

[03:52] Why? Because we are very unhealthy, like me.

[03:55] I gain 2 kilograms.

[03:58] So for healthy drink, what is a healthy drink for us here in Taiwan, Patrick?

[04:03] M, there's a lot of stuff, right.

[04:09] So I don't know if like white fungus.

[04:13] Yeah, do you like this kind of stuff very healthy?

[04:15] Um, but again if it's without sugar, then I don't know what I'm eating.

[04:21] Oh yeah, so again we can't do without sugar.

[04:24] We got to have a little bit of sugar.

[04:25] Yeah, the same as the vanger, right?

[04:29] The Ping two or something?

[04:32] Oh, apple cider, right?

[04:34] Apple vinegar, yes, yeah, vinegar is totally the same.

[04:37] But there's one more thing that some people will have to, you know, make our stomach kind of rolling.

[04:48] There's ah, yeah, that's right, the stuff.

[04:51] Yes, so in Taiwan culturally, where do we see them the most?

[04:54] Together with your lunchbox and these drinks, you grow up with them.

[04:56] At the wet markets, you know, the traditional market.

[05:02] You know your mom would buy you one and shut you up.

[05:11] Yeah, you know you want me to take her to the convenience store, but this things that she can't drink right, chocolate milk or juice? No, no, no.

[05:20] Yes, my sister said just buy her one y coat and she'll shut up.

[05:23] That's the Taiwan way, right?

[05:26] Yeah.

[05:30] Okay, so at one point in time, I don't know when or how, our traditional lunch boxes, you know, your your your set meals, your your set lunch boxes, your Pento boxes, let's call it, okay?

[05:44] I think in Japan you can call it Bento, Bento boxes.

[05:46] They come with El cult, I don't know who designed it that way, but it seems like, oh, it's good for you because some Pento, um, after having a full size Pento box, um, a cup of yakult is is good for you, yeah.

[06:01] And who exactly designed it that way?

[06:04] Nobody knows, but it seems like that's how the word spread, people people said that, and your mom sort of one day said that, but nobody really checked it up.

[06:14] Right back in the old days, nobody had Wikipedia, so we didn't check it up and say, "Is that true or not?"

[06:20] And so today, I think you have to tell us a little bit about the truth.

[06:26] What is exactly the truth? Is it healthy or is it not?

[06:28] Oh, okay, so we're going to talk about yo.

[06:33] Right, because yes, talking about the B culture in Taiwan, but not exactly every bottle is yako.

[06:52] Right company, right yeah, these companies we start mimicking them.

[06:59] So, uh, to name one, I remember — do you, I don't know if you know this — I think I was a kid, and then there was Y and sha.

[07:08] Yes, yes, I know this one.

[07:12] I didn't understand it; I really didn't understand it.

[07:04] I was.

[07:15] Like and then I got Ywa and I'm like are you kidding me that that's not it that's not it and it's t it tastes it's also milky like it looks like Yakult the the bottle looks like Yakult but it tastes totally different and I'm like are you kidding me that's not the real thing so we got the knockoffs right yes and then we got the competitor the direct competitor M yeah that's also still available in 7-Eleven today yeah the do do yeah it's from the competitor yeah yes so you know what I grew up with Yakult Y and then the year that I first came back to visit Taiwan again people started drinking Toto and then I'm like what happened to people what's wrong and and I for some odd reason people ask me hey and I'm like what exactly is that I assumed it was and then I realized Doo is a another product very similar to

[08:17] Young ad and if you drink it it's like Pepsi and Coke right some people like Pepsi some people like Coke yeah yeah.

[08:25] But there is a distinguishable difference.

[08:27] M yes not only in the flavor because dor comes in a bigger bottle yes and then you're like since when is yor that tiny right on the shelves and you you see it on the shelves and you think to yourself for the same price I want the bigger bottle right.

[08:46] And so I was confused I was I was like since when do people think dor is better than yor but and then you start drinking both and you're like oh it's like Pepsi and Coke you can't really tell the difference.

[08:57] M yeah so you go for the bigger bottle yeah more more cpg you know back to the you just want the bigger one right the bigger one for the same amount of money and and so uh back in my day back in my day if I remember it correctly yo was five bucks oh five bucks that's how old I am my age five.

[09:19] Bucks like eight bucks, yes, yeah, and then

[09:22] It went up to 12 recently, yeah.

[09:25] The blue one, right about five six years ago, they went up to 12, yes, 10, $10, $12.

[09:32] Yes, and then I was like, wow, you know, it took them 20, 30 years to, you know, hike the price.

[09:39] So okay, I get that, but I was the $5 kid.

[09:43] Oh $5, I don't think I'm that time, you know, I'm in like $8.

[09:50] No, but it stayed $8 for a long time though.

[09:52] I even can't remember when did they, you know, lie up the price to $10.

[09:59] I almost forgot that we probably can find it somewhere, but I don't think people want to know.

[10:05] People don't want to know.

[10:07] So take it away, Patrick, and tell us why this Japanese company eventually came to Taiwan and start brainwashing us.

[10:15] Yeah, it is really a brainwashing, you know, every child they think about Yak.

[10:20] Cat as a drink right, so we're going to talk about this big OG in R in part.

[10:26] Right, okay, Yak Cod is almost 90 years old next year, the brand is 90 years old.

[10:33] 0 years old, very very old brand, really OG right.

[10:41] So let's talk about his founder, or maybe we'll say the one who invent the bacteria inside the yod.

[10:53] So if you buy yod, you'll see on his bottle there's a special name of the bacteria.

[11:03] Called really, yeah, that's the most important is the iconic stuff inside the Y.

[11:23] Code no way, yeah that's the.

[11:29] No way, I thought it was just a difference in taste.

[11:35] I don't, I, I think that's the things that they, they put it on the copy way.

[11:42] Oh okay, so the Founder's name in English is Mr, oh sorry, not Mister, Dr. Minoru Shirota.

[11:48] Oh, Minoru Shirota, okay, yeah, Minoru Shirota, he's a microbiologist, yes.

[11:56] But I, I, I didn't know that the germ or the bacteria was named.

[12:00] Okay, calling bacteria a germ is is kind of correct and not correct.

[12:05] So guys, forgive me, I'm not a science guru.

[12:08] You got you science nerds, you tell me.

[12:10] You know, for me, a bacteria can be a germ and a germ it can be a bacteria, so it's vice versa.

[12:18] I'm a, I'm a normal guy, you know, I only had high school biology.

[12:20] But anyways, so um, this bacteria.

[12:26] that he found that came from the fermentation process of something right

[12:29] he cultivated and and and this bacteria

[12:34] apparently is um of benefit to the human body

[12:38] yes right but although you said in Chinese it's named after Dr minoru shirota

[12:45] but technically this bacteria is not named in such a way

[12:51] but there is there is a strain this this strain of bacteria was named by is called The shirota Strain

[13:01] but the bacteria itself is not shirota bacteria

[13:04] oh that's the difference the strain is shirota because he founded it

[13:09] yes he can name it himself

[13:13] yes so this bacteria is called lacto bacillus KC strain shirota

[13:17] oh that's a hard one

[13:21] so lacto bacillus is that main bacteria and

[13:27] The strain is Shirota, oh.

[13:31] Oh yes, so that's the strain that he found.

[13:34] But this bacteria existed already.

[13:37] Okay, let me patch in his kind of Chinese name.

[13:45] I just don't know what exactly I'm saying.

[13:50] Heck, okay.

[13:53] So I think everyone will kind of wonder why will he...

[13:57] Just that is because why sell it as a drink?

[13:59] Why not make it into like an injection, sell it in the hospital, or like a pill or something you just swallow it or something like that?

[14:07] But the thing is that he do this is because we have to go back to the history part.

[14:18] Make somebody feel like stomach the flu, right?

[14:21] Trying not be okay, okay, yeah.

[14:25] Just so a lot of gastric issues, so.

[14:28] People stomach issues, maybe uh, allergies reactions.

[14:34] So again food safety issue, right?

[14:39] If food is not clean, if general hygiene is a big issue, then what do you do?

[14:42] And when was this?

[14:45] This is what, like 1920s something, the times, right?

[14:49] Old days, okay.

[15:16] You know that when everyone eats something, they get stomach.

[15:19] You want them to swallow a peel or try something new?

[15:23] Kind of be afraid of it.

[15:26] Oh, that doesn't make sense, M, because...

[15:30] If you think about it in the 1930s and the 40s or the 50s, think about it, people access to medicine is very expensive, it's very hard to access medicine, yeah.

[15:43] So the only way to really distribute it, make it popular amongst people, is to turn it into something they understand, yes.

[15:51] And that could be like a drink, a candy, or, you know, or an additive to any food.

[15:59] So this does make sense if you want to sell something, right?

[16:04] If you want to promote the thing, of course the easiest way is to go about it in the most fundamental way, which is, you know, let people use it every day, yeah.

[16:16] So that's how he kind of create Yak code.

[16:19] So we know the history part of Yak code, but when did Le came to Taiwan, right?

[16:25] This time is like, uh, 1964, 30 years over.

[16:41] Their y okay.

[16:47] Sense O Okay interesting interesting so.

[16:52] I wonder if John have you ever seen a a woman or a lady riding a bicycle on the Street and they have a back box that say that write yak coat on the street when I permanently moved back to Taiwan one day near my client's office I was like huh who's selling something off their bicycle so I see a lady selling something off her bicycle and I see people buying stuff from her and I'm like this is so 20th century you know what I mean like today in taipe we should buy online or we should buy at convenience stores or we get things delivered but no this is Lady selling stuff of her bicycle and then I approached her and I said hey um what are you selling and she's like oh I got.

[17:42] You know yogurt? I got Yakult.

[17:44] What do you want?

[17:47] And then I'm like, huh, how does this work?

[17:49] And then I realized she was wearing a Yuck Cult t-shirt.

[17:52] Ah yes, a Yuck Cult polo shirt, you know?

[17:54] So I was like, this is your cult?

[17:58] Are you kidding me?

[18:02] I've heard of the, you know, the Milkman in the morning, right?

[18:04] The guy who rides the bicycle and delivers milk to your doorstep, yes.

[18:08] And this Yuck Lady was the first time that I saw this.

[18:11] And then that's when I first knew about this model.

[18:14] Like people can actually become a distributor of Yakult drinks or Yakult products, yes.

[18:23] So this is the so-called Yakult Ladies.

[18:28] Oh yeah, Mama So Yakult Mama, yeah.

[18:31] Okay, yeah, did you buy that time the first time you saw them?

[18:33] I did, I did.

[18:35] It was very nice.

[18:38] It was, you know, I was surprised.

[18:41] It's just I didn't expect to see, I didn't expect to see a Yakult Lady on the streets because it...

[18:44] It's very backwards, you know, when I grew up in South Africa, ice cream guys sold ice cream off their bicycles, just like that.

[18:47] Oh, okay.

[18:51] And then we had snack guys, we had, you know, all sorts of different people, you know, selling these little odd things off their bicycles.

[19:02] I understand that.

[19:05] But in Taiwan, it's how modern are we in Taipei, and we still have these ladies riding bicycles.

[19:11] Yeah, I would expect by now GoGo or something, but, you know, bicycle, come on.

[19:16] But the truth is that, uh, when I was still in Taipei, renting in like Andan, that nearby the time I sold twice, and there's very near my company.

[19:31] Sometimes in the noon, during the noon time, when everyone goes out to buy lunch, they will ride a bicycle and stand, I think, in front of the McDonald's.

[19:40] They will, a smart move, yeah.

[19:43] A lot of guys will buy, that's a smart move.

[19:46] Because if you stand nearby Pento restaurants, then you're at the wrong place right?

[19:53] Because people get their pantos together with yakult or whatever drinks they get.

[19:58] So if you stand in front of McDonald's, kind of makes sense, kind of makes sense.

[20:01] And then if you stand in front of like a Fried Chicken store, that kind of works too.

[20:06] Ramen store, Fried Chicken store, that would kind of work.

[20:11] So yako ladies are still a thing in Taipei.

[20:15] Maybe, maybe it will turn into — give it, give them another 30, 40 years, it will become cultural heritage, right?

[20:22] Maybe yeah, it'll be like a cultural heritage thing.

[20:26] We will celebrate it because it's part of our childhoods of so many generations.

[20:29] In fact, it's almost like 60 years of yakob ladies, their team, right?

[20:34] The marketing team, yeah yeah.

[20:37] You know, we miss them because, you know, we used to ignore them or take them for granted.

[20:42] Now that we deliver everything to door, you feel like, uh, it's kind of weird, right?

[20:46] You sometimes at the busy corner, uh, busy.

[20:49] street corners you see a yuckle lady and

[20:51] you're like oh this is nice you know I

[20:53] can walk and drink yeah and the truth is

[20:55] that yak Cod ladies are very quite

[20:58] professional

[20:59] and they got a very nice and positive

[21:01] Sal image

[21:05] right I had a experience that because I

[21:09] I made I created episode of yak cod's

[21:12] Brand Story in my own podcast about

[21:14] suang and the time is the first time I

[21:18] got covid and I'm got P pandemic so when

[21:21] I'm got my recovery and come out to the

[21:24] street you know

[21:28] I forgot how many days but the first

[21:30] time when I come out to Street and I saw

[21:33] Yak cold lady she's the first guy and

[21:36] she's the first woman that I talk to

[21:38] when I'm recovered so I'm very eager to

[21:42] talk to someone you know I want to buy

[21:44] something from her so and I asked her

[21:47] because after I finished making the

[21:49] episode of yako then I asked her and do

[21:52] you

[21:57] sell I asked her about this product so

[22:00] I'm I wonder did she have this this new

[22:03] one but she answered me a very

[22:05] professional way say she said no Taiwan

[22:09] doesn't have Yak code a thousand if you

[22:11] have to buy it you have to go to Japan

[22:13] so yeah so so they're very very uh very

[22:17] knowledgeable about their products they

[22:19] know what's also available in Japan

[22:21] what's not available in Taiwan yes and

[22:23] that could be the the licensing right of

[22:27] that bacteria you know if you if you or

[22:29] licensing of the uh manufacturing

[22:32] process if you don't get license you

[22:34] can't make it so

[22:35] sorry all right so let me quickly uh

[22:39] pitch in and just give everybody the uh

[22:43] English version of the expansion to

[22:45] Taiwan okay here I got some numbers uh

[22:48] 1960s and70s because yakal achieved

[22:52] success in Japan so they began to expand

[22:54] internationally and Taiwan was their

[22:56] first one of the early inter markets so

[22:59] they came here and it was the expansion

[23:03] strategy and also the yakult strategy to

[23:06] bring health benefits of probiotics to a

[23:09] broader audience because they realized

[23:12] the name the idea yoga drink yogurt this

[23:15] yogurt that is a dairy fermented product

[23:20] right it's a dairy product that you you

[23:22] ferment and then from the dairy product

[23:25] you know the Mediterranean people Greek

[23:27] uh uh yogurt and Europeans they know

[23:30] yogurt already but in the East we have

[23:32] no yogurt because dairy products are

[23:34] expensive milk is super expensive so

[23:37] what do we do we've got probiotic

[23:40] products and so Taiwan uniquely we don't

[23:43] have a lot of dairy so what do they do

[23:45] they they are able to cultivate right

[23:48] yakult The Strain shirota right they're

[23:52] able to cultivate that and then put it

[23:54] in a drink yes so this was our first

[23:57] forray in into

[24:01] probiotics so this probiotic drink

[24:03] concept is is technically like Patrick

[24:07] you said it's not new but today

[24:09] probiotics it's more like a supplement

[24:11] right it's in a pill it's very highly

[24:14] concentrated so yakal doesn't do much

[24:17] right there's there's more drink to the

[24:20] probiotics if you want real probiotic

[24:23] today you want concentrated pills today

[24:25] but you can't take concentrated pills on

[24:27] a daily basis that's just too much and

[24:30] also very expensive so what do we do he

[24:33] lowered the barrier of Entry to kids and

[24:36] family yeah so yakal drink is still

[24:38] popular today for that reason if you

[24:40] can't afford expensive concentrated

[24:43] probiotic pills you go for yakult the

[24:45] yakult 1,000 yakult 300 whatever you can

[24:48] get it's all good H yeah so in the 70s

[24:52] and 80s yako then invested in Taiwan

[24:55] local production facilities to ensure

[24:57] the freshness quality of the product yes

[25:00] and that's when they came in full

[25:03] force and then yuot ladies you know like

[25:07] what Patrick mentioned earlier yuot

[25:09] ladies uh the door-to-door sales method

[25:11] the marketing yuot ladies started to

[25:13] work and it helped build a loyal

[25:17] customer base but most importantly it is

[25:19] through the yak ladies consistent and

[25:23] persistent marketing of probiotics

[25:27] gastrointestinal health so that's where

[25:30] my mom heard it and your mom heard it

[25:32] right these yult ladies doing The Talk

[25:36] The probiotics talk it's good for the

[25:39] kid's stomach M yeah yes if your kids

[25:43] have constipation or you know they they

[25:46] have gastrointestinal issues drink

[25:49] yakult it's good for them oh yeah and

[25:52] the yakult ladies served as health

[25:55] education promoters

[25:58] yeah and then the the the idea of this

[26:01] part spread into the school and all the

[26:04] school started have lunch box and Yak

[26:06] code

[26:08] yeah and then when kids graduate into

[26:13] junior high Junior High graduate into uh

[26:16] high school and then High School into

[26:17] college and when you start working you

[26:19] are looking for yako yeah exactly that's

[26:22] what totally the yako th000 came out and

[26:25] all the Japanese kind of want to buy

[26:27] yako thousand because let's say they can

[26:30] treat their stomach better and and make

[26:33] good sleeping times or something yes it

[26:36] helps with sleep apparently but if you

[26:38] think about it if tomorrow they come up

[26:41] with yakal 3000 people would buy it

[26:43] anyway no I don't think so you know

[26:46] 10,000 10,000 will have a

[26:48] diarrhea that's too dangerous no so I

[26:52] mean what they could add all sorts of

[26:54] stuff to it you know to make it

[26:56] beneficial they just have to stay in the

[26:59] lane of being healthy ah yeah so it's a

[27:03] small drink it's like a healthy espresso

[27:07] oh for your stomach I thought of healthy

[27:10] espresso drink is like Red Bull or

[27:12] something but the truth is that's energy

[27:15] drink that's for energy no problem

[27:18] that's Red Bull but what if for what if

[27:21] it's categorized as like a health drink

[27:24] ah okay very different right but the

[27:28] again most healthy drinks are priced at

[27:32] a very high price

[27:34] point yeah uh-uh I'm keeping the volume

[27:38] small I'm keeping the bottle small and

[27:40] I'm going to keep the price as low as

[27:43] possible yeah that's very smart so

[27:45] that's why nobody can beat yuck even

[27:48] door door think about it door door is

[27:51] bigger volume a bigger bottle but if you

[27:55] look at the product itself right we

[27:57] don't we have no idea whether it's a

[28:00] healthier drink or not but young always

[28:02] says oh I'm super healthy I've got 300

[28:05] I've got a th000 I've got 10,000 I got

[28:07] 5,000 you know so they still maintain

[28:10] that healthy image I'm improving my

[28:12] product but do is like I'm a children's

[28:14] drink oh yes and for some reason for

[28:18] what reason we don't know anyways so uh

[28:21] you know for us again the marketing

[28:23] works sometimes and the product power

[28:26] works sometimes so the rest is history

[28:29] we still drink this today and we still

[28:31] think and talk

[28:33] about yeah and so this is part of our

[28:38] culture and history already this just

[28:40] amazing yeah now when Patrick is in the

[28:44] house guys you know we're going to talk

[28:46] about slogans oh yeah because Patrick

[28:49] all day never mentioned slogans oh yeah

[28:51] and actually I don't recall listening or

[28:54] hearing to any slogans before yeah yeah

[28:58] the true do they have slogans I kind of

[29:00] search on the Google but I don't know I

[29:03] think they they kind of separate in

[29:05] different countries maybe some of the

[29:07] countries have their slogans of yak Cod

[29:10] so I found two like English versions

[29:13] logo a slogan uh the first one I I

[29:16] really like this one they say good

[29:18] health begins inside good health begins

[29:22] inside yeah inside your stomach inside

[29:24] your body right the the idea so this is

[29:28] perfect slogan for moms oh yeah good

[29:30] health begins inside yeah so your kids

[29:33] in diapers you know having stomach

[29:35] problems you don't want that so good

[29:38] health begins Inside Yes it makes sense

[29:41] I think this is a a very big seller to

[29:44] moms good for me I think moms would go

[29:47] crazy for this any other slogans or

[29:50] marketing lines okay uh another one I

[29:54] think that kind of referred to the the

[29:57] founder that

[29:59] because Dr Shir yeah the Shir the way

[30:03] the time he create this this yako stuff

[30:07] is because that he wants everyone to be

[30:10] healthy without having stomach so the

[30:13] slogan this one this version is called

[30:16] bringing good health to all bringing

[30:19] good health to all wow Visionary sounds

[30:23] like

[30:24] wh health for all right Health but this

[30:27] is bringing good Health to all people

[30:29] yes that makes sense that's like the

[30:32] motto or the core value of this product

[30:35] yes okay but now my question is okay

[30:39] Patrick do you feel that yakult is

[30:41] actually healthy or not do you really

[30:43] care I don't really care but you know

[30:47] when when I'm in childhood when I'm in

[30:49] childhood I don't care about the

[30:50] healthiness I don't care about how how

[30:52] healthy he would give me anything the

[30:55] things that I like is because of his

[30:57] taste it's very very sweet you know kids

[31:00] like sweet yes yeah so technically in my

[31:04] view really what exactly are we doing

[31:07] here with yakult is really good for your

[31:09] stomach or not I can't really tell but

[31:12] there's one thing for sure my wife

[31:15] whenever she feels a little you know

[31:17] bloated or constipated she will think

[31:19] about yakult that's how powerful yakult

[31:22] is and does it work I guess it kind of

[31:25] works but to me wouldn't a higher

[31:29] concentration yakult work better I mean

[31:31] I that's why at my house we always have

[31:34] yakal 300 oh we assume that 300 meaning

[31:38] more okay isn't that a psychological

[31:42] effect maybe it's a psychological thing

[31:45] I don't know but again the original red

[31:48] bottle is a little too sweet for my

[31:52] liking now for my taste right now it's a

[31:54] little too sweet so I usually buy those

[31:57] and I add it in let's say my tea or

[32:00] something I make a green tea door out of

[32:03] it yeah okay and or or black tea Doo out

[32:07] of it you know just to add to the flavor

[32:09] you can sort of DIY at home you don't

[32:11] have to go to the bubble tea stores yeah

[32:13] um but the blue ones are our favorites

[32:16] we stick to the blue ones okay talking

[32:18] about the products there's a new one I

[32:21] don't know if John notice like two

[32:23] months ago or three months ago I found a

[32:26] new kind of package a new design bottle

[32:30] of Y coat in

[32:35] pxm a totally different kind of a bigger

[32:38] bottle of yak coat and also red one but

[32:41] a dark yeah a dark color of red and the

[32:45] bottle looks different though yeah this

[32:47] look different but and I I bought I more

[32:50] like a milk bottle now yeah and like a

[32:52] milk can yeah bigger one it's like the

[32:57] size it's similar to and I bought them

[33:00] to drink okay and uh The Taste is more

[33:04] sour even sour more sour than the blue

[33:07] one so if you think if you also think

[33:10] the blue one are too sweet to you maybe

[33:12] you can try the new one okay but when

[33:15] you say sour do you mean sour in a good

[33:18] way or or sour like yuck it's not I

[33:23] think a a little bit sour but not so

[33:26] yucky you know okay so more on the

[33:29] yogurt side right more yogurt flavored

[33:31] less drink like M yes and how much uh

[33:36] one I think1 15 or

[33:39] $16 for a bottle a bottle 15 NT 16 NT

[33:43] for a bigger bottle okay still

[33:46] competitive still accessible I think but

[33:49] would you drink it like I would always

[33:51] drink the smaller bottles in one go it's

[33:54] like that's my yakult shot you know

[33:58] I don't usually you know take little

[34:00] sips I I just down it okay so this big a

[34:03] bottle do you think you can down it I

[34:05] used to down it like you the way you

[34:07] done to other blue one or red but but

[34:10] the this one because I mentioned that is

[34:12] more sour so I think I will stop it in

[34:14] the

[34:15] middle all right so you know what I'm

[34:18] definitely going to see if the Yule

[34:19] ladies on the street have this I I am

[34:22] curious if they also carry this in their

[34:25] stock I will go buy one and I'll let you

[34:27] know I give you feedback on this so guys

[34:30] if you are listening to this episode

[34:31] right now and you you access uh to

[34:34] pxmart nearby go run to the store now

[34:37] and see if you can get hold of this have

[34:39] a sip and comment down below using the

[34:41] comment link and tell us whether you

[34:43] think this will replace your childhood D

[34:46] or Yang flavors if you think this is

[34:49] going to be the next yakal killer let us

[34:52] know okay and we will take a poll

[34:59] okay different generations to give a

[35:01] poll right and then maybe we can send it

[35:03] to yak and say here's our

[35:07] poll thumbs up or thumbs down I think ad

[35:11] will give the new one a thumb up thumbs

[35:14] up you think yeah because a lot of

[35:16] people when they grow up they don't like

[35:18] so sweet so maybe this one will get

[35:21] there okay okay and you know what I'm

[35:23] going to buy a few and I'm going to see

[35:25] you know how my wife responds to it as

[35:27] well oh okay yeah because you know

[35:30] ladies they they get tend to get bloated

[35:33] a lot so if they get bloated they take a

[35:36] drink and if it's more effective than

[35:38] Doo or uh Yang 300 we moving on

[35:43] ahead okay yeah so guys thank you that's

[35:47] all the time we got for you today and

[35:50] just like we said go and try the new

[35:52] products out and leave us a comment down

[35:54] below and we love all your messages

[35:56] thank you and keep them coming we love

[35:59] hearing from you and we want to hear

[36:01] your opinions as well so we can share it

[36:03] with the rest of the 15 minutes family

[36:05] so until next time you guys that's 15

[36:09] min Cafe today with John and Patrick we

[36:12] will see you in the next episode bye-bye

[36:15] bye-bye
