# Anne Hathaway & Emily Blunt NEVER Let Interviews Go As Planned

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QnigQYl3myo

[00:00] Staying professional is the standard in Hollywood.
[00:01] Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt have always had a very different agenda,
[00:04] and the people around them have never quite recovered.
[00:06] These are the moments that prove nobody has zero filter quite like these two.
[00:09] I bet Anne Hathaway has a weird vagina.
[00:12] Well, you'll never know.
[00:17] Rusty Dylan, who's most likely to be caught napping between takes?
[00:19] Actually, it's usually me during Dwayne's close-up.
[00:23] [laughter]
[00:26] Oh, that was good.
[00:28] Is that right?
[00:28] Yeah.
[00:28] Yeah.
[00:28] Is that how we're going to play?
[00:30] That's the game we're going to play.
[00:31] Okay, here we go.
[00:32] But the rock firing back was never a question of if.
[00:34] It was always just a matter of when.
[00:37] Who's most likely to survive a real life Jungle Cruise adventure?
[00:39] That would be new.
[00:41] Because you have more fat on you.
[00:42] Okay.
[00:45] So, you'd last longer.
[00:46] And you have rupes.
[00:48] [laughter]
[00:48] Look at everybody's head pop up.
[00:50] What?
[00:50] Do you have nicknames for each other?
[00:52] Yes.
[00:53] Don't get Do a nice one.
[00:55] Oily.
[00:57] What the
[00:59] [laughter]
[01:01] Matthew McConna is one of those celebrities who was born to be imitated.
[01:05] So, of course, Hatheraway had her impression locked and loaded and it didn't disappoint.
[01:09] Do you find yourself becoming part of his orbit?
[01:12] Because it seems like I've been around him a few times and everybody just kind of does what he's up to.
[01:18] Absolutely.
[01:18] Totally.
[01:20] Like all of a sudden you're with him and all of a sudden you find yourself kind of like leaning back.
[01:22] You lean back, you talk.
[01:25] You know, you maybe don't enunciate as much, but sometimes you do.
[01:28] You enunciate intentionally.
[01:31] But Emily wasn't about to let Anne have all the fun because, as it turns out, she had her own version ready to go.
[01:37] I was doing the best I could not to stand next to McConna in that courtroom and go, I'll rise.
[01:40] I'll rise.
[01:42] I'll rise.
[01:47] What does DQ stand for?
[01:52] Someone's motioning something sexual to me over there.
[01:57] He was like this.
[02:03] Not everyone walks into an interview prepared for every outcome.
[02:06] This journalist walked in completely unprepared for Emily Blunt and it showed almost instantly.
[02:11] I mean, did you get? You must have really got. I know you're always in shape.
[02:14] You're, you, I don't know.
[02:15] Look, you got to dare you.
[02:18] But did you see that?
[02:18] He went, you, you're always it, you as a lot of action movies, and you know, Emily, you're always a bit.
[02:25] And while some actresses might let it slide, Anne Hathaway has never believed in keeping quiet either.
[02:30] It was a couple days ago we finally saw the first photos of you as Catwoman.
[02:35] How do you fit into that suit?
[02:39] It takes three of us.
[02:43] A lot of lead time.
[02:45] But you're in phenomenal shape right now.
[02:47] Bench kicks, I don't know.
[02:49] How much weight have you lost to get into this shape right now?
[02:53] You did not just ask me that question.
[02:55] I'm just saying you're like, what a forward young man you are.
[02:59] My goodness, how much weight?
[03:02] I'm not saying you needed to lose.
[03:04] Weight.
[03:05] I'm just saying that you look.
[03:07] I've, I've worked very hard to become Selena Kyle.
[03:10] What's green and smells like pork?
[03:12] Why is it something gross?
[03:15] It's like — no, it's not.
[03:16] Climate's penis or something.
[03:19] Oh, Jesus.
[03:19] No.
[03:19] Good though.
[03:21] Kermit's finger.
[03:24] But it was close.
[03:26] That was crazy.
[03:26] You would go there.
[03:29] Jesus.
[03:30] Kermit's penis.
[03:35] Okay.
[03:35] We were filming Batman.
[03:36] And there was this one day we were filming in central London and Christian was walking to set.
[03:40] And there were these two boys and they're sitting there and they're staring at him and one of them goes, "Oi, you Batman."
[03:48] And the other one goes, "No, he's not Batman.
[03:50] Look at his teeth."
[03:53] Working with kids as Mary Poppins must have been a dream for Emily, right?
[03:57] Well, turns out one kid on that set had very different plans for her.
[04:01] Those kids are adorable.
[04:02] Oh, that's so sweet.
[04:02] Kids with English.
[04:04] Accents are so much cuter than regular kids.
[04:06] Do you think?
[04:07] Yes.
[04:07] I love it.
[04:08] Yeah, that little blonde one.
[04:08] He's wild.
[04:10] Oh, the little one is adorable.
[04:10] Yeah, he's so sweet.
[04:12] He was...
[04:13] What's his name?
[04:13] He's called Joel.
[04:14] Okay.
[04:15] And there was a lot of kind of Joel wrangling on script [laughter] on on on set because he was sort of crazy and had never done a film before.
[04:23] And then before I had this mammoth monologue, I remember like really fast-paced monologue.
[04:27] I was just trying to focus for a second.
[04:28] They were like, "Okay, rolling, rolling."
[04:32] And Joel would be like, "Emily, what do you get if you put the letter B in front of the word oobs?"
[04:37] And I was like, [laughter]
[04:41] Emily Blunt's got a pretty mouth that I'd like to poop in.
[04:49] You at one time almost leapt into the world of pop music and became a pop star.
[04:56] I could have been Britney.
[04:57] You could have been Britney.
[05:00] What happened?
[05:00] Why weren't you?
[05:01] Why aren't you?
[05:01] Because I realized that I'm not good at dancing and I didn't want to be Britney.
[05:05] I don't know.
[05:07] I think I — who approached you and tried to get your advice?
[05:09] I don't want to tell you too much because I feel like someone's going to find these songs that I recorded.
[05:12] Oh, you have songs.
[05:15] Do you want to know the name of one of them?
[05:17] Yes, very much.
[05:18] Ring it up.
[05:21] Turns out Emily's dream of being Britney Spears was never quite hers to claim.
[05:25] And Haway is the reason why.
[05:27] And Hway, you also do an impression.
[05:30] I do Britney Spears.
[05:32] This is an oldie but a goodie.
[05:38] How was I supposed to baby?
[05:56] But as much as she loves to sing, not everyone under her roof has been quite as supportive of that passion.
[06:01] Anne Hway, uh, you've also produced something since last year.
[06:03] A human.
[06:05] Being.
[06:06] Yes.
[06:06] Uh, yes.
[06:10] [applause]
[06:12] Uh, a Jonath Jonathan Jonathan.
[06:15] And he's three now.
[06:18] Three.
[06:18] And I'm sure he's delightful.
[06:20] I'm sure you have a lovely relationship.
[06:22] But he apparent — is this true that he doesn't like you to sing at all?
[06:25] He does not.
[06:27] He does not like my singing voice in this life.
[06:27] Like how does he react to you singing?
[06:29] Um, well, like sometimes like he's very calm and I'm like okay this is it.
[06:33] This is the moment.
[06:34] And so I'll maybe start to sing a song that I know he likes and he goes mama mama no [laughter] mama no.
[06:43] And then like I give it a minute and he goes mama mama mama mama no.
[06:47] Is your kids getting your accent or are they getting your husband's accent?
[06:49] Well, Hazel had my accent for a really long time and would say things like water which I was really proud of.
[06:55] And then the other day she goes, "Can I have some water?"
[07:00] And I went, "It's water."
[07:02] And she was like, "No, it's water."
[07:06] Like, "No."
[07:08] Emily has always brought everything she has to every performance.
[07:11] And as it turns out, that also includes the ones that happen completely off script.
[07:15] We were filming in this really remote uh little town called Tibido.
[07:19] So, we went out for dinner at this at Chili's, I think, was the only restaurant available.
[07:23] Chili's amazing.
[07:23] You've been to Chili?
[07:24] And she comes up and she goes, "Did anyone ever tell you you look a lot like Emily Blunt?"
[07:30] And I said, "I have heard that."
[07:32] Yes.
[07:32] [laughter]
[07:35] And she went, "Are you Emily Blunt?"
[07:37] And I went, "Yeah."
[07:40] And she went, "WHAT ARE Y'ALL DOING HERE?"
[07:40] [laughter]
[07:42] And then she was like, "Are y'all shooting a movie here?"
[07:46] And I said, "Yeah, I'm shooting a film called Looper."
[07:49] And she went, "Looper?"
[07:51] And I went, "Yeah."
[07:52] And she went, "Y'all just made that up."
[07:56] We've got a picture of Hazel.
[07:57] That as a mother that must be so nice to have 600 people go.
[08:00] Was it the nurse that was very complimentary when she...
[08:02] Yeah, she was funny.
[08:03] We were in the recovery room afterwards and we had this amazing nurse who came in and she looked...
[08:08] At she goes, "Damn, your baby is so cute."
[08:13] [laughter]
[08:13] And I went I went, "Oh, really?"
[08:15] She went, "She is gorgeous."
[08:17] And I went, "Mabel, I think you say that to all the mothers."
[08:19] And she went, "No, I don't."
[08:21] [laughter]
[08:23] Say, you say when I know a baby ugly, I say you had a baby.
[08:25] [laughter]
[08:28] What if you didn't call this film A Quiet Place?
[08:29] What would you have called it?
[08:31] What would I call it?
[08:32] STFU,
[08:34] which is kind of unpicked by a post you guys.
[08:36] STFU.
[08:37] STFU.
[08:43] We mustn't say it.
[08:45] Very rude.
[08:46] BBC.
[08:46] BBC.
[08:46] Keep it fresh.
[08:49] While she tried to take it back the first time, let's just say the next opportunity came with a very different approach.
[08:54] Excuse me, sir.
[08:56] When where can you find a good asai bowl around here?
[08:59] New Yorker, shut the up.
[09:02] [applause]
[09:03] Emily, everybody,
[09:05] film rivalries come and go in Hollywood, but Emily has never once been willing to
[09:09] Let this particular one go quietly.
[09:11] Hello, Emily.
[09:12] Wow.
[09:12] Bit of a frosty hello, didn't.
[09:15] Not at all.
[09:15] No, I'm just happy that we can finally put this Barbenheimr rivalry behind us.
[09:22] Just leaving all that foder in the dust, guys.
[09:24] Right.
[09:26] And the way this award season's turned out wasn't that much of a rivalry.
[09:30] So, just let it go.
[09:32] Conversations after a day's work are rarely worth talking about.
[09:34] But safe to say, when it comes to Emily and John Krosinski, that has never once been the case.
[09:41] We decided to rent a house and actually John was writing Quiet Place while I was shooting this beautiful magical film.
[09:47] He was in like the depths of hell at the top of the house.
[09:52] Mary Poppinsing.
[09:53] He was terrified this hideous wow frightening movie.
[09:59] So I'd come home from work and be like I danced with penguins and he was like I k the kid on page four.
[10:07] [laughter]
[10:07] And when Emily's done joking about her husband, her co-stars are always next in.
[10:11] line.
[10:13] And Matt Damon has always been at the very top of that list with him and Lucy and me and John.
[10:17] And Matt's lost his luggage.
[10:20] And so I remember us drinking so much wine and it ended with [music] you in your beige pajamas from the plane because you'd lost your luggage dancing on a on an Ottoman and it was I thought that was weird.
[10:30] Yeah.
[10:33] I I wore plain airplane pajamas for like two days and I remember thinking he's got some weird moves.
[10:36] Yeah, but I like it.
[10:39] We all know Emily has always had a savage side, but nobody has ever brought it out quite as consistently as Dwayne Johnson.
[10:44] What is Emily Blunt doing right now?
[10:47] Unfortunately, talking to Dwayne Johnson.
[10:49] [laughter]
[10:50] That's what I'm doing.
[10:51] A dream come true.
[10:55] The beautiful path lit behind usually to show people where you have the beautiful path and then you have the beautiful co-star.
[11:00] Mwah.
[11:01] Nope.
[11:02] I think this was just Sorry.
[11:03] I just I'm here.
[11:05] The adventure of a lifetime.
[11:05] No, that was my life.
[11:06] Wait.
[11:08] I'm sorry.
[11:08] I'm sorry.
[11:08] Wait.
[11:08] Come back.
[11:09] She's the best.
[11:10] We're just kidding.
[11:10] We're kidding.
[11:11] Welcome to the adventure of a lifetime.
[11:14] No.
[11:14] No, I didn't.
[11:16] Yet, as sharp as she is with everyone around her, she's never once hesitated to make herself the punchline.
[11:22] I was rocketing along Sunset Boulevard wondering what this strange grinding metal against concrete sound was, thinking surely it's nothing to do with me, right?
[11:32] And then I pulled into a hotel and the valet guy was like, "Lady, you got a flat," and I was like, "Oh right, that's what it was."
[11:39] And by the look of things, an has also always been perfectly comfortable being the joke as well.
[11:44] The thing about me and embarrassment you have to remember is that it all happens on a scale, and so like if you think about embarrassment scale of 1 to 10.
[11:51] One is just like being a person walking down the street.
[11:54] And 10 is for me, uh, co-hosting the Oscars with James Franco, which is only tied with having been honored to accept an Oscar whilst wearing a dress that I knew made it look like my nipples were erect.
[12:13] Al. So, uh, how much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
[12:18] There's a lot of wood, you know.
[12:19] Aussie, you're an Australian.
[12:19] Yeah.
[12:22] Oh my god.
[12:22] How much would would a woodchuck check if like a woodchuck would should check wood?
[12:25] [cheering] No.
